Does anyone know when the Panera is opening at McNaughton and Major Mackenzie? It’s in the newly constructed strip in that plaza.

I also haven’t seen anyone talking about this so wondering if anyone knows?

What do you have in your Command Centre?

Looking to see what I can make my life easier. I know there’s a lot of functionality in the Apple ecosystem that I probably don’t use.

Is your season visit counter working in the app?

I thought maybe it was delayed a day or so but it’s just never updated after my visits. Same for my kids.

Anyone else?

This is 100% a petty post, but I need to vent and I’m curious how other parents handle this. 😂 Is this an opportunity for a lesson?

This morning, while getting ready for work, I went to throw something in the garbage and immediately realized there was something in there from my hidden snack stash. Which could only mean one thing…
One of my teenagers found it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Honestly, I’m almost impressed at this point. They are relentless. I genuinely thought I had finally found a hiding spot they would never think to look, but apparently it just turned into another round of “Where Did Mom Hide the Snacks?”

So this morning I cleaned everything out and moved it to a brand-new hiding spot. We’ll see how long that lasts. They’ll probably realize I found out because it’s all gone now.

Now I’m debating… do I say something? Or do I just pretend I never noticed and continue the ongoing game of snack hide-and-seek?

The reason I hide things in the first place is because they absolutely inhale snacks like they’ve never been fed before. 😂 I buy treats for everyone, but sometimes I just want a couple of snacks for myself … something to throw in my work bag so I can have a little sweet treat after lunch or an afternoon pick-me-up. Instead, they disappear within a day.

I’m almost at the point where I don’t even want to buy myself anything anymore because it feels like a losing battle.

So… how do you all handle this? Do you hide your snacks? Have a secret stash? Label things? Accept your fate? 😅

Please tell me I’m not the only parent
living in a house where finding Mom’s hidden snacks has somehow become an Olympic sport.

So looks like Mauricio and Alexia, along with Brandi are all on Special Forces. Sizzle video attached.

So how long do you think they will last? Do you think Alexia and Mauricio will go at the same time? What about Brandi?

I was wondering what people think about this because I’m genuinely curious if my expectations are off.

I had a beauty appointment scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Yesterday, a couple of hours before the appointment, the provider messaged saying they weren’t feeling well and asked if we could reschedule. I completely understood and agreed.

What got me thinking afterward is that their policy charges clients a 50% cancellation fee if we cancel within 24–48 hours. But when the provider cancels on short notice, the client just reschedules without any kind of compensation.

I understand they’re running a business and situations and illnesses happen. I’m not upset that they were sick. I’m more wondering whether it should work both ways. If I had actually needed that appointment that day, I would have been inconvenienced too.

Do you think businesses should offer something like a small discount, credit, or other gesture when they cancel last minute, or is rescheduling enough?

Curious to hear both customers’ and business owners’ perspectives.

Am I overthinking this, or is there kind of an unspoken etiquette around office fridges?

I bring my lunch in a lunch bag with a bento box that has to stay upright. So someone moved my entire lunch bag and laid it on its side, which caused everything inside to shift and move around.

The part that bugs me is it didn’t even seem necessary. There was room on another shelf for what looked like their glass container, and I get to work early enough that the fridge is mostly empty when I put my lunch in.

I know this is such a small thing in the grand scheme of life, but I really don’t love people moving my stuff around. If you need space, is it normal to move someone else’s lunch bag? Or is the general etiquette to leave other people’s things alone unless there’s absolutely no other option?

Would you say something, just let it go, or ask the office/facilities team to send out a general reminder not to move other people’s lunches?

Am I the only one frustrated by how Siri works on iPhone and Apple Watch?

One thing that constantly annoys me is that when I ask Siri a question, probably 95% of the time I get, “Here’s what I found on the web,” instead of an actual answer. Maybe 5% of the time it will just tell me the answer directly.

It’s especially frustrating on the Apple Watch. If I’m asking a question on my watch, I usually don’t want to read search results on a tiny screen, I want Siri to simply answer the question.

Meanwhile, I’ve noticed that Android Bixby seems much better at giving direct answers instead of just pointing you to the web.

Is this something other people find annoying too, or am I expecting too much? Are there any settings I’m missing, or do newer iPhones and Apple Intelligence features handle this better? I’m running the latest version of iOS, and this has honestly become one of my biggest frustrations with Apple’s voice assistant.

TIA

Anyone know if the Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich is available in Canada? Or even if it was in the past?

I want to set my expectations as I really want to try this.

Parents of teens: at what age do you start relaxing some of your long-standing rules?

For example, one rule we’ve always had is that sleepovers are only allowed with friends whose parents we know and have some kind of relationship with. That’s worked well over the years and has never really been an issue.

But as kids get older … 16, 17, almost adults and heading off to college … do you start changing rules like this? At that age, does it matter as much who the parents are, or does the rule still stand until they’re out of the house?

I’m not necessarily looking for validation one way or the other. I’m genuinely curious how other parents approach this. At what point do you loosen the reins, and how do you decide which rules evolve and which ones stay in place?

I can confirm that Chocolate Toffee Cake Cup is in fact not “better than sex”

I was looking forward to this and what a letdown. I know mine was made wrong or incorrectly or cheaply as it was missing the right amount of caramel, there was some but barely and also a little sprinkle of toffee bits on top, nothing in the layers.

Any quick lunch ideas on a workday?

Does anyone have go-to lunch ideas for work days that require basically zero effort? 😅

Sometimes I unexpectedly have to go into work or a client meeting and I never have a lunch ready. I’m looking for super minimal prep or “grab and go” type ideas I can keep on hand for those days.

Not necessarily super healthy Pinterest lunches lol…. just realistic stuff that’s easy, filling, and requires little to no thought when I’m rushing out the door.

Maybe this is a total pipe dream but figured I’d ask anyway. What do you keep around for emergency work lunches?
