Neutrogena Alternatives

Hi!! I need an Alternative for Neutrogena Hydro Boost, sadly, my dermatologist recommended this product for me and it worked for my skin type. While researching, I saw that it is on the Boycott list and now I don't know what to do.

Is there any alternative? I have an acne and sensitive prone skin

Open discussion: Boycotting spotify

I am going to a picnic and was reflecting on whether or not mention that ive been trying to stay off spotify to the ppl suggesting making a playlist. But also not knowing how to go about that OR if it is even fair to bring up?

I personally go long periods of time without listening to much music so inherently not being on spotify already has its ease for me

Through research there isnt a clear consensus of an alternative that is a direct equal (Free access, rich catalogue, low cost subscribtion (as low as 6,39$/mo for students))

The main ones ive seen are:

qobuz (1month free then 17$/mo).

Soundcloud (free access and as low as 6,99$/mo for students) but it is getting mixed reviews due to partnering with an israel based music marketing platform.

apple music (as low as 5,99$/mo for students) but again it is apple so ive seen mixed reviews about that too

Deezer and tidal which i also seen some mixed reviews due to ties with israel compagnies as well.

Youtube music which ive seen argued that isnt a great alternative as it is funding google

ALL that to say that its hard to know if it is a conversation to have when i dont even have a clear alternative to propose so it feels like im just pointing fingers without providing anything👩🏾‍💻

I watched the video below (which isnt perfect but just to help me in my reflections and how to approach this) and it made me question:

•is what i should nudge for is a lesser usage of spotify?

•Is it fair for me to bring up ?

•How can we get to a consensus of alternative(s) to create tangible pressure on spotify ?

Thank you reading 👩🏾‍💻!

Any developers here? I need to know whether using languages developed by a company benefit it

For example Java is developed and owned by oracle

Angular framework is powered by Google

when I use programming languages does the company gets benefits except probably "our language is used by X amount of apps"

and is the answer the same for frameworks or they are more impactful

can we say a general rule or does it depends on the language (ofc I'm talking only about free languages and frameworks)

I'm between 2 choices, either specializing in Js stack or Java stack... I couldn't choose yet based on the morcco market where I'll be working... However it hit me "should I put my boycotting conditions into that concern as well"

For all Canadians in here

loblaws (shoppers, superstore, no frills) just started selling dates planted by slaves and sold by land thieves, slave owners, and baby killers ?! Most places already removed those from their shelves due to the absolute inhuman conditions Israeli settlers impose on palastinians whose land they stole then enslaved the palastinians to work on their own lands. Please message or email your local stores to take those off shelves.

Spanish public broadcaster RTVE aired message supporting Palestine ahead of Eurovision final after boycotting Eurovision 2026 entirely over Israel's participation - its first absence from the contest since 1961.

'Eurovision is a competition, but human rights are not.
There is no room for indifference. Peace and Justice for Palestine'

Does Google generate money when searching with adblock?

I've spent HOURS to find any single ethical search engine that doesn't either have AI or is affiliated to google/microsoft/etc and genuinely there doesn't seem to be one. They're all plagued by horrible bs: startpage, ecosia, duckduckgo, yandex, presearch (what were they thinking with the doppelganger feature?!) and the list goes on...

So at this point does it even matter which search engine I use? What if I just keep resorting to Google without an account and block all ads and AI with extensions? Would that stop counting as boycotting?

Phone Options (Pixel with GrapheneOS)

My iPhone is near the end of its lifespan, and I do not want to continue supporting Apple. I've looked through here a bit and saw people suggesting a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS on it. I am certainly looking into it, but I am not 100% educated and would like to know: why Google? Aren't they big tech providers for Israel? I am just not too knowledgeable and would like if someone explained it is all.

Personal Divestment

Many of the main companies that are popular to invest in are complicit in the genocide, as well as numerous other human rights violations. What is the best alternative? Are there specific investment funds or ways to invest that avoid these complicit companies?
