I am a student at HITSZ, Ask me

Hey, i have seen sooooo many people applying to HITSZ, and because the campus is new the uni is accepting lots of foreigners ( which they shouldn’t because most of people they accept here are low IQ, and there isn’t enough accommodation for all students), you can feel free to ask me anything you want.

I'm I too late to apply for the start of the next academic year?

Is it impossible to apply for tbe start of next year?

Hello everyone. Like the title says, as I was going through all the possible routes one could potentially take in studying abroad, I came to the conclusion that China would be great place to do so. While it's admittedly late, this comes the fact that I had no real intention of studying abroad to begin with.

Not to waste anymore time, but unfortunately with my basic "research" on the topic, I have found that the next CSCA exam is on the 27th of June, while some of the unis still allow you to apply before the 30th of June, without the CSCA, but my understanding is that you should submit it before said date.

So is it too late for me?

Thanks for reading.

Cheers

Should I choose BIT or wait?

Hi, I have decided to study in china and I am from Uzbeksitan, graduating from school in next 2 weeks. I already applied to 5 universities which I thought I have chance of getting admitted.

I have 5.0/5.0 GPA and 7 IELTS, regional olympics places in STEM fields, have good profile of projects and other additional things like volunteering. SAT 1310( I swear I was sick in test day and CSCA announcements come along and I didn't find reason to retake), CSCA 97.75/100 on both physics and math.

I wanted to apply to more unis but I decide and started to apply just from april so many good universities deadline's have already passed by then, also I missed CSC too, so I am relying on university scholarships. I absolutely need scholarship
I got offer from three out of five schools:

XJTLU - robotics 50% scholarship , Wuhan Uni - software engineering no scholarship , BIT - Mechatronics - tuition free + accomodation on BIT international students scholarship.

I am waiting on HITSZ and SJTU. I applied to SJTU on the last day 31th march and HITSZ 12th April.

The problem is BIT said I need to decide in two weeks weither I would accept or not. So I am asking you guys what should I do? When you think remaining two schools announce their decisions?

and it is not like I am not liking BIT, I like it but I want to know what the other two can offer before making decisions, as my choice can depend on which has better offer. I would love to hear what forum can suggest me, pls

CSCA physics topic materials

Since CSCA doesn’t have official materials, I just used Khan Academy AP Physics 1 & 2 courses to fill my foundation gap. I went from around 50 on mock tests to 90 by just studying from these and using practice papers to practice. AP is harder than CSCA, though, but I think it is actually good since it helps you be a bit over-prepared. I also came up with this guide from my experience of which topic might carries more weight.
I hope this is helpful for those who aren’t ready with their foundation & don’t know where to start.

How hard is it actually to get into a top Chinese university in 2026?

If you are planning to apply for the 2026 intake, you’ve likely heard either that admission is "guaranteed" for international students, or that it is becoming as competitive as the Ivy League.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. Here is a breakdown of the actual difficulty levels based on the current data.

The University Ranking

Not all admissions are created equal.

  • The Top 2 (Tsinghua & Peking University): Extremely difficult. These schools now use a highly selective process involving rigorous entrance exams (or high-threshold CSCA scores) and multiple rounds of interviews.
  • The C9 League & 985 Project Universities: These are the equivalent of the Ivy League or Russell Group. Admission difficulty is high. You will need a strong CSCA score and a near-perfect high school GPA to be considered.
  • The 211 Project & Provincial Universities: These are moderately difficult. They are excellent institutions but are more accessible to students with average-to-high academic scores.

CSCA

The introduction of the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) has fundamentally changed how difficult it is to get in. Previously, many schools relied on HSK levels and high school transcripts. Now, the CSCA acts as a standardized filter.

If you are aiming for top-tier science or engineering programs, your CSCA math and physics scores will carry more weight than your extracurriculars. A low CSCA score can make even a mid-tier university "difficult" to enter, while a high score can open doors that were previously closed.

Major-Specific Difficulty

Difficulty also varies wildly depending on what you want to study.

  1. Clinical Medicine (MBBS): This is the most difficult major to get into due to high demand and limited spots.
  2. Computer Science & Engineering: High difficulty. Competition from international students is at an all-time high in these fields.
  3. Business & Economics: Moderate difficulty. While popular, there are more spots available across a larger number of universities.
  4. Liberal Arts & Chinese Language: Lower difficulty. These programs often have more flexible admission criteria, though top-tier schools still maintain strict standards.

Shift?

It is important to note that Chinese universities are moving toward a more holistic review process. While academic scores are the foundation, admissions officers are now looking closer at your interview performance and your personal statement. This means that a student with a slightly lower score but a "why China" story might surpass a student with higher scores but no clear direction.

How to Improve Your Odds

If your dream school feels out of reach, the most effective strategy for 2026 is the Foundation Program route. Enrolling in a one-year non-degree preparatory course at your target university significantly lowers the initial entry barrier and gives you a direct pipeline into the degree program upon completion.

Hello! As someone who has 0 math knowledge where do I even begin?

By very interesting turn of events I finished high school without much math knowledge except for the bare basics.
How do I even begin to prepare for CSCA?

I have been studying Chinese by myself since September of last year and I've started learning HSK 4, in four days I'll take the HSK 3 exam. I truly wish to go to China and study there with everything I've got, as well as create a life there.
So I'm just scouring through all the options, searching far and wide for the best one...

Though the CSCA hit me like a truck. I'm open to hear all suggestions and all recommendations, and feel free to dm me if you have the time! Thank you all for reading!
