The ideology of Koumintang was strongly left leaning and had some views that were straight up commie. Sun Yat-sen, after being rejected by both the US and the UK, turned to the Soviets to aquire the most important things for the young republic: weapons and military know-how. Soviet military advisors raised a generation of skilled Chinese military commanders in the military academy of Whampoa.These advisors also had an ideological impact, of course. One of the university's most well known students was Zhou Enlai, later an important ally to Mao and the first premier of the PRC. I don't exactly know why Chaing Kai-shek eventually turned against the commies and began persecuting them (one of the most famous events was the Shanghai massacre, which resulted in deaths of thousands of communists and leftist KMT members), maybe someone can explain it better in the comments, I would be glad.

Today, the 1st of July, Canada Day, Indonesian National Police Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of Singapore, once more, we, the thousands of us here and in all the allied, sister and partner subs here in Reddit and all over social media, officially, once more, condemn and denounce the existence, work, struggle and ideologies of the illegal, illegitimate and evil Communist Party of China, its work and activities in the Western World, and its determination and resolute, together with all its fellow allied and supportive politicial parties and organization, and the government, people, armed forces and law enforcement of the illegal and illegitimate People's Republic of China, regardless of the role in the AI revolution and in the fight to reverse the effects of climate change, to effectively destroy the Western World, the capitalist society and way of life, and the ideologies, ideals, princples and values of the Western World.
Today, in light of the more than 105 years of its existence, knowing that the Soviet Union and the then All-Union Communist Party was partly responsible for its foundation, in the aftermath of the May 4th Movement of 1919, as we therefore once more recall and condemn the various criminal actions it commited all over the the years of its existence, we once more, denounce the Communist People's Republic of China, created in 1949 with the assistance of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and the CPC, its official state politicial party, as Evil, Illegal, Illegitimate and a Grave Danger to the Prosperity, Progress and Unity of the Millions of Peoples of the Western World.
For more than a century the CPC, thru its actions, has committed all its efforts for the spread, propagation and ideological construction of Communism not only across the Chinese nation but also across the world, and the propagation of the policies and ideologies not only of itself but also of the Central People's Government of the PRC, both in domestic and foreign policies alike, as well as the policies and ideals of the wider international Socialist and Communist movement as a whole, especially against the capitalist Western World, and in particular the United States and Israel.
On the context of this infamous day in our history, it is therefore essential that, once again, we here and in all our allied and sister subs, renew our undoubted support to the Republic of China in Taiwan as the True and Legitimate Chinese Nation, the unquestionable successor of the empires and kingdoms of China through history, and the guardian of its history, customs, and culture; recognize the part played by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and its predecessors in the formation of both the Communist Party of China and the People's Republic of China, as well as in its ideological well-being and policy; and acknowledge the numerous crimes carried out in the name of Socialism and Communism in both the Chinese mainland and throughout the world, specifically the individuals who lost their lives during the Anti-Rightist Movement of the late 1950s, the Great Leap Forward, the Great Cultural Revolution, and the aformentioned 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre, as well as the repression and persecution of religious groups and the pro-democracy movement on the mainland, particularly in Tibet, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong, its unlawful actions in maritime Southeast Asia while pursuing its unjust maritime territorial claims, and its engagement with various nations through the Belt and Road Initiative, its backing of the broader international communist agenda, the larger anti-Western campaign, and its long involvement in the unlawful Palestinian national independence movement, and most of all, its vital role as a charter member of BRICS since its inception two decades ago which has contributed to the formation of a rising anti-Western coalition of nations led by Russia, Communist China, North Korea and Islamist Iran. Given the current violent war in Ukraine led by Russia and its allies, and Islamic Iran's current war against the Western World especially the United States and Israel, this coalition—which includes political parties, organizations, and individuals—is poised to wait for Moscow and Tehran's signal to initiate conflict against the Western Powers, which is particularly evident through Beijing's indirect backing of these conflicts, even though it has not provided Moscow with significant heavy weaponry, aircraft, or substantial financial aid while it has done similar actions to the Islamists in power in Tehran, along with its ongoing actions affecting Overseas Chinese communities and organizations.
Rather than we today celebrating the CPC and the illegal People's Republic of China, as well as the 29th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong to the Communists, we must, in the imitation of the Canadian participants of the Korean War who fought shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces of the West against the PLA, the People's Volunteer Army and the Korean People's Army, the constables, Mobile Brigade Corps Rangers and operators of the Indonesian National Police in the post-30 September Movement period of 1965-68 wherein the POLRI helped in the arrests of many members of the Communist Party of Indonesia and its allied and affilated organizations, and the courage of the personnel of the Singapore Armed Forces during the Indonesian-Malaysian Confrontation from 1963 to 1965 then serving as part of the Malaysian Armed Forces, we must be strong and firm in our conviction and resolve to continue the fight against the CPC and its allies and supporters across the wider Western World.
We today must stand proud and ready to defend all that symbolizes and identifies with the Western World, even as we continue to fight against the threat of climate change, and the dangers of artificial intelligence in present day society, and let not any stone be left unturned in the battle that we are waging especially against the forces of international Fascism, Radical Islamism, Religious Fundamentalism, Socialism, and Communism, towards our overall goal of a prosperous, sustainable and brighter tomorrow for the world and for humankind.
As we celebrate this year the 65th anniversary of Project National Glory and the 39th anniversary of the conclusion of Martial Law in the ROC, as well as the 30th anniversary of the historic first ever direct presidential elections in the ROC's history, once more we therefore renew our commitment and determination to be a force for national unity of all the peoples of the one and only true Republic of China - regardless of politicial party affilation, ethnicity, language and region - against our politicial, ideological and economic enemies at home and abroad, and to struggle to fulfill the will that Generallismo and Grand Marshal Chiang Kai-Shek gave to the Republic of China Armed Forces in 1963-64 and that Chiang Ching-Kuo gave to the peoples of the Western World in 1979: No contract, compromise nor negotiations with the CPC and its allied parties and all its allies, supporters and sympathizers all over the world until all of them have been defeated, destroyed and dissolved altogether, and an all-out commitment to the now century-old wider international struggle against Fascism, Radical Islamism, Religious Fundamentalism, Socialism, and Communism all over the globe and all that they symbolize, even if it means most importanly losing our lives, following the example of the ROC and Hong Kong martyrs who fought against Russia in Ukraine until death.
As the Communists illegally in power in Beijing plot to invade Taiwan and continue tyo destroy the Hong Kong democracy movement active since the last decade, while helping Russia's and Iran's wars and the fight for Palestine and in the wider struggle against the West in all fronts, we must carry on the memory of not only all those who died on that one day in 1989 whose sacrifices painted the door that would be opened for the freedom of millions of people in the rest of the Eastern Bloc, that would be climaxed later in the year with the breaking of the Berlin Wall, the Czechoslovak Velvet Revolution and the bloody Romanian Revolution, the big dominos that would lead up to the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, exactly 35 years ago, but also of the many other victims of Communism in the Chinese mainland and in much of East Asia, in particular in Vietnam and the Korean Peninsula.
More than ever, motivated by the example of the Taiwan ROC and Hong Konger martyrs who died fighting against Russia in Ukraine, let us even more continue that good fight because it is imperative that these the millions of peoples of China and therefore much of East Asia are to be liberated from these ideologies, more than ever before in our history. For our goals are very clear, as we are, as paraphrased in my statement on r/ ChunghwaMinkuo last January, as one united people of the Free Western World, to openly pursue these policies:
Without any shadow of a doubt, ladies and gentlemen, there is no other way for us but to continue on this ongoing and now century-old struggle to await for that day and time when Fascism, Radical Islamism, Religious Fundamentalism, Socialism, and Communism are all defeated all over the world, a struggle we must contribute at all fronts, especially thru military means.
The goal of the defeat and destruction of the Communist Party of China and its allies, supporters and sympathizers across the world is part of our wider mission, our wider goal as we prepare as one people for the Third World War that will be soon coming to our midst, a war that we must be prepared, as one people, especially if the Iran War and the planned Russian attacks in Eastern Europe, a expansion of the ongoing Russian illegal war against Ukraine, will make things even worse than ever before.
As I have said numerous times, let us, the united and determined millions of people of the Western World, as one people, fight more fiercely and courageously against these ideologies, whether they are far-leftist or far-rightist alike, motivated by the ongoing struggles of South Korea, Republic of China in Taiwan, Ukraine and Israel, and the fighting peoples of Georgia and Iran, to continue the good fight to defend the Western World's values, principles, and ideologies, as well as its economic system, our way of life, arts and culture, the environment, sports, and most importantly, our future, against all of its enemies, both domestic and foreign, especially at the cost of losing our lives.
Today, as we celebrate Canada Day, SAF Day and Indonesian National Police Day, let us, more than ever before, continue onwards the path of continious, lifelong and eternal struggle towards our common goal: the formal eradication, elimination and destruction of Fascism, Radical Islamism, Religious Fundamentalism, Socialism, and Communism all over the world, and work as one people to bring it to fulfillment, so that as the day of the total and definite victory of the Western World against all these ideologies arrives, may it bring forth a day of spriging hope and joy towards a brighter and best tomorrow for humanity and the world.
May today inspire us all to continue this struggle for the defense of the ROC and all of the Western World, against its enemies, of progress, prosperity and hope for all its peoples and for all the Chinese of the world, and for us to continue working and marching onwards as one united people to prepare for the day we will all "Go and Reclaim the Mainland" most especially at the cost of our lives!
Once more, let us therefore, today, everyday and always, continue to struggle with all our best to combat Fascism, Radical Islamism, Religious Fundamentalism, Socialism, and Communism across the wider world and thus carry on the spirit of the countless millions of martyrs that have had fallen in the struggle against these ideologies for over a century and have died as victims of these ideologies. Let us never give up this long standing struggle until all of these ideologies, illegal and murderous, have all been destroyed and eliminated altogether, especially in the field of battle, as we all as one people await for that very day that the ideologies, values, principles and ideals of the Western World will finally triumph against its enemies.
And finally, therefore, to all of us and all of you who are part of the wider anti-Fascist, anti-Radical Islamist, anti-Religious Fundamentalist, anti-Socialist and anti-Communist struggle all across the world: let us, together as one united people of the Free Western World, continue to fight that good fight, especially at the cost of all our lives, to achieve and win even more greater victories in the name of the Western World and all those it symbolizes and stands for, especially for all its ideologies, values and principles, towards the ultimate goal of the final defeat and ultimate destruction of all these ideologies all over the world, so that it can finally come at long last - that very much awaited day of the definite, final and great victory of the brave millions of people and the armed forces of the Western World!

Before someone says it, yes compared to Qing China Taiwan was more developed under Japanese rule. However the Island remained poorer and never equalled the same economic status as mainland Japan.
The Republic of China after being freed from the opportunists like Chen Yi (the same guy who caused the February 28 incident was dismissed, and later shot by the ROC for trying to join the CCP), allowed them to actually focus on the economic ideology of the ROC's three principles creating a strong economy that now GDP per capita outranks Japan.
