bbc.comDoes Italy ignore pre-cable act involuntary naturalization?
Hello,
This is for my Chosen (Not biological) father. I don't have any Italian heritage and his biological children aren't interested.
My chosen father's maternal grandparents were both born in Italy in the 1870's, came to the US in the early 1890's and married in 1895.
His maternal grandfather naturalized in 1905 and due to the way it was his wife got US citizenship in the eyes of the US government as well due to marriage.
His mother was born in wedlock in 1916 and my chosen father was born **out of wedlock** in 1963.
My question is pretty much the title, Does Italy recognize the wife as having naturalized or does it treat it as if it didn't happen as she never independently naturalized?
If Italy does consider her to never have naturalized, does my chosen father's out of wedlock birth have any complications or is it fine to inherit from an out of wedlock mother? I am already aware that it would be a 1948 case if this somehow works.
