For the future democratization of mainland China, the Constitution of the Republic of China enacted in 1946 is the best blueprint for the future reconstruction of constitutional government.

The most dangerous challenge during a political transition is a "legitimacy vacuum." Rather than descending into the chaos of competing attempts to draft a new constitution, it is better to continue from the existing democratic constitutional tradition.

This is not an advocacy for restoring the past unchanged, but rather for using the 1946 Constitution as the foundation, drawing on Taiwan's successful experience with democratization, and modernizing and revising it in accordance with the realities of contemporary society.

The CCP has long promoted the claim that the Chinese people are unsuited for democracy, but history proves that China's path toward democratic republicanism was merely interrupted by the CCP, rather than never having existed.

China's future democratization should not begin from scratch, but should break the CCP's monopoly over history and reconnect with the buried constitutional tradition.

By restoring the principles of popular sovereignty and responsible government, placing power within the cage of institutions, preventing the reemergence of strongman politics, and thereby completing the unfinished project of democratic republicanism, the nation can truly belong to all of its people.

but its indoctrination of the Chinese people's memory and way of thinking,

in an attempt to appropriate the very concept of "China"

and lead people to believe that without the Communist Party, there would be no China.

But the truth is:

the constitutional legitimacy of the Republic of China has never been broken,

and the flame of the National Revolution's ideal of civil rights continues to burn in Taiwan to this day.

Today, "counterattacking the Mainland" no longer means military conflict;

it means a counteroffensive of ideas.

The true counteroffensive does not begin with a beach landing,

but with allowing the truth to land in people's hearts.

Taiwan's democratic experience directly pierces the CCP's falsehoods,

demonstrating that a Chinese society can also practice constitutional democracy,

that the Chinese people can also possess the right to vote,

and that the people are by no means the property of the Party.

As more and more people awaken

and realize that they have the right to choose their government and to be masters of their own destiny,

this counteroffensive to reclaim hearts and minds has already begun!

The immigration issues, racism, and even the wildfire/smoke themes make the game feel more relevant today than when it first released. I know these stuff happend in 2016-2018 too, but now they hit a lot harder. Istg it almost feels like the game was made for today’s world.
