Recommendations for Safe Apartments in Conway, Arkansas

Hi everyone,

I will be moving to Conway soon to join the University of Central Arkansas as a new faculty member, and I am currently looking for a safe apartment within about a 10-minute driving distance of UCA.

I am mainly looking for:

• Safety is my first priority
• Newly built or modern apartment
• Good maintenance and parking
• Reasonable driving distance to UCA

My budget is flexible for the right place.

I would really appreciate any recommendations or suggestions for good apartment complexes, townhomes, or areas to consider (or places to avoid).

How is The Hudson at Central Landing apartment? I would also appreciate it if you could suggest some other apartments I should look into.

Thank you so much!

Recycling

Afternoon, all. I live just outside the city limits. Is there anywhere I can take recyclable materials (other than the egregious fee at the solid waste facility). I guess I can always take my cans to a metal recycler and get enough to buy a Route 44 at Sonic. Thanks! 🤘🏻☮️😎❤️

Older crowd bar?

So don't really know the area yet and haven't been to most places. Still gonna try out a lot of places but is there a bar or spot that generally has an older crowd? I'm 46 and can get along with most people I'd like to think, but was hoping there may be a place with people a little closer to my my age range

The city is holding a public meeting about the Data Center proposal.

Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Conway City Hall, which is located at 1111 Main Street.

For those who aren't familiar with the issues, this video is a good place to start learning.

In short, Ai data centers use tons of power, which makes our energy grid less stable and has the potential to raise energy prices. They use tons of water too and heated waste water from data centers can be damaging to river ecosystems.

They are also being built on a speculative bet that demand for Ai processing will continue to grow exponentially. These new data centers aren't being built to support currently operational Ai models; those use already built centers. If the Ai bubble pops, who knows what will come of all this.

Questions I want answered are:

-for all the negatives of this center, how many quality jobs will this actually provide? My understanding is data centers require only a relative few maintenance workers.

-how much tax revenue will this actually bring in? For how huge the facility will be and how many problems it could bring, it seems unlikely to bring in enough value to the city to be worth the cost.

This could bring a lot of harm to our community if not handled right, so I'd encourage as many of you as possible to show up and make sure our concerns are heard and addressed!
