Suggesting a new hair routine for me?

Hello! I’m in need of a new hair routine, my routine right now is using Aussies mousse, cantu leave in conditioner, Not your mothers gel, as for shampoo and conditioner I recently switched to Not your mothers, a lot of people say don't use heavy products but i've tried light ones and they don't help me instead it falls even more flatter for some reason. And so I switched to using cantu their damage repair leave in conditioner and it helped my hair a lot, and is what started making my hair twist around together which it didn't use to do, (i've been dry brushing my hair for more than a decade but always realized it was frizzy) but my hair still falls flat and I use not your mothers gel the number 5 the freeze one and it's definitely helped though, but I must be doing something wrong, I just feel like people still say my hair is just straight especially because my hair is very soft and silky and I've never done my hair just always brushed it straight, and sometimes it looks like a mess doing the routine especially if I do it upside down it's usually better not doing it that way but also it depends, it kinda just falls from the top, please help! My mother has 2c hair but she doesn't do her hair so I never learned from anyone and my grandpa also had 2c mixed with 3a hair. Also need advice on what hair type I have? It seems like 2a maybe?

Is my hair heat damaged rlly bad

Guys my hair feels dry all the time and frizzy with random defined parts. Help!

Routine:
Donna’s recipe shampoo and conditioner, brushing hair while wet thru it; letting it air dry. I wash my hair like once every 2 weeks maybe once a week if lucky.

I put my hair in a bun and put a bunch of clips in my hair at night with a bonnet on.

Advice needed

I am 18M

For most of my life , only had short hairstyles but after growing up out my hair for a bit, I have learned that it is either wavy or curly, I have asked many people about this and they have different opinions. Some say that it is curly while others say that it is waving. So I am going to need your help in deciding what type of hair do I have

I only oil my hair and wash it.I don't use any product on my hair other than oil

It would be helpful if you could recommend me some hair products which are best for frizzy hair and for volume

I need some curling products as well

I only air dry my hair after using the towel

Products help.

Hi everyone, I’m a boy and I’m new to styling my natural texture and tried curl cream for the first time today.
Routine I used:
Shampoo: Native shampoo
Styling product: Pete and Pedro curl cream
Method: applied curl cream, scrunched, and air dried
Results:
I got loose, fluffy waves/curls with more texture and volume than usual. It looked promising, but I also noticed some uneven definition and I’m not sure how to improve it.
Questions:
Please keep in mind that have thick low porosity hair. I am thinking of changing to a curly/textured low taper fade later if I like the results.
What products should I use. (I mean what brand?) (I have no budget really as long as its not absurdly expensive) (USA)
Should I be using gel or mousse with curl cream?
Is there a simple beginner routine you’d recommend for wavy/curly hair?
I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the product options and would appreciate a simple starting point.

[wavy 2a-2c high porosity] Need help with frizz control

I have wavy, dry, frizzy hair with high porosity. When my hair air-dries, the waves are well-defined (still frizzy), but as soon as I comb it, the waves disappear. If I don’t use conditioner, my hair becomes very dry, poofy, fluffy, and frizzy.

Currently, I use Moxie Beauty shampoo and L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair conditioner. I like the conditioner because it makes my hair soft, but it doesn’t help much with frizz control.

Could you please suggest products or a hair care routine that can help minimise frizz while keeping my waves defined?

Also, what do you think about the Fix My Curls protein hair care routine for my hair type?

Attaching air dried post wash hair photo.

Hair Type - [3A - Low Porosity and Protein-sensitive hair] Hair Conditioner Recommendations.

I have low porosity hair with protein sensitivity, and I avoid using hair products that have protein. I’ve been following CG for close to a decade now.

In recent years, my hair hasn't been working well because it had a lot of buildup, and it took me a long time to understand my hair’s needs. It became protein-sensitive, and the scalp was itchy and produced more oil because of sulphate-free products.

I got to know about the proper clarifying shampoos recommended by the dermatologist as I was struggling with the sulphate-free clarifying shampoos (it wasn’t lathering or cleaning my scalp at all).

I use Ketafung-CT once a week followed by Camille Rose conditioning custard. Or Giovanni tea tree shampoo followed by Camille Rose. I occasionally use Herbal Essences Argan Oil Conditioner and it does not have a great slip but works okay.

I also use the Aveda hair mask (Green one) and the result is good, but I find the masks are thick and do not have great slip.

My problem - my hair gets tangled after the shampoo, and it’s extremely hard to detangle it with the conditioner. It works okay with the Camille rose, but I have a lot of shedding in the process. Mask is another story.

I live next to the beach with high humidity (like 1 km from the beach). The water is not that great either. I find that the shedding is comparatively less at my parents’ home as the water is much better there. The scalp does not clean well at my home and detangling gets hard, hair turns frizzy, and sheds crazily.

Can someone help me with the right detangling conditioner? I can live with the frizz and I’m past the seven-step process of shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, cream, gel, etc., I’ve lived a better life with those steps and I’m getting into a new era of simple hair routine with just a shampoo, conditioner, and an occasional mask or a mousse day.

2B/2C, medium porosity hair; need help with styling products

Hair type- 2B,2C
I need help choosing new hair products; currently using manetain curl cream and volume gel. I use moxie shampoo and use manetain multipurpose conditioner (I really like both so doesn’t seem to be an issue).

I think I have medium porosity hair; it’s also very dense. I do brush styling too. I’m struggling to decide what products to use, as the manetain ones feel heavy and don’t give me much definition these days. Thoughts?

Curly hair advice I wish I knew in year one

When I first started trying to take care of my curls, I genuinely thought I just had “bad frizzy hair.” Turns out I was doing almost everything wrong

A few things I REALLY wish someone told me earlier:

  • You do not need 15 products. A simple routine done consistently works better than constantly switching products every week.

  • Wet styling changed everything for me. Applying leave-in/styling products on soaking wet hair gave me way less frizz.

  • Dry brushing curls before I understood my hair type was basically self sabotage.

  • Not every curl routine online will work for your hair. Density, porosity, climate, and even water quality matter way more than I expected.

  • Protein overload is real. Moisture overload is also real. Took me forever to realize my hair could actually get worse from “too much care.”

  • Diffusing on high heat destroyed my definition for months because I thought faster better.

  • Satin pillowcases/sleep protection actually make a noticeable difference.

  • Some wash days will just be bad for absolutely no reason and that’s normal

  • For reference:

  • Hair type: 2C/3A

  • Porosity:medium-high

  • Routine: sulfate-free shampoo 1-2x weekly, lightweight conditioner, leave-in cream + mousse, air dry or diffuse on low heat.

Curious what advice everyone else wishes they knew sooner
