Stuff I cooked for my family over summer break

I am an engineering undergrad living 1800kms away from home. Food is one of my love languages.

I was back in kolkata for summer break and prepared these for my family.

Flew back to college with a heavy heart, a week back.

Sharing snippets of my gallery with you

To everyone living away from home...have a hug.

Whipped up a feast for fam on jamaishashti, as a 1st yr btech student

I am a 1st year btech student, living 1800kms away from my beloved kolkata.

I came back home for summer vacations, and since jamashasti is here and father's day is approaching, I whipped up an entire 3 course meal, consisting of all my parent's favourite's.

As a child, jamaishashti involved a visit to my grandparent's place with my parents and grandma producing absolute magic as a meal.

It's been 6 years since Dadu left for the heavenly abode and Didun has been bedridden for bout the last few years.

Though I am not even a fraction of a chef she was, I tried my best to make my parents feel the same feeling of being cared for.

I even got them small gifts from my pocket money (like my dida would)

Today's menu:

Starter:

  1. Golden fried jumbo prawns

  1. French fries

Salads:

  1. Laccha onion

  1. Normal green salad

Main course:

  1. Aamshotto kacha Lanka polau

  1. Chicken chaap

Dessert

  1. Blueberry cheesecake

Everything was made at home, by me, from scratch

A very happy jamai shoshti to everyone

I failed...feeling lost

Today was paper viewing, and i failed my EM2 paper (scored 13, and total 36 in the subject). I feel absolutely lost and drained. I live far away from Manipal and coming back here for makeup would be a big financial strain.

It feels like I've disappointed my parents, although they're trying to be positive about it.

I've been struggling for the last year with academics and fitting in, adjusting to college- but this feels like the lowest I've fallen.

I wanted to study well in college, do good, and i honestly tried- but it wasn't even enough.

I apologise for the rant, just wanted to wind down somewhere...hoping to come back better
