Hello Reddit :) Me and my boyfriend have been together for roughly around 2 years. For context I am a really slim built black female and he is a black man. My boyfriend is my perfect idea of a man down to personality, looks, everything. However, the problem is I don't think he feels the same about me.
He typically goes for thicker shaped women and I can't help but to feel like I'm not necessarily his dream girl as far as looks goes. Don't get me wrong my boyfriend always tells me that he thinks I'm beautiful the way I am and I don't need to change but I don't get the feeling that he is infatuated with me. I had my suspicions that he would prefer if I had a different body type from little comments he would say here and there and I tried to forget about it but it honestly really bothers me. He never grabs my waist or rub on me and it's just strange because I know if I was thicker he would want to do those things yk? As a smaller black women I always have this issue with dating black men as they typically prefer thicker women. I've tried to gain weight and it never sticks so I honestly gave up. He fell in love with my personality and I truly think he cares for me deeply but can a relationship survive without sexual attraction? Or should I leave the relationship and find someone who is attracted to my body type?
TLDR: I'm not my boyfriend's type should I stay in the relationship?
