Can someone design it for me please? Seems kitchen is so small 😭😭😭

Hi I am 33F and I have purchased this flat with my husband where kitchen is so small and i dont understand how to deisgn it. My preference is all olives and beige color but color is not major problem. Problem is to have more space for prep than cooking which seems very less here

How would you update this dated dining room without a full remodel?

Hi everyone! My husband and I just bought a home and I’m feeling a little torn on what direction to take this dining room.
I’m planning to remove the existing wallpaper/wall covering, but I’m not sure what to do after that. Should I remove it completely and just paint? Add a new wallpaper? Do some kind of wainscoting/paneling? Tile? Or maybe turn one side into a small bar/serving area?
I really love mid-century modern style, but I also naturally lean a little maximalist so I need to keep myself under wraps lol. I’m drawn to emerald green, moody colors, eccentric wallpaper, warm wood tones, and interesting statement pieces but I’m trying not to make the room feel chaotic.
We already bought the dining table and chairs pictured. The chair colors are: two cognac/orange, two navy blue, and two dark gray. The table is warm wood.
A few things I’m wondering:
What would you do with the lower half of the walls after removing the wallpaper?
Would an emerald green or patterned wallpaper work here, or would it fight with the wood tones/floors?
Should I keep the wood trim as-is, stain it darker, or paint it?
Would a small bar make sense in this room?
Any ideas for lighting, rug, curtains, or art to make it feel more intentional and mid-century modern and less dated?
I’d love any advice, especially ideas that keep the space warm and mid-century inspired without doing a full remodel. Thank you!

Lean into moody or brighten it up? Before and after painting 1916 Craftsman dining room

The dark blue is the after. I love how the color looks with both the built in and laminate floor. The trim and doors were already painted in this room so I painted those as well. Not seen- double glass pane pocket doors 🥰 Planning on doing wallpaper for the top of the walls, a rug, and brass/crystal chandelier (eventually) Curtains may or may not be staying depending on what I decide to do with the rest of the room. I have hated most of the lighter rugs I’ve seen and don’t like the vibe when they look distressed. I was thinking an embossed low contrast wallpaper but can’t decide between going bright or dark. I also like small floral patterns but don’t want to make the room too busy with everything that is already going on in this space.

Any advice or opinions are appreciated. Thank you!

Help with living room layout

Hi all. I’m conflicted about this couch in the living room. I’m wondering if anyone has ideas on how to make this room look nice.
From my perspective, this couch doesn’t really fit the room. However husband insist on keeping it. He’s potentially open to changing the orientation. Any thoughts on how to make this room presentable? Should I add plants along the visible back side of the couch? The computer will have to stay there as well.

Genuinely have no clue how to furnish my kitchen

I just moved into my first college apartment and i love it... but just not this layout of this kitchen. I was thinking of adding a portable island in the corner near the fridge and maybe a small table next to the stove, but im just not sure what else to add. we don't have a lot of storage (there are 4 of us in total) so im curious to see what other ways we can add more shelve space.

The main concern for us is adding more counter space and storage. We are also on a budget (cuz we are college students lol) so pls keep the recommendations at a reasonable price point🙏 AND we want to keep the space looking cute hehe

Looking for honest feedback on our floor plan before we lock it in!

My partner and I are building our first home on a 20m x 41m block in Victoria Aus, with the rear of the home facing north.

We’ve spent a while tweaking this plan and I think I’ve officially reached the point where I’ve looked at it for so long that I can’t tell if I love it anymore or if I’m just attached because of the time invested. 😂

The current plan is around 289m². I’d actually prefer not to make it any bigger (if anything, I’d love to trim a few square metres if there’s obvious wasted space).

A few things that were important to us:
Making the most of the north-facing backyard with the main living areas.
A private master suite.

Bigger bedrooms rather than squeezing in extra living spaces.

A generous kitchen/living/dining area because that’s where we spend most of our time.

The areas I’ve gone back and forth on the most are:
Whether I’ve created unnecessary hallway/wasted space.

Whether the pantry is big enough or if I’ve prioritised the kitchen too much.

Whether the living/dining proportions feel right.

Whether there’s anything that looks good on paper but will annoy me every day once we move in.

If this was your house and you could change one or two things before it was built, what would they be?
I’m genuinely open to criticism, so don’t hold back. I’d rather hear it now than after the slab is poured!

Help me design my pass through living room!

Hello! I am struggling quite a bit with the layout of my new apartment, specifically the living room on the right. The second image shows the size/layout (it's of the bedroom, but as you can see they're mostly the same except mirrored).

The things I really need are:

- A couch with a coffee table. It doesn't need to be a big couch - a 2-3 seater is fine. I don't need any extra chairs

- Ideally some sort of eating nook. I was thinking about one of those cute bench ones, like in the third picture. It again only needs to sit 2 people (even one would be fine!) and I can have some fold out chairs or something for guests.

- Some sort of bookcase situation would be nice, but I don't own very much.

Some ideas I have:

- Maybe using the bookcase as a divider between the living room and eating area? not sure if there's enough room

- Maybe moving the closet that's currently in the hallway into the bedroom, and putting a table and two chairs there? I think it would look quite odd but would be functional to some degree... And allows the living room to be more single purpose.

Other notes:

- I don't have/need/want a TV

- I'm fine with maybe covering one of the doors to the balcony? Perhaps covering the one through the bedroom makes more sense, but space wise might be nice to cover the one in the living room.

Please help a gal out!!

Living room ideas pls!!

Wanting to decorate my living room. This pic has the staged furniture which def isn’t my style. I like architectural digest vibes / have an appreciation for natural textures and colors (terracotta, linens, wools, leathers, stone etc etc). Stuck at a cross roads on how to decorate. I have a white modular sofa but would love to get style design inspo. No millennial grey

Not sure what to do with this room, help!

We moved recently and this room is still empty. It’s a 3 season enclosed long skinny room. We’re in New England so it’s too cold to use in the winter and too hot to use for a good portion of summer.

I hate the carpet but we’re not able to update it at the moment. Other than that I think it has a lot of potential. Would love any suggestions!

EDIT: I love all the comments about plants but again, there’s no insulation so the plants would all have to be moved before fall here. (it gets below freezing early in New England) Also, you enter this room through a bedroom and the other door leads to a small side yard. Kind of a weird house layout.

Entryway and hallway ideas

Hi there, looking for some ideas on how to decorate these spaces. The first is right in front of the doorway, the second is at the beginning of the hallway.

Any and all ideas welcome, thank you.

What would you build in front of these beautiful windows, that wouldn't block the view.

I'm not able to find any furniture that really fits the area.

I'm looking for places to put plants/Suncatchers.

Also my cats request a spot to sit and view outside.

Help choosing room colour

Hey guys I just switched rooms with one of my siblings and I am really struggling to pick a room colour.

She had painted it this odd yellow colour which I hate so I am trying to pick something new.

The issue is this room doesn’t get much natural lighting sine the window is NE facing ( I live in London) and on the backside of an apartment complex. To make the room brighter I got a white light bulb.

AI told me to avoid cool colours for that reason but I still have no clue what to get.
I was considering an accent wall but again not sure what the colours should be.
My floor is a brownish wood colour well light brown.

My furniture is dark oak.
It can be any colour not just the 3 I put in the walls haha

PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE AMAZING

Finally sorted out the corner next to my bed!

I’ve been trying to make my bedroom feel calmer and less cluttered lately. I wanted a small TV for slow mornings, getting ready, and the occasional movie in bed, but I really didn’t want a normal black screen taking over the room.

I ended up putting a 32” Hisense S5 on my dresser. The Morandi white finish and soft curved design work much better with my blue bedding, lamps, and wood furniture than I expected. It feels more like a piece of furniture than another bit of tech.

It’s just the right size for this corner too. Big enough to watch comfortably from bed, but small enough that the room still feels open. I mostly use it for YouTube, streaming, and putting something on while I fold laundry.

It’s still a small setup, but it finally feels intentional and cozy.

Do these curtains work in my room?

I just got these brown curtains from Amazon. They’re pretty but a little darker than expected. I just put them up and can’t tell if they work or are clashing with my space. I added a pic of the curtains I had before. I felt like my original curtains matched too much with my chair and didn’t add much to the room.

I’m also hoping for any other design advice on how improve my space, so I included more pictures of my room. I don’t have much room to work with but I want it to be my cozy sanctuary with some artsy vibes.

Things I’m looking to change:
- bedding
- upholstered headboard in maybe a natural linen color
- possibly switch out the side table in the seating corner with a floor lamp or get another side table and table lamp
- wall color (though it needs to stay light to use my projector)
- fill my frames with art

Suggestions for room renovation

Hi everyone,

I'm completely gutting my current space to turn three fragmented rooms into a seamless, modern integrated suite. I want to strip away all the old, bulky wooden cabinetry and open up the layout.

📐 The Footprint (Linear Flow):
Living Room (12’ × 12’): Needs to hold a proper, comfortable seating lounge and a sleek home office work table without feeling cramped.

Bedroom (10’ × 11.5’): Connects to the lounge via an arched opening. Needs to feel open and bright.

Bathroom (4’ × 11.5’): A long, narrow corridor. I want to convert the entrance of this space into a smart walk-in/walk-through wardrobe that flows into an expanded luxury washroom.

🎯 Key Goals:
Seamless Transition: Maximize the 22-foot depth of the lounge + bedroom so it feels like one continuous architectural unit instead of boxy rooms.

Smart Storage: Replace heavy, protruding closets with flush, minimalist, or hidden storage.

Modern Aesthetic: Move entirely away from dark wood and heavy paneled ceilings toward a clean, bright, premium aesthetic.

❓ Looking for Advice On:
How would you layout the narrow 4’ × 11.5’ space to successfully combine a walk-in closet and a premium 3-fixture bathroom (Vanity, WC, Shower)?

What’s the best way to arrange a proper sofa seating area and a dedicated work desk in the 12’ × 12’ lounge?

Any material, continuous flooring, or lighting tricks to tie a linear layout like this together?

Photos and video of the current layout are attached below!

Bought my first house! Need help designing my weird living room.

Help! I just bought my first home and really want to do this space right. I really like the midcentury modern style. I’m thinking a dark green instead of the blue for the walls (hate the blue) but I’m open to suggestions. Any tips or ideas would be great.

As you can see the layout is a little awkward so I’m having trouble trying to navigate this, would love a L shaped sectional but would that be a bad idea cuz it’d cover up the staircase? I think I want a gap on both sides of the couch to walk through but I’m not opposed to pushing the couch up to the staircase If yall don’t think that would look right or make the space feel cramped. I also would do a couch with a chase if we think that would be better? And maybe put a chair or two on the wall to the right under the windows?

I’m just looking for any and all suggestions as this is my first time decorating my own place and I want it to feel homey and comfy. I need a lot of help, if you can give me incite on a couch, rug, tv console, chairs if applicable, lamps, coffee table and wall color that would be great! TYIA

Also if there’s any apps or websites that yall know of that could help me do this via renderings or whatever that would be super helpful as well!
