SUN MAXILINK PRIME - Should I terminate?

I got a SUN MAXILINK PRIME way back in 2019. My dad got it for me. I pay 15k quarterly, and I currently have around 200k in fund value.

I just had a call with my FA the other day, and I realized that the policy is mainly investment focused. My beneficiaries will get something when I die and fund value that I can withdraw when needed, but it doesn’t really have the medical benefits that I’m looking for.

My parents already have their own insurance, which is better than mine, and I don’t have kids yet. I also haven’t been consistent with my quarterly payments.

FA told me that terminating it would be a waste since this policy is good, and I only have 3 more yrs left to pay but I’m aware that there will be charges to pay also after that 3yrs. She suggested adding rider benefits, but that would increase my quarterly payment. She also said that getting a new policy would be more expensive because of my age.

Do you think it’s still worth keeping?

I’m thinking of terminating it and putting the money into MP2 instead, or getting another policy that focuses more on health benefits.

iCare vs. Providers & Hospitals

Pwede po ba talagang tanggihan ng mga doctor yung patient kahit may LOA?

For context, nagpalit yung company namin ng HMO from Intellicare to iCare. Nung Intellicare pa gamit, wala namang problema. Follow up check up ngayon ng mother ko sa same doctor, affiliated din naman siya sa iCare pero ayaw tanggapin yung LOA. Pinapabayad niya mother ko para makapag pa follow up check up after ng mga labs na pinagawa niya.

Affordable insurance plans for as low as ₱10

Hi! Just wanted to share this since I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately from people looking for affordable insurance plans.

I came across an InLife option that starts at ₱10, which I thought could be worth looking into, especially for students, young professionals, or those who may not have a stable income yet but still want some form of coverage.

Sharing here in case anyone is currently exploring affordable insurance options. You can check out their social pages or message them directly if you want to know more about the coverage and what options are available.

I need help and guidance with my moms AXA MyLifeChoice

I am in urgent need of help understanding this because our financial advisor is honestly incompetent. Sorry for the word, but that is the truth.

My mom is 56 years old. She got an insurance policy from AXA because her co-worker is an agent there “first red” flag. She was recommended to get AXA MyLifeChoice because she was told that it would generate a decent amount of interest. I actually didn’t know she had gotten insurance, let alone a VUL, until recently.

When I found out that she had missed a payment, I asked her if that was okay. I asked what insurance policy she had, and that’s when I found out it was from AXA. I asked her if she had ever checked her policy because I’ve heard a lot of horror stories when it comes to VULs.

So, we checked it, and surprise, surprise she only had ₱1,599 in her fund value.

Her premium is ₱2,096 per month, and she started paying in March 2022. If we calculate that:

₱2,096 × 52 months = ₱108,992

And that’s not even including the ₱15 service fee for every payment made.

I understand that with VULs, a significant portion of the premiums can go toward insurance charges, fees, and other costs, especially during the early years. I also know that you can’t expect to get 100% of what you’ve paid reflected in the fund value.

But seriously ₱1,599?!

That’s roughly 1.5% of the ₱108,992 she has paid so far.
Where the hell did the rest of the money go?

I genuinely want to understand how this is possible. Is this actually normal for an AXA MyLifeChoice VUL after more than four years of paying premiums, or is there something seriously wrong with this policy?

I also want to understand exactly how much of her premiums went toward insurance charges, fees, commissions, and the investment portion, because the numbers just don’t make sense to me.

Hi! Looking into getting a house insurance po

Does anyone know any insurance company for house/commercial property?
For context: half portion of our house is being used as commercial property (dti/bir registered small business) and naisip ko lang na magcheck ng insurance for it kase nakikita ko from my work (VA) na usual ang kumuha ng house insurance sa abroad for their security. Does anyone have experience like this po? Thank you!

Finding insurance Philippines edition

Planning to get a health insurance plan and would appreciate your recommendations.

I’m 29F and currently looking into getting a health plan. I’d love to hear your experiences and suggestions on which insurance company is reliable and what type of plan would be suitable.

For transparency, I have a history of PMOS and a breast cyst, which is non-cancerous and currently being monitored.

I’m particularly interested in plans that offer good coverage for consultations, diagnostic tests, hospitalization, and possible future medical needs. Any recommendations or things I should consider before getting a plan would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Anyone with autoimmune diseases who was still able to get health insurance / HMO?

Problem/Goal:
I’m looking for recommendations on health insurance or HMO providers that accept people with pre-existing autoimmune conditions, or at least offer coverage with exclusions instead of outright declining the application.

Context:
I currently have two life insurance/VUL policies, but what I really want is comprehensive health insurance or an HMO with a higher annual limit.
My medical history includes:
Rheumatoid Arthritis (diagnosed at 20)
Adenomyosis (diagnosed at 25)
Cutaneous lupus (diagnosed last year)
The good thing is that my RA has been in remission for years, and my conditions are currently stable. I also have an HMO through my employer, but the annual limit is relatively low, so I’m hoping to get additional coverage.
I recently tried applying for AXA Global Health Insurance, but I was declined because of my pre-existing conditions.
I’m willing to pay higher premiums if needed. What frustrates me is that I keep getting rejected despite my conditions being well-managed.

Previous Attempts:
Applied for AXA Global Health Insurance (declined)
Currently covered by my employer’s HMO, but the annual limit isn’t enough for my needs
Already have two life insurance/VUL policies, but they don’t provide the health coverage I’m looking for
Has anyone with RA, lupus, or other autoimmune diseases been able to get approved for an HMO or health insurance in the Philippines? Which provider accepted you, and were there any exclusions?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences or recommendations. Thank you!

AXA GHA - Failed to declare PEC

I currently have GHA - Gold Lite but I did not declare my PECs (Bell’s Palsy - healed and no more occurrence, PCOS - ongoing) as they were diagnosed more than 10 years ago. At the time of my application, I was not actively visiting my OB as my last visit was 10 years ago. Recently, I visited another OB and pcos is still present.

I really like the coverage of GHA. Is it possible to cancel GHA and reapply after a year with PECs declared?

Thank you all for your insights.
