Maybe it's a wedding, maybe it's a prom, maybe it's a ball, a funeral, or a dance off to save a planet! Whatever it is, if dancing is involved, show us!

For this exchange, share up to 2 fics or chapters that invole dance in some way! Usually, we write our fanfics like we write a book. But what about when we don't? And that's what I want to celebrate here.

Now what do I mean by "unconventional format"? Well, like I mentioned, most fanfics are written in the same way a typical book is written, so an unconventional format is when a fanfic is not written like that. It could be written like a script, a series of letters, diary/journal entries, or other epistolary forms, group chats. Anything that isn't the typical literary/"book" format counts.

For this exchange, you can submit up to two (2) fics featuring an unconventional format of some sorts. Make sure you have the title, fandom, rating, content and trigger warnings, if needed, as well as how the fic is formatted (is it a script? a series of journal entries? etc.). And in turn you have to review two (2) fics by two (2) different authors.

Look, I honestly don't know how else to describe this, but....

Is there a character or ship that you feel you pretty much write propaganda for? As in, maybe they're not as beloved in the main fandom, maybe they don't have such a big role, but still, you make sure to show them extra love. To show others how good they are

And hopefully, to get them more fans!

Welcome to the OCTOBER edition of our Monthly Shlong Swap Review Exchange! Sorry no poster this time 🙁

In this exchange, we offer up our short-long fics and swap with other writers for a minimum of 10k words.

To enter: October 7th
To finalize swaps: October 10th
To complete swaps: October 24th

THE RULES:

1. Offer up a long fic, or a specific arc of a long fic, which is at least 10k words. Works must be posted at the time of the swap. In your entry, include: title and link, fandom, rating, summary, any content warnings (spoiler triggering and NSFW content), and the word count being offered (specifying whether this refers to the whole fic, a set number of chapters, or an arc).
2. Look through the thread to find stories to swap for. Swaps can be for chapter count, word count, or a combination of both, provided it’s explicitly agreed between both parties upfront. You may turn down a proposed swap for any reason, you don't need to explain why.
3. Record your swaps clearly, including the Reddit username of your swap partner (without the “u/”) and a counter for the number of chapters you have agreed to review. Mark swaps once they are complete, as below:

>Swap 1: Reddit Username – 0/2
Swap 2: Reddit Username – 3/5
Swap 3: Reddit Username – 10/10 – completed

Participants may not have more than three (3) incomplete swaps at any time.

If you are unable to find a swap partner by the deadline, you have no review obligations. However, please do not delete your entry, as the mod team will need to take note of this.

IMPORTANTAll the usual subreddit rules apply. As per Rule 8, all reviews must be genuine, thoughtful, and detailed, with a minimum of 50 words about the fic itself per chapter, demonstrating you’ve actually read the agreed portion of the fic.

Concrit (constructive criticism) and mentioning that you are “fandom blind” or “from Reddit” are opt-in only. Don’t include any of these in your reviews unless the author has explicitly said they are welcome.
