Help with large walls

Hi everyone! I’m new to this sub and am seeking help, so hopefully I’m in the right place! I have two large walls in my living room. I have no idea what to do with them. I can add photos of my new baby or my pets, put up shelves, paint, or do really anything with them. I need help! There’s just too many possibilities. Here is a photo of one wall but I am not sure how to add more photos.

Mural painting for bedroom

I’m painting my baby’s nursery room and this is the first time I’m doing any type of mural, I’m very excited about the whole project but looking for advice on what type of painting should I use?

Basically it’s going to be a space theme and I’m gonna be painting little stars, planets and rockets. For the base colour I’ll be using low VOC, low odour and water based paint. However for the characters I found online that acrylic is a good idea as colours would be more vibrant and I won’t be needing lots of paint for it. Could someone advise?

Tips to brighten living room and kitchen?

Help! We just bought this home and it is severely lacking natural light. The kitchen has 3 windows, 2 facing southwest, one facing southeast. The front room faces northeast. The main window is under a covered porch and the other is on the southeast wall. There’s a row of TALL evergreens directly across from us on the southeast side

My plans so far are just to repaint the walls a bright beige because the current colors are horrendous. i think this will help a ton but im wondering what other things I could do to help brighten up this part of the house?

These pictures were taken around 11:40am on a bright, cloudless day 🥴

Weird window

Help! This lovely weird window in my bedroom came with these blinds that let too much light in. I work at night and sleep during the day, so blackout curtains are definitely needed. I was thinking roller blinds and then fabric curtains, but the a/c unit is in the way. Any suggestions?

Split level, small living room. How can I use this space best? It's not a very large space.

I took this image from the listing of a house I'm purchasing. Any help in layout would be awesome. Thank you!

I am stumped. I can’t figure out what to do in my basement. Help!

Hello everyone!
I am in need of some help with my basement layout. It’s a big blank slate right now so open to any and all suggestions! Bonus point for visuals cause I am not very good at visualizing 🫠 so my basement is getting carpeted and a fresh coat of warm white paint. I am struggling with the layout, I.e. the space under the staircase, where to put a tv and how to make it comfy. On the opposite wall of the stair wall, there are two doors so I can’t really put any couches or anything there. Pictures attached. Please help!

Which shower wall tile?

We are doing a bathroom remodel for our 5x8 bathroom. I like the idea of continuity to use the same tile on the floor as on the shower wall (second photo). My wife likes the white shower wall instead (first photo). The third photo is what our bathroom currently looks like. I know that the ai generated photos are a little backwards but we are paying attention to the color scheme.

Which looks better? Or does anyone here and a better suggestion? We are not designers and are guessing based on what we have researched and looks better in our opinions. Is there anything here that is trending and will stay in trend?

Floor tile: luxe sand matte porcelain tile from floor and decor

shower wall tile: venato matte porcelain from floor and decor

Lvt flooring help please

What colour LVT goes best with my kitchen? The cabinets are cashmere and the worktops are called grey bardolino oak. Both samples are from J2 flooring. The darker oak is called ‘naked oak’ and the lighter one is ‘spring oak’.

Help with our kitchen cabinets!

We’re getting tired of our all white kitchen and want to switch it up. We’re pretty set on the black and natural wood combination and know that the black should be on the bottom. But we’re not sure whether the full wall pantry around the ovens and fridge should be wood or black.

Image 1 is the kitchen as it is now
Image 2 is a mockup with the black around the pantry
Image 3 is the mockup with wood around the pantry
Image 4 are the closeups of the actual cabinets

Any input appreciated!

Help me style my new office around this chair

Bought this chair and the back was greyer than expected. I am tossing up between a desk with a walnut top and white legs or a plain white desk. I loved the walnut top but now I’m not sure it will go with the grey.
Would love other ideas for how to style the office because I have pretty much a blank slate. Thinking earthy tones!

Need help arranging a 3+1+1 sofa set in my living room without making it look cramped

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a 3+1+1 sofa set for my living room and need suggestions regarding placement, size, and overall look. I’ve attached my layout plan and room photos for reference.

Current details:

  • Wall color: cream pie of asian paints (cream/beige shade)
  • Tiles: light grey
  • TV unit has a brown wood + white theme
  • I want the living room to look modern, and comfortable

I’m confused about:

  1. Best placement for the 3-seater and the two single seats
  2. Whether the room will feel too congested with a full 3+1+1 setup
  3. Ideal sofa color and material for this interiror
  4. Suggested sofa dimensions based on the room size

Please feel free to suggest:

  • Better layouts
  • Color combinations
  • Material recommendations (fabric vs leatherette)
  • Any decor ideas that would improve the overall look

Note: I can remove the bed.

Thanks in advance!
