I want to improve my living room, I just feel like something is "off". I think I might have leaned too heavily into shades of blue and black? Maybe too much "matchy" furniture?
I really like contrasting colors, I figured blacks, navy and whites/creams with a few reds and oranges would work best for the space since the walls are a subtle blue/green. I painted my walls in Sherwin William's Sea Salt. The house is an older Victorian style home with really tall walls and slightly awkward angles.
My room’s being remade for some purpose and i want to make it a bit aesthetic, give me some ideas
Thankyou!
for lights, i am using light strips and a warm yellow-white colour, The lines on the roof as you all can see
Hi everyone Im on a quest to redo my basement bedroom which it has an easement window and the small window on the left. I want it to be boho/southwestern inspired hence the paint color. However, I think if the whole room is this color it’ll look bland so I want to incorporate this wallpaper. This bedroom is also weird because the ductwork with the soft fit in the ceiling and wall make it really not symmetric. So my question is where should I put the wall paper… my thoughts right now are on the ceiling or on the wall behind the be on the back wall. I will be swapping out the Home Depot special light for a different flush mount that’s more aesthetically pleasing. I’m going to do the Sherwin Williams paint color Cavern Clay and this wall paper I’ll attach also this partially ai generated photo… should I paint the whole ceiling cavern clay or would wallpaper cover it up better or where should I apply the wallpaper 😅
Just moved into this rented room and I'll be staying here for a while.
I want to turn it into a cozy, aesthetic room, but I'm completely out of ideas.
I've attached photos of the current room. If this were your room, how would you decorate it?
Feel free to:
Edit the photos
Create an AI mockup
Draw over them
Or just comment your ideas
I'm looking for inspiration before I start buying stuff. Thanks! 🙌
hello everyone, my master/primary bedroom has a very small and narrow walk in closet. its 3.5 feet wide and L shaped. Can anyone help me configure a design that will work. Im open to rods, diy built ins etc. Anyone that knows how to do visual design or 3d rendering that would be helpful .
(Picture for attention)
I work at a place that has two small 9’ x 13’ restrooms located upstairs next to a stairwell and a study/office area. It’s kind of crammed up there and any sound that happens inside these rooms you go to relieve yourself is easily heard. Whether at the bottom of the stairs, next to the door in the hall, or in the study area.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use besides foam to dampen sound and provide more privacy? Foam panels seem like they would end up harboring bacteria overtime.
(This will be cross posted so I can accumulate multiple inputs from users.)
Thank you!!
I know I have a bunch of stuff but idk it’s a small room and I’ve just been getting a bit bored.
We are building a custom home in a very expensive part of the country. I would like to save money on cabinets/built ins that aren’t in the main part of the house.
Has anyone used Ready to assemble type cabinets (or ikea, Wayfair Dwelling etc) for built-ins in a mudroom, laundry room or office? Looking for real life user reviews on companies or brands that were worth the money and budget friendly!
Wanting to decorate my living room. This pic has the staged furniture which def isn’t my style. I like architectural digest vibes / have an appreciation for natural textures and colors (terracotta, linens, wools, leathers, stone etc etc). Stuck at a cross roads on how to decorate. I have a white modular sofa but would love to get style design inspo. No millennial grey
Any suggestions for my room?
I live with my parents and I’m a student. This is an AI rendered picture of my room design.
*I need help. Current wall color from this room’s prior use is SW Oyster Bay and too blue with new furniture. Trim/windows are similar to SW Softer Tan at about 97% strength (see pics of trim/doors near SW White Duck walls for an idea) and I have no idea what the ceiling color is. My goal is to lighten the seating area space because it can look cooler/dreary many parts of the day and I want something new*
I have a room I’m repurposing - it was a formal dining room and I now want it to be a hangout/readinf/coffee/board game room.
The couch and chairs (second one coming soon), light fixture, buffet, mirror and coffee table are all new.
I’m so stuck on which direction to go for paint color. It faces south but does not get a ton of natural light because of front porch overhang. Every color looks cooler (more blue/gray/“muddy”) in here than one would think.
Any recommendations using Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore colors?
I just don't know what to do with this room at all. At some point in the future this house will have a total renovation, new floors (lighter than this dark brown), new kitchen, bathrooms, and all of the house insulated and rewired. So for the next 3-4 years I just have to find a way to live how it is right now. During the renovation the door and window of this room may be opened up to a large opening onto the veranda, and the fireplace may move to the far wall.
But right now what is the focal point. The TV wall? The fireplace (which is in an odd place)? or the far wall with the elephant pictures? Do I need a very large frame on that wall instead as it's what you see as you come in?
Also colour wise it's a mess. Two old sofas from our old house in mustard and blue and an assortment of furniture. I've removed most of the cushions for the photo as they were also mixed colours.
It's also an issue that it is a big room and almost needs dividing. A sofa on the far wall would be too far from TV and fireplace. Help appreciated.
Here are the parameters I'm working with:
* I cannot change the faux leather couch and loveseat. I cannot change the rug.
* I can move the black accent chair and the LEGO table to the basement.
* I can rearrange the furniture and get somewhat better lamps and curtains.
My questions:
* I'm hoping to get a round coffee table, would that look good? I'm unsure how big it should be?
* If I move the piano and the bookshelf/bench to the window would that look nicer? The view is very nice so I don't want to block it with the couch.
* In general what layout would you suggest?
* What would you add to make it visually beautiful and cozier?
* I'm conflicted on whether to hang art on the wall above the couch or add some family pictures.. or perhaps paint one of the walls? Though I honestly like the off white it calms me.
Thank you for your suggestions! <3
I want to see what a realistic Studio apt. Looks once decorated. I do not know how to add a couch or something like that to my current apartment. Please let me see how you distributed your space🙏
I do want to incorporate a screen of some type so the first thing you see isn't my bed. Has someone tried this and liked it?
Diagram of my studio layout in the comments! Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to place it here.
How can I make this room look pretty.. please suggest me something minimal and nice
Hi all, I bought beautiful white dining chairs which are quickly becoming my biggest nightmare. They stain instantly! Any suggestion on how to water/stain proof?
