What’s wrong with his eyes ?

His actual eyeball has zero damage or anything that looks like irritation. He just keeps squinting and closing them like he’s in pain and now that I’m really looking at his eyelids closed, they don’t look normal to me. My other 2 don’t have any issues. Is this a vitamin A deficiency you think?

Rescue rehoming emaciated Leo?

This rescue does not specialize in reptiles, is this guy too skinny to be adopted out? Just wanna look out for them if so.

Why does my gecko have its mouth open a little bit all the time??

She’s never able to keep it closed and I’m unsure why, she seems to eat her food quite difficultly and sometimes I see her moth bubbling slightly

I might take this gecko from someone who is rehoming her, does her tail look okay?

Somebody I know is rehoming their leopard gecko, and he just sent me pictures of her. She’s apparently about a year old and he claims that she’s healthy but her tail looks a little alarming to me. Is this an issue? Is she just obese? I would love to take her but if she’s sick then I’m somewhat worried

Vitamin D3 overdose… spontaneous recovery? What would you do?

Please no judgement. As you can imagine this is already very overwhelming right now, and I feel awful.

My boy Gumbo had a feeding Saturday, was normal until yesterday. He appeared to be on deaths door yesterday and today. All the classic D3 overdose signs. Weak. Lethargic. Twitches. Not coming out. Staying in the cool / wet hide. Difficulty holding himself up. Today, the ENTIRE day he came out -once- , wobbled over to his water looking confused, barely got one blep and wobbled back. I called 6 vets and the soonest I could get was tomorrow morning, an hour away, for $450.

I was reading up that a soak would be best because he’s definitely having trouble hydrating himself. WELL… Suddenly, you would never be able to tell he had any issues. Climbed right up onto me. Stood himself up fine. Strength and coordination 100% normal. Walking fine, no wobble. Breathing fine!!

Obviously I still intend to see the vet, but I’m wondering if anyone’s experienced something similar??? Also, there’s a vet who can do a home visit Thursday morning for $275. I save money, less stress taking him in the car that far, etc…

I love my boy. If I have to spend $100000 to keep him safe and comfortable, I will. If it’s actually possible that he’s already recovering and it can wait until Thursday, that would be ideal. Then I’d also have more $$$ toward the actual treatment. All factors considered, what does Reddit think? ETA: I’m essentially asking if it’s possible that he’s recovering on his own, or if this is not going to be resolved without a vet and if even though he seems fine, if postponing it will make it worse.

Upgraded Enclosure / Plant Recommendations

Any recommendations for adding more natural plants to brighten up the tank? I just added an old aloe plant I had sitting around but am open to some more exotic suggestions. My substrate is 70/30 reptisoil and play sand mix.

Also interested in if a cleanup crew is necessary for this build. For reference, my temp stays around 80-85° and humidity 30-50%.

Overall Gryph is really enjoying his new home!

Is my gecko chunky?

Hi! Im a new owner and never had a gecko before this, so im not really experienced, but i had read that he should get 8 worms every two days, but he seems to be getting the chunky side now? I can’t tell. Do i need to reduce the amount or increase the time between? Thanks!

Scaleless leopard geckos

I just saw on Instagram that a guy hatched a scaleless leopard gecko. It was completely smooth and had no bumps. I know in bearded dragons It’s considered bad practice so I’m wondering if it’s the same for leopard geckos but I’m a little concerned about the same thing. any other opinions?

Gecko isn't eating

So I've made a few posts about the enclosure I have for mt gecko, and now, two weeks after getting her, I don't think she's eaten much, if at all. The reptile store I got her from thinks she's about 8 months old and said I should be feeding her 40-50 bugs a week, and she hasn't eaten close to that. Her tail looks to be ok, and she doesn't appear to be too thin. She is still extremely skiddish to the point where I can't really pick her up and try to feed her in a different container. I started with dubia roaches in a ceramic container, and some of them still managed to escape, so maybe she hunted some of em down and ate them. I then tried mealworms, and she didn't eat any of those, and they thankfully didn't escape. Every time I change her food, I do it at night and leave the bugs in the mostly escape proof bowl. I'm trying mealworms again tonight to see if she'll eat them. All my temps and humidity appear to be within range, so I'm not sure what could be causing her to not eat. I am fairly sure she's drinking water as I have to refill that every few days, but I'm not sure what else to do to get her to eat. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated! Pictures for reference. First pic is a week old and second is about 2 weeks old

Made a safer gecko flying saucer wheel. Anything I can do to make it better?

We lowered the angle and made it wider and flatter with ridges for traction and there’s no pinch points or anything. It’s more like a walking pad less like a running wheel, but that’s kind of all my geckos do on it anyway it’s just walk leisurely and poop on it. 😂 made with guy who owns firehouse_geckos. He did all the work lol
