Sono questi pidocchi?

I got these insects randomly and immediately after 2 more stuck together. I don't know if those are eggs in my head or not. I have long hair and I'm a man. I don't want to cut my hair.

Is this a louse?

I know the photos are not great but saw it in my hair when I was brushing my teeth. It’s about 5mm long.

3 month lice infestation in family of 5; blended with shared custody

Does anyone have experience treating lice across households? Especially with uncooperative coparents?

We may have POTENTIALLY finally gotten this infestation under control but I am so anxious about recurrence because it’s happened multiple times before, so seeking advice anyway.

We have 3 kids, both from prior relationships. His 2 are 50/50 with mom. My daughter is 50/50 with her dad. Everything started with his daughter. We thought she got it from school, however, a recurrent infestation began AFTER school ended for the summer and BEFORE she started summer care. We began to think the recurring source may be their mom (who manages a group home).

Regardless of source, we are having trouble getting her cooperation. She has not treated her own hair, will not comb to check it, and does not comb or treat her daughter’s hair. Her father and I have sunk hundreds into treatments between all 3 kids and ourselves without the mother’s cooperation financial or otherwise. My daughter’s father shaved his head as well, and HIS mom ended up getting lice and we’ve sunk $60 into her head as well.

We are now not finding live bugs or (I think) viable nits, but we are all still itching. We were using a tree tea shampoo and conditioner called HASK but theorized it may have been irritating our scalps so stopped it. Mostly the itching improved a lot after discontinuing that, but I particularly am still having a lot of itching. I’ll get a crawling sensation followed by a pinch and an itch in various locations. It happens throughout the day episodically.

I’m so, so tired guys. I’m still combing and not finding bugs… how likely is it that we still have bugs or at least nits?

Our treatments were Nix Ultra, Nix Ultra All-In-One, Spinosad, and I did ivermectin lotion on just myself.

My boyfriend’s theory is it’s time to leave our scalps alone for a bit to let the irritation stop, but I’m scared that we won’t catch something and then end up with a full blown infestation again. 5 people in one house, plus extended families… it just feels impossible to eradicate.

I’m going crazy

found lice in daughters hair july 20th. did 2 treatments 10 days apart, were effective (i thought.) she is still scratching, ive been looking and combing and all i pull out are nits that i believe were from the previous infestation. but i don’t understand why she’s still itching if i don’t find any live bugs. ): she starts school in 6 days and i don’t want to send her to school with lice.

What Could This Be?

Those are not my hair roots, I’m concerned as to what they could be as I have recently been exposed to lice. I did treat my hair, but finding this has made me a little concerned. Can anyone tell me what is most likely to be clinging to my hair? 😬

Here’s an idea you can look into — do your own proper research before doing anything.

A lice-treatment process — just an idea

Sharing this simply as an idea that some people may find useful. It’s not a recommendation or a medically proven treatment plan, and everyone should be mindful before trying anything on their hair or scalp.

There are different types of anti-lice treatments available. The general process involves applying the treatment thoroughly to the scalp and hair, covering the hair with a cap, and leaving it on for the recommended amount of time. Afterward, the hair is washed very thoroughly.

A conditioner-like product can then be applied, followed by careful combing and inspection to check for any remaining active lice.

For dealing with nits/eggs, the hair can be properly divided into multiple small sections — around 6–8 sections — so that every part of the hair can be handled and checked systematically.

Some salons may also use heat styling/straightening on each section as part of their process. However, please be very mindful before using high heat on the hair or scalp. This is only an idea/method being shared, not something that should be blindly replicated. Excessive heat can damage the hair or cause burns, and straightening should not be assumed to be a medically proven way of eliminating lice or nits.

I’m also not naming the shampoo or mixture because I wasn’t told the exact product or ingredients, and I don’t want to recommend something without knowing what it actually contains.

Again, this is just an idea/process to consider — not a treatment recommendation. Please research properly and be careful before trying anything on your hair or scalp.

Please do proper research and understand the risks before trying anything on your hair or scalp.

Lice or bed bug?

Went through a serious episode after finding this guy on my forehead and was honestly praying its lice but only came up with it being a bed bug. After searching every nook and cranny of my house and not finding another one or any evidence. Could this actually be a louse nymph? they look vaguely similar to eachother when filled with blood, i have not checked my scalp yet i dont have a comb for it.

21M found in curly hair and im freaking out

For the past 1-2 weeks my head has been quite itchy not a lot for anyone to notice but enough to make me tell the difference. I feel a crawling sensation time to time and i was scared and I think I have hair breakage but not a lot like when i scratch my head when i shower its visible.

Today I found a louse in my head while I was showering but I didn't use a comb or anything it just came out and I used a lot of conditioner to examine my scalp with a fine toothed comb but I couldn't find anything I think I did fine 1-2 more but that's about it. I'm worried I didn't do it properly though like I didn't section my hair.

And I felt maybe its over but when I was sitting rn I felt the itch again and I found another insect but this time it was moving and before I could inspect it more closely it went away (not in my hair). Idk im scared what to do I feel scratching and using comb would hurt my scalp and at the same time dermatologist sounds costly because where I live and my financial condition. I cannot tell my parents about this either.

Another thing worth mentioning is I have an itch all over my body like I get the urge maybe on arms chest neck ears so maybe scalp is like that too and im confusing it for something else but the fact I saw those insects is really bothering me not to mention the crawling sensation. Please help me out

Please help

(Throw away account for privacy reasons)

I recently found out my 7 year has lice. I used the rid one and done on her head about 36 ish hours ago. She goes back to school in about 10 days and has tons of eggs in her extremely long thick curly hair. I want to start working on getting them out. But everything I read says you have to use conditioner or olive oil and the nit comb to get them out...but yet everything says not to use conditioner for 2 weeks. So im very confused on how to start removing the hopefully dead eggs. Please help me understand what im supposed to do.

Is this lice

Or rather is this nits? None of them are within 1/4 inch of hair. They are all attached to the hair firmly.
