Build a team around Magik being the leader. For me, I want this to be a specialized X-Men team based around supernatural adventures.

Magik (leader)
Nightcrawler
Moonstar
Wolfsbane
Daken
Pixie

I know Nightcrawler is another teleporter but I think this works well when the team needs to separate on missions. Also Nightcrawler is a good moral compass to contrast with Magik.

Moonstar and Wolfsbane as New Mutant allies and they both have a supernatural element to them.

Daken as the brawler who has been to hell and back.

Pixie is learning the ropes as a magic user and learning combat skills from the team.

I prefer painting minis compared to larger models so I accept any critiques on this. I based her color scheme off of her Inverse style in Midnight Suns, hence the yellow leggings and arms

Basically Magik learns the secrets to making a Muramasa blade in tandem with her Soul sword.

Plot wise: Belasco wanted to arm his army in Limbo with weapons of the soul variety and forced Muramasa into a blood pact to make them. All well Magik was his "student" thus by chance meeting Magik ended up also aiding Muramasa in his forge. It was rough going at first but eventually they bonded over their shared enemy within Belasco. She knew Muramasa had a screw lose but that what made him interesting in Magik eyes especially when he aided her in sneaking off to see Storm or Cat.

Training wise: No offense to Cat but this time Magik training she learned from watching the greatest swordmans to have ever dead. For Belasco was recruiting from other hell's to add to his army with the promise of a legendary weapon, or battle and possible reward. Then came the training Magik watched as the other swordmans revealed their techniques and in time she made them her own. Sort of like Flatline from Dc.

Now if Magik could forge a soul sword with properties of a Muramasa blade then in theory her blade could not only by pass most magic but also negate healing factors and cut basically through wolverine skeleton.

The part where Jeff just emoted and we all collectively agreed to sit there without speaking a single word was pure gold.
