Connect2 Hubs

How likely are you to be permitted to work from one instead of your assigned office? I have been provisionally placed in Belfast, so I will have a long commute ahead of me. Saw this scheme online but not sure if it is just one of those things that were a big headline and then quietly discouraged or if it is actually something you can make use of.

EO1 Interviews

I have been invited to interview for two EO1 roles - Trainee Internal Auditor and Trainee Chartered Accountant. Both roles are testing the same 5 competencies so what are the chances that the questions will be the same in each interview?

Warning

This could be incredibly obvious but I'm not sure of the answer. I had a written warning a few years ago(I know I'm an idiot, I did the thing everyone is warned about doing), it's expired now- on job applications it states "Have you ever had a written warning?".

I take it I have to disclose that every time? What does it impact in terms of recruitment?

Accepting an offer

Is it normal once you get your offer email to not hear from anyone until you start? I’m due to start in the next week or so and apart from the automatic email reply that my acceptance slip was received I’ve heard nothing, should I be concerned?

IRC 313542 Deputy Principal

Has anyone heard anything back yet? It’s nearly 4 weeks now since the tests closed. It can’t be much longer now.

Honest opinions of working as an AO with childcare to sort.

Hi

I am attending an interview for the current AO comp in Belfast and need to consider my childcare arrangements and whether it is attainable working full time with kids, or if I am better staying in part time employment.

To be honest the hybrid working is what is encouraging me to apply.

How do you find the Hybrid working? can you still manage the school runs etc? or would I need someone to take the kids to school and back everyday? How long before you can start working from home?

All opinions and advice is greatly welcomed.

thanks

Pay?

Evening everyone.

New start form was put through on 13th and was on HRconnect on 14th. Within the email it said in order to get this month's wage, the bank details needed to be on by 15th at 5PM.

I am aware payroll cut off date for anything put through on HR connect (overtime, deputising etc) was either 12th or 13th, would anyone be able to confirm that the normal salary will get paid at the end of the month?

Hello,

For anyone wondering about whats going on with this competition, I just rang Hrconnect and was told there is no estimated timeline for when offers will be made and start dates. I was told to keep an eye out for any emails from them. Just wanted to update anyone in the same position, who like myself is eagerly waiting on the offers coming through 🙄.

Operational delivery apprenticeship scheme placements.

Is it true that most placements will end up working in jobs and benefits with a lot of telephony and customer-facing work?

What happens with Flexi time when moving posts with the Civil Service?

Does anyone know what happens with Flexi when moving posts? Is it carried over or taken from wage if in minus? and then start fresh in new post? Same grade. Different role. Substantive in both. New role through external competition.

Trainee Internal Auditor Interview

Hi folks, currently have an interview date for the above role. 5 competencies, in person, 35 minutes in length - analogous to EO1. Would it be safe to assume 1 question per competency (~5-6 minutes per response)? I know it's probably worth having a backup for each one but with time constraints and my terrible memory not sure how beneficial this would be to me lol

Interested in applying for a role which is very close to home, I don't drive but would be a 10 minute walk to the office from my house. I am also a 5 min walk from train and bus stations. This role is hybrid and would be based mostly in the office, from reading the job description there would be travel to local events as part of the role (not every day but occasionally). I have all the skills and experience they are asking for but are my chances gone if I can't drive? It is down as an essential criteria on the form. I am aware you can only opt for public transport if you have a disability that prevents you from driving. Just wondering how strict they can be on this, or if its something they would look past if you had the relevant skills and experience.
