I spent almost 30 minutes on the phone with them last month and was given a set price for the next six months first month. It was prorated which is good and then the next month I got the price I was supposed to. Then this month it shot back up. I called them and they keep me on the phone for another 30 minutes to tell me I was right I was promised that price and I didn’t receive and told me they had to escalate it and will send me an email…… I have to wait for an email to get this settled. It is ridiculous so while I wait for this email, I am pricing out other companies and by the time I get this email I will be canceling.

How is a company run like this? It’s insane. I have used them for 10 years and they finally pushed me far enough to cancel..

I set up a port to be forwarded to a Raspberry Pi system connected to the router with Ethernet. It doesn't seem to work, though. Are there ports that can't be forwarded? I need to ssh in to the Pi on occasion, and moved the SSH port to something non-standard to discourage snoopers. When connected to the local network I can ssh in successfully, so I know the Pi is listening. All the Pi does is gather weather data, but I don't want people trying to crack passwords anyway.

Edit: Tried moving the sshd port back to the normal 22. I can still access it from inside the network, but not thru port forwarding from the outside (I did change the port being forwarded to the normal 22). Even tried rebooting the router/modem. Is port forwarding supposed to work?

It took me 2 hours to cancel my service. I had gutters installed on my home so I had to have a technician come out and remove the line as the cable guys would not. They destroyed the line and draped it on my fence. I called to have them fix it and the technician called twice I awnsered both times and then he hung up each time and canceled my appointment saying I never answered (though I heard his radio going and told him I could hear him over the phone). Called again the other day saying the hazardous line needed to be removed. The lady said she’d call me back in 30 minutes. She never called. Without my knowledge or consent the technician came and reinstalled the cable onto my home that I explicitly stated needed to be removed. Never knew he was here. No appointment. No notification. Nothing.

You guys are absolutely the worst charging 160 for cable. Its just a wifi add on box that goes out everytime your wifi does. You charge your customers of years these insane prices and show them commercials of their same service for 89 bucks.

I have been going through the crummiest issues with this dumb service. My WiFi keep going in and out for the past few days and they keep blaming it on maintenance.... For a week !? I'm ready to cancel this ish. And on top of that I can't even sign into my app

Hi so basically I got laid off last year and couldn't keep up with my bills and whatnot. Then to make matters worse I had health issues to deal with.

I got services cutoff with a balance of around $500 due to Optimum. I think the service was cut off either December or January 2026.

I still have the cable modem/WiFi router unit and cable box equipment because I was planning on catching up with my past due balance and restore services but my health issues didn't allow that.

What I wanted to know is, can I pay my past due balance and start again as an optimum customer?

Does Optimum allow/provide conduit for underground burial of their internet cables? Or is this an option for their customers?

I've seen a few posts on here already about canceling the service and how frustrating it is. I can CONFIRM is it EXTREMELY frustrating and at one point I was just repeating I wanna disconnect/ I wanna cancel service. At first it was normal conversation, I mentioned how I was moving and he was like oh where are you moving, we can move the plan there. And he kept repeating his limited time offer yada yada. We were on the phone for an hour and eventually I asked for a manager or his boss. He then told me it would be a two hour wait! Mind you I called at 6PM and they close at 8PM I was so skeptical. Okay so now I'm pissed I storm off to the optimum really close to me. They say they can't do anything and they have multiple people coming in for that exact reason... But nice optimum man tells me to tell them that I'm moving to another country and no other family/relative can take my plan.. 👀 And lo and behold, it worked!!! I said I was moving PERMANENTLY out of the country and they just put me on hold for some time but eventually they let me disconnect my service..

I got my bill notification, but am currently traveling for vacation. When I am login in I only see an red banner with the notification: "We're unable to sign you in right now. Access has been temporarily restricted due to unusual or unsafe activity." There is no solution for that as far as I can tell. Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this? I'm just trying to pay my bill and Optimum makes it impossible :(

Edit: I can't even start a customer chat because it requires me to be logged in ^^

We’re in Somers, NY. It’s been over 24 hours and the status still just says ‘Update Pending’. Chat is useless. What is causing this outage?

Any update on outage ID UTT5337522_NJ61BO006 been down since 6am, trucks were in the area working and they left hours ago but no resolution yet.
