I'm ready to work hard as I have interest in this subject but I am pretty much confused at the start of my 1st semester bcs I have backlogs.

Someone kindly give me advice and help me on how to cover the syllabus.

I have the following subjects in 1st Sem -

Before Wi-Fi, This Was the Sound of Getting Online 📞💻

Before broadband and Wi-Fi, getting online meant connecting through a dial-up modem over an ordinary telephone line. Widely used from the late 1970s to the early 2000s, these devices played a significant role in the history of early internet connectivity and became known for their distinctive "handshake" sound.

In the early days of the internet, users connected by dialing a phone number provided by their internet service provider (ISP). The series of screeches, beeps, and static-like sounds wasn't random. It was two modems identifying each other, testing the quality of the phone line, and negotiating the fastest connection speed they could reliably support.

Once the handshake was complete, the connection was established and data transfer could begin, allowing users to browse websites, send emails, and access other online services. One of the most well-known models was the 56K modem, capable of speeds of up to 56 kilobits per second (Kbps).

As broadband and other high-speed internet technologies became widely available in the early 21st century, dial-up modems gradually became obsolete. Even so, their unmistakable handshake remains one of the most recognizable sounds of the early internet era.

Which college to join for Bsc

I had originally hoped for an IISER but now I think I should join a college as a backup. I live in Kolkata,West Bengal.

Please kindly suggest any colleges which are still taking admission from board marks/direct.

Passed 12th in 2024(94.75%)

I’m feeling extremely underconfident about my academic future..........

I’m feeling extremely underconfident about my academic future because I’m going to study BSc Physics at a relatively lesser-known Central University(RGU, arunachal), while i see so many students made it into IISERs, DU, and other more reputed institutions. I keep comparing myself to them and feel like I’m already far behind. It makes me think that I’ll never be able to compete with students from those institutes or reach the level of research and academics I want. I know I want to pursue physics seriously, but right now my university makes me question whether I’m capable of achieving the same things as students who started from a more prestigious institution.

In search of the best method of problem solving that leads to mastery in physics

It's been a few years that I had been facing problems in problem solving in physics. I am a 10th class student, though I like to explore diverse world of physics regularly practicing concepts beyond my class and solving problems based on that. But I am getting burn out on some questions—

1. What should come in your mind the very first seeing a question.

2. How to find a good approach to solve the problem.

3. How to restart after a failure.

4. How to learn something extraordinary from a question?

5. How to never forget what I have learnt from it.

I am really hopeful to get a good guide from my seniors.

Thank you in advance :)
