Hoping the mods here will be more chill as one previously supported the idea I think

Hi! I'm going into y12 and my current A-level combo is Eng lit, philosophy, econ and politics. I was aiming for a law degree, however I've been leaning more towards PPE because PPE combines all of my interests and is a very flexible degree (which I prefer for the degree to be flexible so I have more job opportunities, while a law degree I feel is more rigid).

However most top unis (and the uni I want to go to) requires A-level maths for PPE and I don't hate maths, I quite enjoy algebra and statistics and stuff but I always struggled with the grade 9 topics at the end of the paper and I really dislike geometry (screw circle theorems).

And like A-level maths is considered extremely rigorous so I'm not sure if I should take it cause I want 4A* at A-level and I don't wanna jepordise my chances. Plus, I'm predicted all 8s and 9s (hopefully all goes well tommorrow!) except a 7 which is in maths so I'm not the worst at maths but comparatively, it is my weakest subject.

But I do enjoy it, and I'm quite hardworking like I'm sure if I tried I could definetly push myself to get an A* but anyway, the point is that should I take maths and do PPE, do PPE without maths but then I can't go to my dream uni, or just stick with law?

My current school's 6th form enrolment is on results day and I want to keep it open as a backup. However the rest of the schools i have shown interest in begin or finalise their actual application process on that day. Not sure what to do as all 3 of the others are competitive 6th forms so simply getting grade requirements may not be enough to be sure of a place.

WHY IS IT SO LOUD

Hey, there. It’s me, the Tony Blair fan fic writer. So, if you read some of my posts. You might have known that I did my History GCSE in 2025 and that my school forgot to give me, my extra time during the early GCSE’s exams of this year.

So, I’m lying in bed. Thinking about results day and my mind flickers back to how my school forgot to give me extra time at the beginning exams. I then realised, I was supposed to be given extra time as well, when I did my 2025 history exams. I was two marks off of an 8. Now I was unaware I had extra time then and my school didn’t register it. But I was supposed to, and if I had my deserved extra time, I know for a fact I would’ve gotten an 8, cos I would have a slowed down and will have definitely gotten two spag marks-which would have gave me that 8

Hell, if I found out that I should have had extra time before December of last year, I could have contacted them and they would have probably given special consideration of 2%. Which would have changed my grade.

Now, it’s August 2026 and there’s no way for me to rectify it. I know someone of you reading this would be like “You still got a 7. I would be lucky if I get a 5 next Thursday.” And Yh, you’re right. But that was my grade. That unless I have the money and time to retake. I will be carrying onto 6th form and uni. I’m disheartened and did successfully hold back my tears rn, cos that’s my hard work. My schools forced me to learn two topic at once. I was dealing with my history exam while doing my mocks and some personal stuff. That’s my grade, that I rightfully should have gotten. That I will never get now. And that’s enough to piss anyone off

I've seen a lot of stuff for free/discounted food on results day but honestly I am a VERY picky eater and get full rly quick BUT I wanna make the most of results day discounts so does anyone know of anything that isn't food related?

hi, thinking about self-studying psych, using my frees and devoting around 20 hr/week in total to it. im predicted all 9s, and have access to psychology teachers at my sixth form who i can ask questions to or pop in during the afternoon to speak to i believe. i would take it in the summer of next year privately. i am also taking bio chem maths, and i am very good at science and english. i want an A*, is it possible?
