One of the changes we're making to this sub is a life after GCSE options section. A lot of people on this sub said that for GCSE students post 16/post GCSE options are a bit of an unknown area so we've decided to dedicate a bit of the sub to this. So tomorrow me and u/Economic_Properties8733 are going to host an AMA after school UK time to give any GCSE students on this sub who r uncertain about life after GCSE a chance to clear up these uncertainties. We're also gonna have a weekly spotlight on post 16 options! So we hope that this helps with any queries. Tune in tomorrow!
So in my previous posts I mentioned some new changes and one of these is whole sub weekly past papers since I think this could bring the community together a bit more and motivate everyone. So each week on a monday, I'll post a past paper for anyone who wants to attempt it. I'll start off with the main subjects that everyone does (science, english, maths) and if there is enough interest in a certain subject then I'll do that subject to. If you want to participate comment your exam boards below so I can make sure to add papers from each exam board!
How this works:
- I post a paper
- You can do it anytime between Monday and Saturday.
- You mark it yourself if you can (maths and science) or you get your teacher to mark it if you can't (english)
- Sunday, I make a post for everyone to discuss how that paper went and share their scores in a polite manner if they'd like. On this post u can also share any recs for subjects and exam boards.
Disclaimer: I will not be making past papers, I'll simply pick one each week.

I've been seeing this trend for a bunch of shows but I couldn't find any for H2O so I made my own ones. Ive ordered these from fav characters to least fav characters.

I've been seeing a lot of these cake flavours types of posts for other shows and I finally found the gossip Girl one but I'm not sure how much I agree with it tbh. I tried ordering these in the order I like the characters.
I think Blair and Nate r spot on! I also think Jenny and Vanessa r pretty much perfect. Serena also works in certain seasons. However, I feel like dan would be an espresso type cake cause it gives off tired writer trying to fit in and act grown up vibes, the description for him and vanilla just seems a bit off for me. I think chuck as almond could work at some points but he isn't THAT sweet. And finally, I think Regina is always messy and that's what's good about her character so chocolate cake doesn't seem very fitting.

The title of my speech was "why we can't trust our brains?- cognitive biases".
I thought I'd also give some tips:
- having ur speech title being a question is important cause it helps u not go off point cause at the end of the day it's a persuasive speech so ur question should support ur opinion.
- you should also make sure to present counter arguments for all ur points and then debunk them slowly so that it doesn't seem like ur hiding facts from ur audience.
- you should also make sure ur very audible and confident while presenting because u do get marked on that.
- Try to not look down and have the majority of ur apeech memorized so u don't have to read at any point.
- It's also a good idea to give ur friends some questions to ask u so that ur teacher isn't asking everything and u don't freeze up when answering cause ur already prepared for most of the questions.

Putting these in order of my fav to least fav characters. As someone who loves fruit cake and aria I think that the aria one is spot on! I think the only one I slightly disagree with or don't see is the Ali one but Mona and Spencer and Hanna r lit perfect!
Cause thinking back, they rly set it up for Aria to be the main character but as the seasons progress, I feel like she gets the least screen time and character arcs out of the main 4. Also I feel like the pilot set up Numerous things that felt so different to the rest of the show. I think the writers rly were thinking of a different direction because Spencer felt so different and Hanna giving Emily her thingy felt out of character cause the start of the pilot made it seem like Emily had had a falling out with Spencer and Hanna after aria left. Which is rly weird to think about considering that aria and Emily aren't even close, like the only time they hang out together is when Emily isn't talking to Hanna. Like I get that obviously there's gonna be character development after the pilot but I almost didn't continue the show because I couldn't stand Spencer and now I LOVE her and relate to her sm (it only took like an episode after the pilot to see that she was set up completely wrong). The pilot also made it seem that Mona was a part of their group and I was confused about that bit for a while cause for some reason I didn't put it together that Mona was the girl with the glasses chasing Alison and Aria. I definitely would've liked to see more of Ali and Aria later on cause Aria seemed like the only one who acc missed Ali (ik that they tried showing how Emily missed her but it felt more forced to me).
What do u think about how the pilot set up the show?
I compiled these from multiple posts so I can't take credit but I did swap around Caroline and Rebekah cause it made more sense to me this way. And I slightly edited Katherine's. I also put the other Rebekah one cause I don't completely disagree with it. I couldn't find any for Hayley or Tyler and nothing rly came to mind tbh.
The fact that I acc lole fruit cake but hate Matt makes this hard but it's also valid. Cheesecake, marble and vanilla will always have my heart both as cakes and characters.

Now obviously results day was 5 days ago but I was so overwhelmed then and then I was busy packing and unpacking cause I was moving houses so it skipped my mind. This is mainly based on social life tbh cause I'm a bit worried about fitting in. But any advice is appreciated. The things I'm mostly curious about:
- Is it normal to have a whole week for induction?
- Do most ppl have driving license?
- How different is uni life than school life if I'm still living with my parents and getting dropped off and picked up by them?
- What type of outings do u have with ur uni friends?
- How should relationships with professors be? Can u joke around with them like you'd joke with teachers? Or do u have to be super respectful?
- How likely is it that professors will acc remember you?
- What was your biggest surprise when u started uni?
- Do most ppl eat out or get a packed lunch with them? (I don't wanna go broke)
- What type of stationary do ppl have? Is it weird if I hand write notes? (I'm one of the rare ppl who finds handwriting stuff easier than typing but I'll obviously still be taking my laptop with me)
- How do ppl usually dress? (My style is vintage shirts with different coloured undershirts and jeans but I'm worried I'll look overdressed cause I'll usually wear these for proper outings not everyday)
- What type of bags do ppl have? (I have a laptop bag I rly wanna use but I also need a backpack for my lunch and personal stuff but I also was wondering if I could have my personal stuff in like a cross bag but idk where I'd put my lunch box)

So extra context: I do 2 IGCSEs and 7 GCSEs and live outside the UK in the missile east where our exams got cancelled cause of the conflict. We ended up being switched to the portfolio of evidence system where we did exams internally and submitted them (as well as mocks if we wanted) as "evidence" To the exam boards.
Now the way this works is that the examiners look at our "evidence" And decide the grade based on vibes (or as my friend has told me "quality" Is a more accurate word). So they basically look at our work and decide based on the vibes/"quality" If this person is a grade 5 or a grade 9 student. So there r no grade boundaries because obviously it would be hard making grade boundaries since each school is using different past papers but they r acting as if these papers don't have grade boundaries they could use.
Anyways I'm annoyed that I have no tangible way to understand why I got the grades that I've gotten. Like our teachers were telling us that they can't tell us what grade they think we got (they had to check. Our papers and scan them so we could send them to the exam board) cause there is no way to measure what our marks will equate to which is so stupid. Like even if I wanna appeal how will ik that I should 😭😭. It's so insane.
