Resultssssssssss

English lit: 8

English lang: 8

Maths: 6

Combined science: 87

Geography: 9

History: 7

M*sic: 3

Overall I'm SUPER happy, I mean, when I saw my results I was BEAMING. I worked so damn hard for those grades and my hard work paid off, nd I'm super glad. I'm getting history remarked because I was 1 or 2 marks from an 8, and the school pays for it so why not? 🤷

Anyways now I guess I have Alevels to prep for :D I need to go buy pens n stuff cuz I have none 😭😭

Is there anything simple I can do to help reduce my anxiety/make my energy positive for collecting my exam results tomorrow?

I'm pretty new to witchcraft, so I apologise if my question is stupid or whatever. I'm researching things I can do to reduce my anxiety and attract positive energy for tomorrow, bc my exam results are really important and I'm really anxious, however I'd appreciate advice from people!

Again, I apologise if this is an FAQ or a stupid question, I'm just really unsure what to do and scared I'll do it wrong or something

Is photography a good option along with bio and geo?

I put the flair as results day because this really depends on results day. I need a grade 6 in maths to do chemistry at A level, but I've struggled to get there during mocks, and the last set we did I got a 4 (largely due to reasons other than my revision and actual understanding of maths though), so I'm worried that I won't get that 6 that I need and I need to make sure I have a backup option for enrolment day should I need to switch my chem out

I've been trying to figure out what other a level I would pick as a backup, and I originally said business, but I genuinely don't think I'll enjoy it all that much. I could do English lit because I do enjoy it and my grade will probably be 6 or over, but I have issues with timings in exams even with extra time and a laptop, and I'm just not sure it would be any use if I want to do something based around conservation, science, the environment, that sorta stuff at uni.

The 6th form I go to offer photography, and whilst a creative subject isn't my first choice, I do like the idea of it, and originally debated choosing it as my 3rd A level before I switched to chem, as I felt that photography would be good if I decided I wanted to be a wildlife photographer or conservationist.

I don't really like any of the other subjects the 6th form offers, and they don't offer English language or history, which would've been my backups.

I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion? I tried to give as much info as I could so y'all had the info to form an opinion, hence why this is so long. Advice/opinions would be highly appreciated, thankyou!!

Do you ever wonder if people from your old schools remember who you are like you remember who they are?

I've moved schools loads, and I still remember loads of the people from those schools, even primary schools. Sometimes I wonder if any of them ever remember me if they have memories from when I was at the same school as them.

A weird question, I know, but I wanna know if anyone else also randomly questions this or if I'm alone on this 😭

Craziest GCSE/school related dreams u have had?

I dreamt I slept through results day completely (I slept from the 19th until the 21st) and nobody told me, then when I woke up I panicked.

I also dreamt that I was sat in my history exam and halfway through I realised I'd accidentally brought my history teacher in with me in my blazer pocket 😭😭

I remember someone on this sub they had a dream where an onion told them their results 💀 Whoever that was I summon you

Prom outfitt :)

The makeup was also really good but I'm not showing my face 😭

Prom was pretty fun, it wasn't as amazing as it was hyped up to be, but I enjoyed getting to see all my friends and teachers again. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a photo with my english teacher or one of my maths teachers, but I got one wi my geog teacher :D

They acc served alright food, they ordered in Dominoes because the venue wasn't anything super posh like a wedding venue.

Yes I'm posting at half past midnight. No I cannot sleep, I'm too hyped up and I'm warm asf 😭

I have now created the GCSE Crime Solving Paper!

The highly requested GCSE-style Crime Solving Paper is now finished!

You are going to take on the role of a detective, solving crimes using evidence, reasoning, and investigation skills.

The paper is worth 60 marks and includes murder cases, burglaries, eyewitness testimonies, forensic evidence, psychology, and multiple-choice questions. It finishes with a “Create Your Own Investigation” question.

Grade boundaries:

9 = 52
8 = 48
7 = 43
6 = 39
5 = 33
4 = 27
3 = 20
2 = 14
1 = 9

It’s designed to be fun (at least I hope) whilst still feeling like a GCSE paper.

I will post the mark scheme shortly to give people a chance to complete the paper first.

Let me know what you think of it, and comment down below what score and grade you got.

If you would like the link to the paper, say so in the comments and I’ll send it to you.

Here's what 2 years of GCSE stuff looks like for me

Science, maths, and (ironically) geography were the biggest causes of deforestation, contributing to the 22 inch high pile of every sheet, booklet, book ever used at GCSE.

All of this will be recycled :) ♻️🌍💚

We're finally done, but it doesn't feel like we are

It was my final exam and leavers day, and we did all the shirt signing, photos, hugs etc. I've thrown out my school uniform, but I genuinely don't feel like it's the end already. I'm convinced that I'll be going back tomorrow and going back to my normal lessons, and that I'll be going into the humanities block at break to give my geography teacher her regular life update and it's really weird, because I know I've finished, but I don't feel like I've finished.

I'm probably just gonna realise on a random day in July and spend the whole day crying or something

My school has sucked but I'm also gonna miss it a lot

It finally hit me at lunch today whilst me and my friend were sat at our OG spot outside the humanities block that this is actually it. The moment lots of us have been thinking about since the start of gcses - finally leaving.

I'm happy to leave and go to college, do the A levels I wanna do etc, and my school genuinely sucks - it's been a massive part of the reason this year has acc sucked so bad. But I'm still gonna really miss everything. Like wdym it's never gonna be me going into humanities at least once a week to give my geography teacher a life update. Wdym I'm not gonna have another science lesson where I spend the majority of the time talking to my friend. Wdym i'm not gonna have another maths lesson spending the whole time me and my friend trying to figure out one circle theorems question

I'm happy to leave but also super sad, bc I'm leaving all the familiarity behind. It's a really weird feeling

I wanna tell my crush I like her, but idek if she's into girls too

I want to tell my crush I like her, I've literally been crushing on her for months. I've been trying to subtly flirt, but I have the flirting skills of a rock so I don't know if she's even caught on at all.

I'm not sure how to ask her if she's into girls, whether I should ask one of my friends to ask her? I was going to write a note and give it to her in one of the lessons I sit next to her just saying that I like her, and leaving it up to her what she says/does, because I'm far too inelegant with words and awkward to speak to her

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks =)

Should I study geology?

I'm in school right now, but when I go to college I'm doing geography, biology and chemistry bc my 6th form doesnt offer geology :( I really love geology and loved learning about coastal and river formations in geography.

Geology seems like a really fun career to follow, and I'd like to become a paleontologist one day if I can.

What is geology like to study and do as a job, for geologists on here?

Seriously though, where my Eduqas english language people AT??

Ugh those transactional prompts were so good, I felt like a comedian in the one about living without smartphones, writing "If society cannot live without phones the human race would never have made it out of Africa as we would've died of boredom without tiktok to scroll"

I probably looked like a schitzo I started chuckling at my own joke in the exam 😞✌️

This actually happened 😭😭

I do higher, so I didn't get given the wrong paper, but everyone in the room (i'm in a small room wi 5 other people) who does foundation was given biology paper 2 by the exams officer. The only reason our invigilator realised was bc she was trying to figure out why the questions weren't right, because AQA had made a mistake apparently on the foundation physics papers 😭😭

We had to wait like 10 minutes to start because we had to wait for one of the SLT to come in so my invigilator could tell someone, then had to wait for the exams officer to get the correct papers.

Then the entire exam the exams officer kept coming in and whispering to our invigilator and our invigilator looked so stressed and worried the whole time, i felt kinda bad for her cause it wasn't really her fault, although she probably should've looked and checked it was phys and not bio.

This didn't happen in the main hall, just the small room, I was literally on the verge of tweaking out if we didn't start, 😭😭
