I recently switched up my roots to include more Earth and less Flower. Life has been a bit crazy lately so wanted to join this challenge to inject some fun into my process again! Do you think my roots match these images?
Experimented with body matrix as well. Used my Kitchener palette for colours. Kept it easy with long lines (🗻), cotton embroidery (🌱) and a mature, ethereal tone (🌙).
EJR has just claimed Kirsten Dunst as 🌸🏔️🍄 in her newsletter, while I saw her as someone with some (ethereal) moon (and an inspiration for my 🍄🌸🌙 roots). What do you think? I do see mountain elements in her more formal style (not in all her streetstyle looks, though). Do you think this is a case of 🏔️🌸 looking a bit 🌙, or a love of black and ethereal pastels doesn't make someone 🌙, or does it have to do with EJRs limited vision of 🌙, or something else?

Looking at EJR Pinterest boards I’m leaning towards 🍄☀️🌙? I thought 🍄⛰️🌙 at first. I’m less sure looking at the template tbh, I think it’s the amount of light/white backgrounds. I prefer a moodier, almost cinematic look if that makes sense. Second image is a personal style map I made a while ago (Gabrielle Arruda style) and the earrings on there are mine but the collection has shifted a bit since then as I don’t wear a lot of the acrylic ones anymore
I gravitate towards mostly black and navy with pops of color (chartreuse is one of my faves, purples are also up there), and don’t tend to wear a ton of pattern either. My 3 words are Simple, Striking, and Intriguing. I’d love some outside perspective!

After some time silently reading and watching all the inspiration here I tried to give that challenge a go too. (Bag, Season, Sport, Shoes, Jewellery, Transport, Lamp, Chocolate, Skincare). I'm stuck between 4 roots and can't narrow it down on my own. So I'm very excited to read your thoughts on it. Based on that moodboard, what style root combination comes to your mind?
After years of playing around with my style roots, I decided on ⛰️ 🍄 🔥 but for the past few months it has felt something was missing.
I started looking back at old photos and realised that for a long time I was 🍄 🌷 🌙 and then switched up to ⛰️ 🔥 🌙 (which is when I felt my most fabulous/best self).
I’m still deciding between ⛰️ 🍄 🌷 🔥 and 🌙 combos but the biggest draw back I had back then was that I struggled to know what to wear in summer, the 🌙 element just always felt too dark and not at all summery but 🌙 is by far my favourite root!
I’m sorry if this question has been asked before but does anyone have any advice with how to dress 🌙 in summer with the above roots? Not all of them at once, that’s asking too much but paired with each of them individually maybe?

I really love this combo, the 🌱🪨 can create a relaxed comfort that spans earthy to urban, with touches of skin, sensuality and structure from 🔥. Much like the "Beach Belle" energy from EJR's board.
The 🔥🪨 can give off a slinky "cool girl" feel to be paired with lots of 🌱 texture, patterns/motifs and some undone, floaty energy.
🔥🌱 can lean into romantic ruffles, rich textures a touch of mysticism and undone energy. The casual element of denim, zips/grommets/etc, oversize pieces and a touch of practicality can be adding from stone.
The combos easily leans to touches of ☀️ and 🌙 through the interactions and the earthy quality can allow it to be very casual to more formal/ structured.
My ideas for some muses could be Natascha McElhone( as well as her character Karen in Californication), Toni Garrn, Chrissy Teigen, @sofiaboman and someof the more casual and textural cool girl outfits of Rose Huntington- Whiteley, Emily Ratajkowski and Gigi Hadid. Plenty of outfits from Adrienne @sweeneestyle, Alisha Boe, outfits from TrendyCurvy can all fit here but start leaning into ☀️ territory.

I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on bring 🔥 to an outfit with overalls/dungarees. They fit perfectly with my 🪨🌸 style roots, but I’d love to incorporate my 🔥 root more.
Lately I’ve been trying to wear a spaghetti strap top underneath, paired with some nice jewellery (dangly earrings, a star necklace, a bracelet). I usually wear big sunglasses and red lipstick, so that’s very 🔥. Does anyone else have any more ideas? I’d love to hear!
hii i've been stuck on this for a while. when i first came across this system i thought i was definitely flower and fire and maybe moon. over time i don't think flower is that strong an influence, or at least overshadowed by fire...

Hello, here are some of my favorite outfits. I have a few ideas of my roots but would love feedback.
Lots of practical concerns here: 2 weeks holidays with my family, so pretty active. Another bad heatwave. No option to iron anything, so only travel-friendly items bc my 🍄 doesn't like any crease.
The pink dress and the grey jumpsuit are both from Patagonia and doing a lot of heavy work here!!
I also thrifted the birkenstocks specifically to match the NY cap and I love the resulting 'bookending' effect on my outfits.
Not pictured: a silver necklace with 3 engraved hearts, gift from my kids & husband.
All in all I like the capsule, and find it super relaxing to only have a few options to pick from! I also think 🪨 is my 4th Root so I am not surprised to see it appear!

I have been reevaluating my style roots lately, thinking I might have moon or mushroom, since my style can often look like those, but coming back to seeing the style roots as values or needs, I feel confident that the roots I settled on a year or so ago are my true roots: mountain, fire, earth. My foundational style needs are formality, sensuality and some texture and movement.
I made this style dictionary for myself some time ago and thought I’d share it, since I don’t think this combo is very common here.
