Just woke up, bleary-eyed and in need of a quick rant — whoever was setting off huge fireworks near 42nd street and Greenpoint Ave. from 4am to 4:30am (!!!) this morning, I hope your pillow is always warm and you are always awoken straight from REM sleep. I hope there’s always crumbs in your bed and your fitted sheets are always coming up at the corners. I hope your phone charger always gets unplugged in the middle of the night and I hope the water on your bedside table is never crisp or refreshing :)

Does anyone know how I can get rid of a tv and a printer? Tv works partially (some picture quality issues) and the printer is untested. Ideally somewhere close so that I don’t have to pay for a cab or for recycling.

i want to watch the macy’s fireworks but the crowds are turning me off. any ideas for good fireworks spots in or semi around sunnyside?

does anyone know why they haven't done the fireworks at the corner of 39th pl and 47th ave in front of the deli? me family and i have really enjoyed watching their fireworks and always feel like its a lot of fun that everyone is getting together to enjoy them. they didnt do it this year or the last. does anyone know why??

Anyone else have their power cut out for a moment?

Con Ed emergency crews are working to fix a blown transformer and line on 43rd avenue which has caused outages for the buildings on that block.

They will need people to move their parked cars in front of the corner of the Cambridge building, on 43rd ave and 42nd street (where the hydrant is in front of the Cambridge, where the red Con Ed truck parked and setting up cones, the North West corner) or they will be towed. The crews may need to dig up the street to make the repair. Spread the word!

At the 40th train station I’m worried for them in this heat :( I saw a baby pigeon all alone outside its nest or what used to be the nest in the nook of the roofing squawking. Just makes me sad even though I know it’s nature and they go through this every year but my human brain just wants to give them some ice water. I shouldn’t intervene? Agh, thank you for listening😩

Many cars were hit by a wrong way driver.

I’m just curious to know if anyone else has had encounters with this old man who seems perpetually angry about something. He pushes and shoves when boarding the 7 and nearly knocked me over when I was exiting. I’ve seen him mentioned in this space before so I was wondering what to think. Big Mets fan apparently. Short, walks with a limp and appears to have a perpetually stiff neck. Seen primarily on the north side of qb. I hope I’m not violating any rules with this post. Just curious more than anything.

Hi Sunnyside community - Does anyone know of any fun events in Sunnyside on the 4th? Or any bars that do something different / fun? We’re a couple w no kids for reference but open to do anything.

Also would love to hear if anyone had a great 4th at a place here last year.
