Current foster is saying he will take her back to ACC if someone doesn’t take her today as he has to leave the state for an emergency. They will euthanize her immediately. I adopted her the day she was going to be euthanized… she needs someone who’s not going to give up on her.

Here’s her background:

Chewy was abandoned this summer in a heatwave and in July. She was found under a car trying to escape burning pavement in Flatbush.

The police had picked her up so I went to the precinct to try and get her before they took her to a shelter, but ACC was the protocol. So I went to the shelter multiple times over the month. ACC put her on a special list that essentially made her unadoptable.
However, annoying persistence pays off and when they placed her on the euthanasia list, they had to call me and inform me. That day, I ran to the shelter and adopted her there’s something about her. She’s so sweet and that was not supposed to be her fate.
Because I rescue cats, keeping her at home isn’t an option and I was fortunate enough to find a very nice couple to foster her as I was acc adopting her. They were a temporary foster and so she was placed with her second foster about a week later where she has been since August unfortunately, that foster has an emergency that they need to tend to, and they need to leave the state for an unknown amount of time they have said that if they can’t find somebody by today, he is going to take her back to ACC. That is the absolute last place. I want her to be. They will put her down immediately so please if you are able to foster her please reach out to me. I would be so grateful if you have any friends, you can share this with please do and of course I will want to talk to you on the phone and get to know to make sure you’re the right fit for this.

The best person for this is going to have experience with Dogs already specifically with behavior. With me I’ve only seen her be sweet and while there hasn’t been an issue this month last month while she was being weaned off of trazodone, there was some guarding behavior that I would want to keep an eye on. I don’t want somebody who doesn’t have experience with this to take that on.
But since being off the medication she’d been much better. She deserves a break.

If you can foster this girl please help her. I’ve been trying to help her since she was at the police precinct. Her owner abandoned her and left her alone in the heatwave on 06/30. She’s at ACC in queens and scheduled for EUTHANASIA TODAY. If you are a foster or are connected with a rescue please dm me immediately

UPDATE: she is currently at ACC. I have been trying to take her home myself but the police had to follow proper protocol. So I’m planning to be at ACC when they open…..

****I also got confirmation that this dog was purposely abandoned around 4:20am yesterday….

She’s had an awful time and I’m really hoping this can have a happy ending. If you know any pitbull rescues or fosters who are equipped to handle this sort of thing, I please comment or DM me. I can’t keep her. But if m doing what I can to get her out of this mess.

Please share this so she can reunite with her owner. ACC has a 72 hour hold, but they can make exceptions for euthanasia if they deem the dog to be dangerous. She is afraid of men. Not women. Update is the dog is in police custody at the 67th precinct in Flatbush. The next step is taking her to a shelter and being a pit bull she’ll likely get put down quickly. Please share this so we can do something
