No New Year’s Eve Celebration for another year (December 31, 2026)

No New Year’s Eve Celebration for another year (December 31, 2026)

The "New Years Eve" event has not returned to TDR since December 31st 2019/January 1st 2020, and some of us held out some hope that it would return some day.

True story: I was there at the 2020 countdown and that year the Castle was partially scaffolded up due to renovations, and I always hoped to go back again when they do a new years countdown, without the construction walls.

But this year will not be the year.

TDR has just updated its event schedule and has officially confirmed that:

>“New Year’s Eve” at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea (on December 31, 2026) will not be presented.

So once again December 31st will just be a regular 9am-9pm day. The New Years event will officially start January 1st 2027 through January 11th 2027.

Final weeks of Aquatopia featuring Special Photo Props and Free Sticker!

If you’re heading to DisneySea this summer, there’s a really fun little bonus happening over at Aquatopia right now.

With the ride in its final two months before permanently closing after 9/14/2026 (and currently running the “Soaked” version), guests are starting to spot some special extras being shared on Japanese social media. There are themed signs you can hold up for photos, and even a collectible sticker being handed out during this period.

If you’re visiting this summer, definitely swing by and see if you can grab a sticker and snap a photo! It’s such a sweet little way to remember the attraction before it’s gone.

Frozen ride shutdown

Frozen ride was shut down for more than 5 hours today 😩. I don’t understand how that can happen after they finished their typical maintence last month

Pricing on VP

So, I was able to snag an unlimited VP this morning,.it went relatively smoothly compared to what I expected but I have two pricing related.queries.

First, on the hotel selection page the Porto Paradiso view rooms (even Piazza and Grand Piazza) were.showing less expensive than any Tuscany orr.Venice view room, even the entry level rooms. How was that possible?

Second, i understsnd estimated prices start as a bare minimum with no add ons. With that said can someone explain why my price went up from the estimate of 155,000 pp on the hotel section page to almost 169,000 pp (2 adults and a teen) at the final checkout. All I selected was popcorn,.default breakfast at Oceano and no restaurants either day were selected. Thoughts?

Help, what park??

Hi all! So i’ll be solo traveling to Japan for the first time in February 2027 for 28 days. For context I’m a 29y/o woman from the US, i’ve only been to Disney World once as a child and Disneyland once as a 20y/old. I have always loved Disney & Pixar movies, and enjoy watching videos on youtube of people visiting Disney parks, showing merch, snacks, etc. Also, I love rollercoasters/ thrilling rides! Since it’s so much cheaper in Japan I was planning on going to Tokyo Disney. Then I realized USJ has a lot of cool things too & more thrill rides. Do you think it would be worth it / doable to spend 1 day at TokyoDisney, 1 day at Disney Sea, and 1 day at USJ? Should I save USJ for another trip? Skip one of the disney parks? Would love to hear any other solo travelers opinions too. Thank you in advance!

Reminder of Upcoming Ride Closures: Rapzunel, Pooh's Hunny Hunt, Monsters Inc etc

Nothing new, but summer is about to commence at the Tokyo Disney Resort, and a large number of popular attractions will all go into planned maintenance all-at-once, so here is a heads up. July is a great time to visit for those willing to brave the heat, but it does come with some trade offs.

  • Pooh's Hunny Hunt - Closed 2026/6/30 to 2026/8/28 - Reopening 8/29
  • Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek - Closed 2026/7/1 to 2026/7/31 - Reopening 8/1
  • Rapunzel's Lantern Festival - Closed 2026/7/1 to 2026/7/24 - Reopening 7/25

In addition to these, for Fotress Explorations The Leonardo Challenge will also be closed the entire summer. It's a Small World is also now closed until 8/4 to remove the Groot/Marvel overlay. Indiana Jones is of course still closed indefinitely since last August.

Used a crowd calender to pick between dates so booked a Friday and Saturday, now I am wondering if I should have done weekdays instead??

The crowd calender showed the Friday and Saturday as being less crowded than the following days but I have been hearing a reading that Saturdays and maybe Fridays will be super packed regardless? For reference the dates are July 17th and 18th. It will be 4 of us including my 9 year old kiddo and is our second time coming. For disneysea which is the saturday one due to the crowd calender showing it as a minimally packed day, we still planned to show up a bit early to buy some premier passes but now I am wondering if we either need to change up our plans? Can anyone shed some light on this?

MONDAY, June 29 Report

My first day of two today (Monday) at DisneySea (plus one day complete at Tokyo Disneyland). A very unexpectedly busy park day. I have been looking at park planners and thrilldata reports. It was about 100% busier than anticipated. What that does is make it very difficult to navigate the park. I am not quite sure how I misjudged: perhaps the weak yen, social media and Fantasy Spring's increased hype has driven things even higher over the last months? Part of the problem is just my theme park ethos: I won't get in a 90+ minute line, and won't do a 45+ min line for a B attraction. Peak Hourly average times today were (in minutes):

Anna - 140

Tower of Terror - 143

Soaring - 158

Rupunzel's - 117

Raging Spirits - 118

Peter Pan's...Adventure - 97

Journey to the Centre of the Earth - 140

I'm not doing 2 and 3 hour waits for any ride. No way. Once DPA times start to push, that does make for long chunks of the day where it's hard to get anything done, even if you're willing to pay to play.

I see now that a 90 second ride for small children called Blowfish Balloon Race had a peak Hourly average wait time of 41 minutes. Who sees a wait time of 45 minutes for that ride with their small child and thinks that's a good idea?

As others have noted, the park saturates very quickly.

I was able to casually get 3 DPAs. I could have gotten more if I was more focused, which I guess is really the only solution - you have to be absolutely militant in getting in early and quick and locking DPAs before they start kicking off too far. If you get entry near the beginning you could book, use and rebook DPAs before half the people behind you have even gotten through the entry line.

Nonetheless, even if you were able to get 5 or 6 of those, that's still not a full day in my opinion. There were big gaps of the day where I felt stuck. The distances between places is huge so you don't want to ping pong like other parks. I still put in 20,000 steps, but got on about half as many rides as anticipated. I took a chance and didn't get DPAs or 40th anniversary tickets for rides with single rider. Worked for Raging Spirits and Peter Pan (a fantastic ride) but I never saw it open for Anna. Finally broke down at 7:30 PM and got in the standby, realized immediately I probably need to use the washroom before waiting for 90+ minutes and when I returned they refused entry. Dang!

So I did a lot of browsing shops, transportation rides and ate interesting popcorn. Pretty cool for sure. But even their filler rides were smashed today. 50 minutes for much of the day for Aquatopia. A big part of the fun of parks is 'beating the system' even just a little and searching out lower waits and getting on as many rides as I can. As others have noted, it's hard to do that at DisneySea. There just isn't enough rides. And unlike US parks, they intentionally start refusing entry long before park closure. Definitely steals one of the most magical things about 'sneaking one last ride' on a favourite.

For day 2, midweek this week, there will be no messing around. I will be there by 7:15 AM and I will be going straight to Fantasy Springs. Hopefully with luck I'll get DPAs and get single rider on Anna and maybe get on more than once. I would suggest someone with only one day should do that.

Just lastly, I did just one day at Tokyo Disneyland, and while it's not anywhere as good as Disneyland in California, I absolute had a good time. The Japanese don't seem as keen on Pirates and Haunted Mansion (good for me!) but they are absolutely obsessed with this pretty average Baymax ride. For the former two, a real ride fan could find parts of the day to do many repeated laps on those rides. Also managed to perfection using single rider on Beauty and the Beast (a flawed but significant attraction) and I see that the waits are even more manageable across that park mid week. The ride obsessed (current company included) could do a ton: but it seems a lot of foreign travellers do just 1 day - DisneySea. They have a new space mountain coming next year and hopefully they consider some additional proper thrill rides.

Thanks for reading my trip report, it's been fun writing about! Oh lastly, lastly, the Japanese for some reason are compelled to wave back - it's so earnest! They smile and wave back to people on the train, steam ship or gondola. I find it very endearing about this place and it's people. That and the fact that they care for their public spaces (without needing garbage cans) and have no visible homelessness or public drug consumption... but that is another thread for another time!

edit UPDATE: Day 2 Trip Report Second day at DisneySea following a day off. This was my last day at the parks and was a bit more organized. Rope dropped Starbucks at 7 AM and got in line shortly after that! Managed to secure a DPA for Anna early-ish, and then beelined straight for Peter Pan. Did it three times on single rider, and probably could have done more if I didn't have other things. Imho: the best ride in the park by a lot. Other rides might be more 'impressive' but I felt like a total kid on that ride. I could do that all day.

Learned some lessons from my first day, and set an alarm to buy a DPA every hour on the hour. This let me snag a bunch that I stacked from 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM. This made for a much better time. It also wasn't cheap if comparing to just the price of entrance: but even with all that, still cheaper than a US park with lightning lane.

The following has to be the number one tip (by a lot). If you are only coming with intention of doing just one day, and that day is at DisneySea, give serious thought to #1: taking another day for Tokyo Disney, or at the very least #2: go to Tokyo Disney the evening before on their after 5 PM to 9 PM discount ticket if it is available.

Here is why:

  • Tokyo Disneyland is great. You will get a lot done, especially on a weeknight. Go ride Pirates and Haunted Mansion 1,000 times and watch the cool parade

  • Most importantly, the app and payment system are janky AF. If you haven't entered a park before your one day at DisneySea it is going to come down to whether your Internet works right, and whether you can load and use your credit card properly. My actual first day was at Disneyland and I had two phones on two carriers and multiple payment methods and it still took 30 minutes to get things right. In those first minutes you risk your whole day at DisneySea if lots of rides are your priority, no joke. Way way less stressful if you just mosied casually in the day before, loaded your payment, bought something, and made sure it's all working. Truly I feel so strongly about this: if I had a group of people going and we just weren't going to go more than one day, I would have someone go burn a one day ticket to Disneyland at 8:55 PM the night before just to make sure everything was hooked up and worked right.

Anyhow with that rant over... It was a great day. Definitely an awesome time. Also definitely the most challenging theme park I have been to in terms of trying to secure the kind of day I want to have. I think someone asked me about the vacation packages and absolutely that would be awesome. But I probably spent only 10-20% of the cost of one of those.

Thanks again for reading my trip report. I hope your time is a success!

19/06/26 Visit thoughts (mostly a rant)

I’ve been to every Disney park around the world, including Aulani, so it’s very hard not to compare my experiences on my second visit here. In 2023 I did this park as a park hopper day on a second visit to the other park but probably only spent 4 hours in it taking pics and seeing characters. This time I devoted a full day to it.

POSITIVES
•from every Disneyland, the setting is the most beautiful. There’s moments were I felt like I was walking through Italy and New York that just felt so authentic and perfect.
•they do Agrabah the best from anywhere! This was my favorite land
•Fantasy Springs (Frozen, Tangled and Neverland) feel like pure Disney magic. These are newer lands and it reminds you what you love about the immersive worlds that Disney can build.
•those shots of the Mayan temples makes you want to plan a trip to Guatemala and Mexico
•Classic Disney songs sung in Japanese is so so so beautiful 😍
•Animatronics on the rides feel best in the world
•Cost wise $40 dollars tickets vs sometimes $150 a day in the USA. If the priority pass system actually works then buying passes for individual rides (usually about $10 to skip a 2 hour to 4 hour queue) feels like good value. If you’re lucky to get a mobile order or restaurant booking, the food is exceptionally well priced and tasty.
•popcorn flavours are exceptional and the bucket designs are cool and well priced
•if you like just walking around and absorb the atmosphere and have no plans for rides or food it’s the best park for you
•if you like Lina Belle, you can sacrifice a third of your park time to wait to be in the front of the line to watch her dance on stage with her friends

The Rant
- I get to the park 1.5 hours before it opens and the queue is 1.5km long (from train station to entrance)
- there’s no separate queue to enter for pre booked tickets or on the day
- only got into the park at 10am (1 hour late) which meant that I already queued 2.5 hours just to get in.
- despite having pre booked tickets, you can’t use any of the benefits such as booking ride slots or restaurants until after you scan your ticket.
- food places , even for snacks, use the mobile order or in app reservation system where you need to book collection slots but again you can’t access that till you’re in the park so you can’t plan your meal schedule in advance or get snacks when you want them.
- while the locals respect the purpose of the single rider queue, the staff do not. You could be just about to board the ride and it gets delayed for temp operational issues and you would have to leave and then you have to leave without a guaranteed return pass and then they can close single riders lane for that ride and you’d be screwed
- while the rest of Japan is so beautifully organised that it’s like an art, the Disney Parks are not. Somehow even the USA ones which are far larger feels more well run.
- in 2023 I was scared to go on most rides, but for this visit my goal was to tick off all the thrill rides. They are incredibly short and not much thrill and you don’t feel the adrenaline rush.
- Barely any photo pass moments and the two I found don’t even know how to load the single photo they took on the app.
- if you don’t speak Japanese, good luck if there are any important announcements made
- Getting in touch with guest services is an issue. Flagging issues with staff eventually gets you an email address which they endeavour to respond to in 14 working days. Guest services is a 25 minute walk from one end of the park to the other while navigating busy crowds on walkway and adults pushing you out of the way because they think they saw Lina Belle

Ride issues:
- tower of terror only has about 4 drops and rises. Intensity felt more akin to Toy Story parachute drop compared to Tower in other parks
- Tangled ride despite the massive queues only lasts under 2 mins
- Frozen ride follows same setting as Epcot but no thrill elements
-if you are about to board frozen when using the single rider queue and the ride gets delayed or maintenance checks , you have to leave without a getting an experience pass to return when it’s operational.
- Journey to the centre of the earth is supposed to be their flag ship ride but 90 percent of it is a dull slow train with a really sudden and quick unexpected drop at the end which slightly redeems it.
- the only inversion coaster , Raging Spirits, felt like about 45 seconds. The girl next to me said “this is a very dangerous and scary ride”.
- Peter Pan was the only ride I was able to ride on twice because I managed to get a priority pass and the single rider queue was 10 mins vs 120 mins. Slow ride with a badly synced 3D screen.
-you do not know what is going on in any expedition rides because there’s no translation.

Tokyo Disneyland Drone Show Is Coming (and Fantasyland Closes Early)

Tokyo Disneyland tip for summer: the new Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams drone finale is starting soon and it looks absolutely magical over Cinderella Castle. There has been some amazing spoiler test footage circulating on X, but I won't ruin it for you guys (just the official TDR photo here).

This is the special finale version of Tokyo Disneyland’s nighttime spectacular, running from July 2 through September 14, 2026. It extends the usual show to about 25 minutes total.

But heads‑up for anyone with sleepy kiddos or detailed touring plans: on nights when the drone version runs, routes through Fantasyland are closed from 8:30 p.m. until park close because that’s where the drones launch. The pic suggests things like Haunted Mansion and Small World might not be accessible.

So get your Fantasyland rides and castle‑side photos done earlier in the evening, then plan a more “front of park” night routine around the show so you’re not surprised by blocked paths at bedtime o’clock.

6/26 Visit - The Importance of Showing up Early

Hello all! It was my first time visiting DisneySea so I really wanted to make sure that we hit all of the rides that we wanted. I spent many moments browsing through this community to plan out our day so I appreciate all of the tips that were posted here.

6/26 - It was projected to rain all day but didn’t actually rain until the afternoon. We got to the park by 7:10ish; this was a tad later than when I wanted to arrive (originally wanted to get to the park by 6:45), but the queue to get in was not bad at all, maybe because people were expecting rain.

We ate our breakfast while in line, and time flew by quickly. We were early enough to get past the security checkpoint before park opening around 8:30ish. By the time we were scanned in, it was 9:03.

This is where the early arrival was so clutch. You can book DPAs one hour after the time of purchase OR if it hits your designated return time. I snagged Frozen for 9:15, just 15 minutes after park open. When 9:15 hit, it allowed me to snag Rapunzel for 9:30, and when 9:30 hit, we got Peter Pan for 10:00. Booked Soaring and Tower shortly after that.

We were able to ride all DPA rides except Toy Story Mania (skipped because we’re from SoCal and have ridden it many times) plus a few extra rides by 01:00. Spent 2.5 hours sightseeing and trying random foods and snacks via Mobile Order and left at 03:30p as the rain became heavier. We did not wait for more than 45 minutes for any attraction or food. This was all possible because of that initial Frozen DPA at 09:15 that allowed us to continuously acquire other DPAs in rapid succession. The super early arrival was tough but well worth it in the end.

December 1st-27th 2026 Vacation Package booking opens July 2, 2026, 3pm JST

December 1-27, 2026 Vacation Packages open for booking next week, July 2 2026, at 3pm JST.  Note 1: The Disney Christmas Event starts November 11. Note 2: The end of December/early January “new year holidays” period is a high peak period, and VP typically opens for booking separately another few weeks later. Note 3: Disneyland Electrical Parade is suspended on December 4th, so read into that what you may (e.g. whether it will be an early closing date.

Source: https://reserve.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/sp/news/detail/2764/?pagingNo=1

Happy Entry & Hotel Selection Reminder: Please remember that for December 2026, only Hotel MiraCosta and Fantasy Springs Hotel guests will get Happy Entry to DisneySea, so take that into consideration when choosing your VP hotel. Also remember, while all hotels provide Happy Entry to Disneyland, as there is no Happy Entry for day of check-in, so the only Vacation Package that can take advantage of Disneyland Happy Entry is the 2 Night 2 Park Days (Park ticket second and third day) package.

Key summary

All 5 of the Vacation Packages that were on sale for November 2026 will be available for booking for December 2026.

Closure alert

Before you book, always check the official closure list (https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdl/monthly/stop.html) to see if your favourite ride, parade or show will be down for maintenance before making your decisions.

  • Indiana Jones - 2025/8/18 - TBD [TDS]
  • Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall - 2026/10/1 - TBD [TDL]
  • Disneyland Electrical Parade - 2026/12/4 [TDL]
  • Sky Full of Colours Fireworks - 2026/12/4 [Both parks]

VP Chaining 101 (i.e. if 2 nights just isn't enough)

The 2N2D packages are great "Swiss army knife" packages that enables chaining of Vacation Packages together to enable longer packages.

You can book them in front (Ticket on Day 1 and Day 2 type) or behind (Ticket on Day 2 and Day 3 type) any other VP - even itself - to create a longer packaged vacation. For example, Unlimited VP + 2N2D (Ticket on Day 2 and Day 3) = 3 night 4 days vacation (TDL/TDS/TDL/TDS), or 2N3D + 2N2D = 4 night 5 days vacation (TDL/TDS/TDS/TDL/TDS). While technically they remain two separate package reservations, if you are careful to book the exact same room type/specification, it is almost like you had a longer package (just contact TDR to put a note informally linking them after booking).

Booking tips: Can I just set an alarm and go to the site at 3pm JST?

Not really! There is a queue system that is implemented when website traffic picks up. If you start at 3pm you might not get through until hours later. You might have to start checking the site from as early as 2pm JST until you find a session with the perfect queue exit time no earlier than 2.45pm-2.50pm.

Please also note that the TDR IT system does not perform well when it’s under load.  So even if you manage to get through the queue, you might get kicked out during the booking process.  You might want to stagger a few sessions 30 minutes apart (it is not a bad idea to have one that starts at e.g. 4pm, 5pm JST etc) as last month many people who got through around 3pm got kicked off eventually.

See experiences in the comments here.  See also more detailed tips: https://www.reddit.com/r/TokyoDisneySea/s/V6EylAKvM3

I manage to book the same room type as a standalone hotel room booking (before or after) my Vacation Package.  How do I notify the hotel to avoid changing rooms?

Once you have made all the reservations, use the official hotel online form (and under "Type of Inquiry" choose "Request to link multiple stays with different reservation numbers and assign them to the same room"), so you don't have to change rooms. The bookings will remain separate and nothing gets "combined". Your VP remains pre-paid and has different cancellation policies and deadlines compared to your hotel bookings (which is deposit only and remainder payable upon check-in).

IMPORTANT: Just double check to make sure you book rooms that has the identical room type/room name/floor range (if applicable), number of beds and room size (in m2) as otherwise it would result in a room change.

Under the “unlimited rides on eligible attractions” package, the description says “Enjoy churros, popcorn, or frozen dessert as much as you like!”  Do I get all of those in my package?

No, unfortunately! The operative word there is the “or”. Your entire party must choose just one type of snack ticket.  That is, either churros, or popcorn or frozen packaged desserts.  If you choose churros then you will not have any popcorn.  Everyone in your party will have the same ticket type and you cannot mix-and-match.  Not all snack ticket type is offered at all times (except during winter months there will not be any frozen dessert option).  See also this post here.

How are Vacation Package costs calculated, how the Beverage Ticket works, and are meals pre-paid?

See this post here.

Do I get popcorn or popcorn bucket with the Vacation Package?

See this post here.

Do I get Happy Entry (early entry) with a Vacation Package?

Not necessarily. It depends on which hotel you are booking as part of the package.

Back from our first time

What: I booked a Disney Vacation plan in February for my daughter and myself. Two nights at Fantasy Springs. Added a 3rd night at the OG Disneyland hotel at a later date. Bummer to move, but it's just the limitation of the package.

Frist, we went to Disney Sea on a Wednesday night on a 5pm-9pm ticket. We stayed maybe 3 hours, got our marbles a bit, had a few snacks, but rode nothing because the lines were insane.

On Thursday, we went to Disneyland on Happy Entry. We trammed over maybe...8am? security was easy and joined the Happy Entry hoard in the light rain. Used the combined LL-style app passes right upon entry and filled out the remaining rides that we needed. Got to Pirates first, right around 8:50am on standby. Maybe 20 people there, ride commenced at 9am sharp. Loved it! much like Disneyland in SoCal. I'll spare you the other rides, but we did pretty much every major attraction. Beauty and the Beast FTW! The light rain lasted a while, but it wasn't cold. We were super happy with our experience that day!

On Friday, Disney Sea on Happy Entry. Entry even quicker due to the Fantasy Springs entrance. Nice! It was a sunny day, not a cloud. We rode Rapunzel (really cool) at around 8:50am on standby, did Raging Spirits on standby no wait (kinda weak ride) twice (daughter wanted to do it again, 5 min wait), then made our 10am Frozen pass. Frozen was awesome, what a cool concept backward and forward. Loved it! As we started leaving Fantasy Springs, the massive amount of people from Disney Sea main entrance were infiltrating. It was insane, and already heating up. The sheer amount of umbrellas, rain or shine, is much like the sheer amount of strollers in SoCal. Just trying not to get my eyes poked out way too often by people checking their phones. We went on all the bigger attractions with the exception of Soaring. It just wouldn't show up on the purchasable pass even EARLY on, and the standby was minimum 120 mins and maxed out quite higher. The Japanese are VERY patient! Americans...nope. Rat race.

Tower of Terror...disappointment. I was hoping it would be like old SoCal Tower, but just went by so quick. The safety check lasted twice as long as the ride. It was the only time I was annoyed by an employee in the 2 days there. She just wouldn't stop talking and everyone was like what is going on, looking at each other. But employees in general...excellent and way more happy than in the USA lol.

Disney Sea was the end of 10 days in Japan for us, so between the hotter weather and the MASSIVE crowds and insane wait times...we left early afternoon, went back to the hotel lobby and had a chill meal there and both were happy :)

So for us, Disneyland was the highlight 100%. All the ride coordination paid off that day. Disney Sea ...yep newer and crowded just like SoCal Disneyland. But some of the areas are very open air like Disney World, so you roast when the sun bears down, thus thousands of umbrellas as far as the eye can see. Nowhere to hide but some random seating areas that are nice.

I think that's it! Hit me up with any questions. This post brought to you by the LL.

Trip Report June 22-24 w/ VP

Hello everybody,

I received lots of great tips and information regarding visiting Tokyo Disney Resort on this subreddit and wanted to share a trip report in case it’s helpful for others planning in the future.

We purchased a 3 park day, 2 night vacation package staying at the Miracosta. VPs seem to get a lot of criticism online for being more expensive than purchasing all items a la carte, but we felt like it delivered outsized value in terms of sheer convenience and opening up additional possibilities for us in the parks.

Monday, June 22nd - Disneyland

Stayed at the Hilton Tokyo Bay the night before (great hotel!), so no happy entry. We lined up at 7 am and found the wait to be manageable. We got into the park shortly after opening and were able to easily purchase DPAs for Beauty and the Beast and Mickey’s Magical Music World—you can purchase DPAs for attractions and parade/shows virtually at the same time and they have independent “cool down” systems. We also got a 40th anniversary pass for Pooh’s Hunny Hunt and, later, another one for Big Thunder Mountain. Around 10 AM, we purchased an additional DPA for the Electrical Parade. The rest of the day went like this:

* Monster’s Inc. Brief 20 minute standby queue at park opening. Highly recommend doing this right away. It’s close to the entrance and it seems like most people go further into the park, assumedly towards the headliners.

* Picked up popcorn bucket using VP voucher (we tried caramel, honey, black pepper, and garlic-scallop and butter and liked all except honey!) and grabbed little green dumplings

* Redeemed Pooh’s Hunny Hunt 40th Anniversary Pass. This ride was one of my party’s favorites across both parks!

* Met Mickey Mouse using VP voucher

* Lunch at Center Street Coffee House using VP voucher. We were served Baymax curry, cheesecake, and my choice of non-alcoholic drink. Cute and tasty lunch!

* Pirates of the Caribbean. Saw it had a 15 minute standby and hopped on

* Beauty and the Beast DPA. Incredible ride!

* Mickey’s Magical Music World. We were assigned middle section, 2nd row! Stunning show

* Beauty and the Beast using VP voucher

* Haunted Mansion. 20 minute standby

* Splash Mountain using VP voucher

* Dinner at Blue Bayou using VP voucher. One of our favorite meals!

* Redeemed Big Thunder Mountain 40th Anniversary Pass

* County Bear Jamboree standby. My first time ever on this ride, and it was an absolute blast experiencing it in Japanese, lol

* Pooh’s Hunny Hunt. 30 minute standby

* Electrical Parade DPA. The reserved section was nice but, most importantly, saved us time having to queue after dinner

I was worried about this day the most and was thrilled we got to do all we wanted—and a few things twice!

Tuesday, June 23rd & June 24th - DisneySea

7:30 breakfast at Oceano both days. Food was fine and timing was fine for us. I was worried about it being too late. We got in line for happy entry at about 8 AM both days and were among the first hundred or so people in the park. We went straight for Soarin’ both days and were on its first run of the day. The cast members do a small ceremony counting down the ride opening! Very cool to experience that. Here’s what we did over 2 days:

* Soarin’ 3 times (2 standby with 15 minute wait due to Happy Entry, 1 using VP voucher). Loved this way more than EPCOT! I did find the experience to be highly dependent on the seat you got. One time through was on the far outside of our row and the images were distorted.

* Frozen 2 times (1 VP voucher, 1 DPA)

* Rapunzel 1 time (DPA). I regretted buying a DPA for this. The standby line is also too long for what the ride is. I would probably only ride again if the standby line was 45 minutes or less.

* Peter Pan 4 times (2 DPA, 1 VP voucher, 1 5 minute standby right before park closing, lol). My personal favorite ride. Crushed my expectations. Outstanding! So whimsical, immersive, and fun.

* Toy Story Mania 1 time (DPA)

* Tower of Terror 2 times (1 DPA and 1 VP voucher). Awesome theme and preshow! Ride itself is somewhat boring.

* Journey to the Center of the Earth 1 time (VP voucher). This ride goes from 0 to 100, literally and figuratively, quickly!

* Sindbad 3 times (standby). Beautiful story and incredible music!

* 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 1 time (standby)

* Fortress Expeditions 1 time. Super cool exploring and discovering all the different rooms!

* Met Donald Duck. Took 20 minutes - quick and easy! These interactions are at a breakneck pace.

* Transit Steamliner. Awesome and unique way to see the park!

* Venetian Gondolas during golden hour. Absolutely beautiful!

* Believe! Sea of Dreams 2 times. Once from our Harbor view room in the Miracosta, once from a spot by Mount Prometheus.

* VP voucher dinners at Ristorante di Canaletto and Magellan’s. Both good, but probably wouldn’t choose to do this again. The VP sets felt limited and, to be honest, the service felt subpar because the staff knew we wouldn’t be adding anything else to our tab. We also ate lunch at Snuggly Duckling (strange!) and Vulcania (very good).

Miracosta’s theming and location are spectacular, but it feels somewhat dated in terms of the room itself. We stayed at the Toy Story Hotel the final night and, funnily enough, the modernity of that hotel makes some aspects seem nicer than the Miracosta. Check in was also significantly easier at the Toy Story Hotel. I don’t regret staying at Miracosta, but, if I come back, I’ll probably stay the whole trip at Toy Story or another Bayside hotel and save a buck.

We also used the beverage tickets about 30 times, lol. They are very easy to redeem at what felt like any mobile order restaurant. It also allowed us to sit and rest for a minute in some of the more popular restaurants and experience the theming.

The line skipping passes are really worth it in both parks. Unlike Disney World, I feel like they really get you onto rides quickly. I don’t think it took longer than 30 minutes from line entrance to ride exit for any ride we had a pass for.

With the VP and DPA/40th Anniversary Passes, we felt like we had the perfect TDR experience. I hope you have a wonderful experience too!

Mickey's Magical Music World: Unreserved Seats every performance this summer (7/1-9/14/2026)

Another day, another summer benefit announced for those brave or lucky enough to visit Tokyo Disneyland in the heat.

Mickey's Magical Music World is one of my all time favorite park theatre shows, and usually it is via Entry Request lottery or DPA only.

But from 7/1/26-9/14/26, all seats on the second floor will be available as unreserved seats, for every performance. That is amazing, in theory! The catch is that when this happened in the past, it just means you have to sit in a line/organised group on the floor outside the theatre for up to 2 hours before each performance, in order to claim those spots. Is it worth it? I hope they at least find everyone a shaded spot!

I believe Entry Requests are still available for 1/F seats, in addition to DPAs.

Where is mount Prometheus located?

Well, this might be more interesting to S.E.A fans... in the Mediterranean harbor area, which has Mt. Prometheus in the background, it is told that the mountain is set behind fortress explorations, located at porto paradiso in Italy.

Meanwhile, the area set in the volcano, Mysterious Island is park-wise captain Nemo's base, Vulcania, which is supposed to be set somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.

The thing that intrigues me most is that both areas are crutial to the S.E.A lore, which imagineers plan very elaborately. So.. I think I'm missing a piece of detail... Any ideas on this?
