I did not copy anyone’s work! I’m so worried. The thing is that I I once did get AI help and was flagged for it and now I think they’re not gonna believe me when I tell them I did not copy or get help. Can someone give me some guidance? I’m super worried.

Issues with placement

I really don't know where to start or if I'm just coming here to vent or see if someone has had the same issues. I applied for early clinicals in April and still haven't heard anything back. I was ok not getting something at that time mainly due to school ending in May. But now I'm at the point where the clinical facilitator has dropped all communication with me. Come to find out they changed the person but 3 weeks with no communication is a bit ridiculous. I talked to someone in the clinical team and while they said only the facilitator can help me they suggested looking at schools outside the not allowed contact, which I did and found a school immediately. I reached out to the clinical team and now they are not happy I reached out, told me I need to wait on my facilitator who hasn't contacted me or answered my emails in 3 weeks. I just want to start my clinical stuff so I can get this degree done and start teaching. I already had to put it off due to a bad car wreck and being in a wheelchair for months. If I knew applying for clinicals after finishing all my classes would be this much of a pain in my ass I would have just done it during my physical therapy and surgery recovery.

At what point did you get your liability insurance?

I am probably a month maybe two from completing all courses before the student teaching. Just did all the background and fingerprinting but idk if I should wait in the liability insurance since I still have to take ten praxis, right? I am in CA for context

Can anyone tell me what my next classes consist of?

Feeling burnt out from all of the GoReacts and Mursions lately. Trying to push through, but it feels repetitive at this point. Please tell me these last few courses aren't more of the same thing. I know a few recently changed from OA to PA, but any information is helpful.

Do I really need to take both Praxis tests for Advanced Clinicals/graduation?

I'm sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere! I've already completed my Basic Skills Praxis test(s) and have been cleared for Early Clinicals. However, when I look at the handbook, the Praxis required for WGU graduation is different than my state's licensing requirements (WGU calls for the Praxis 5039, and my state calls for the Praxis 5038). I actually completed the 5038 and passed it over the weekend. Am I really going to need to take the 5039, too?

I've asked my advisor this question and have not received a response. Just wanted to ask here in case I get a faster answer from you guys!

EDIT: I had a meeting with my one of my region's clinical coaches this morning (my mentor was useless, by the way; they just redirected me to the clinical coaches). WGU is revamping the requirements for state licensure and WGU graduation, and I will NOT have to do both.

Basic Skills Scores

Hey everyone,
I was wondering how long to took for the basic skills requirement to be populated on your clinical experience tab?

I completed the basic skills requirement on July 17th. I was going for August clinical window. I emailed on August 13th and I’m waiting to hear back. For reference, I emailed transcriptinfo@wgu.edu & scores@wgu.edu.

Thanks in advance!

Course Reflections

I am at the end of my 3rd course and this would be my second course reflection. I didn’t do the first one because I thought it was just something to do in your head, as it wasn’t graded. I now see that it is for every course!

Does everyone do the course reflection and does it matter for your portfolio or should I skip it?

I ask because I didn’t do the first one. I went back and looked and don’t really remember all the stuff I did for those assignments. Aka, I really don’t want to back pedal lol.

Student teaching in NY when you’ve already been a teacher for a decade?

I was accepted for the MAT program and it seems like a good choice but I was informed that I would need to complete student teaching even though I’ve been a teacher (and teacher of the year, two years ago) for the past ten years? Is that true? Is it possible to do “student teaching” in the school I’m currently at?

is it possible to complete 9 course and graduate in November?

I have 9 courses left, and then I can student-teach. I know you can participate in graduation if you are enrolled in the last 2 classes of your program, but is this plan possible? I have 50 days until registration for graduation is due, and I need to complete 9 courses before then. Is this doable?

What are the requirements are needed to be a college professor in Ontario?

Hello all! I have my BA and am wondering what additional schooling I’ll need to be a part time college professor. I’m currently on mat leave and plan to be a full time mom for the next 6ish years. In that time I’m hoping to complete all the schooling/requirements I need so that once my little one is old enough I can be a part time professor. I finished my 3 year BA with a double minor in social justice/peace studies and Gender/women’s studies. Ideally some kind of schooling online or night school would be great. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

I feel like I've done so much and still feel so behind.

Currently on my 3rd month of WGU for BAELED and so far I've completed my basic skills test and 33 credit units. I feel like I've done so much but there's still so much to do and my next FIVE courses all have OAs, I still have 87 CUs to do, do everything I need for my clinicals, and than my clinicals. I feel WAYYY behind. Does anyone else feel this way?

Orientation/Program Mentor

Hello! I gained access to my orientation today for start date of 09/01/2026. I completed my orientation and I’m waiting for my program mentor to be assigned. My question is, how long after completing orientation does it take to get a program mentor assigned? I understand that I cannot start my classes before 9/1. That’s not what the post is about. The post is about the ASSIGNMENT of a program mentor after completing orientation.

Don't like writing

I need some encouragement. I'm 34 and I'm considering pursuing a degree through Wgu in Elementary Education. I work as a Para currently and I know I can be a great teacher.

I struggle so much with writing. I'm scared that this degree will entail a ton of writing and I just don't know if I can do it. It's like I have a brain block. The words just don't come and it feels so foreign to me. I did take a comp class at a university when I first graduated high school and I'm honetsky hoping that will transfer in for at least that class. I'm just nervous. Is there a ton of essay assignment's through the course? And how difficult are we talking?

Praxis 5165

I am currently a student at WGU and am preparing for my initial clinical experiences. As I reside out of state (CA), I am required to complete additional examinations beyond the Praxis 5165 for advanced clinicals. I would like to begin studying for the Praxis now to complete one of the four required tests.

Could you please recommend some resources? Are there any YouTube playlists you would suggest? Are there any low-cost options available?

D673

I have been on this course longer than any other because I was terrified to take the exam and fail. I studied like crazy. I made flash cards. I went over soooo much stuff people recommended.

Then I started the exam and none of it was on there.

I had ONE question about the amendments (13th). I had zero questions about Gadsden Purchase. One about the Pacific Ocean. 4 or so about Latitude and Longitude. One about MLK Jrs I Have a Dream Speech. Several about maps. One about who Germany invaded to begin WW2. A bunch about actually TEACHING history/social studies. 3 or 4 about Greek Philosophers. One about Jamestown & one about Lexington & concord. One about the triple entente in WW1. A few about the roles of the branches of govt but worded in a way to confuse you. A few about monarchies. I’m sure there are some I’m forgetting but I somehow managed to pass.

You CAN do it!
