My cousin and I have been building random stuff on a slumber island together. We just finished our boardwalk carnival!
So Believe it or not I’m relatively new to ACNH, in the big 2026. I wanted help getting yellow themed Japanese style island together, but 2 big issues; I do not have online, and I do not have Nook’s Cranny yet. I am working towards Nook’s as I write this, but while I’m here, I wanted to ask;
What should my layout be, what theme(s) can I go for, and what would my matching villagers be? I know I might want to try for someone like Shino, who inspired me to do this, but who else could I have? I’m sorry if this isn’t what is usually allowed on this sub, I’m just trying to understand designing an island in ACNH, it’s been a few years since I’ve played😅
See red box! I cannot scuff out, re-tile with grass, or put any other design in its place. I put it there months ago with no problem. wtf?? Anyone have a truck up their sleeve?
FIRSTLY: Yes I have used Pinterest, Yes I used Happy Island Designer, Yes I have used my imagination, Yes I have spent multiple weeks watching tutorials and trying to do what I have learnt in game. And I still am struggling. 😪
The vibe/aesthetic I would love is in the pictures above! I love the misty, rainy, gloomy, forest, rocky, dark wood vibe!
I am first planning to work on my entrance and the path to resident services. Then possibly on where to place shops and buildings, along with my residents homes.
I do have more specific ideas and pictures and ideas for how I want some of my lay out and placement to be which I will send if anyone is interested in helping via dm.
I am aware other players can’t physically do the building for me, I just really need some help with the following:
- Planning out my island (whether its using a website that is to plan your island out or anything else)
- Possibly able to slightly break down instructions, or provide examples (for example I have tried multiple times to build a waterfall entrance using pictures from Pinterest as a guide but I was physically unable to do it, I could not properly scale it, I couldn’t figure out how they made certain shapes or were able to place certain things etc) - THIS ONE IS NOT A REQUIREMENT! IM HAPPY WITH JUST HELP PLANNING!
- Possibly recommending what custom design paths go where etc, and help picking ones to use
-Also if it’s possible, if it’s something to do with layout planning etc, it would also be great to have a estimate of squares (I don’t know math terms but basically just the amount of sq x sq is required)
And anything else. Sorry this sounds so demanding I am just terrible at explaining things! 🩵
This is on Taechon, my Korean forestcore island! 😊 I've tried to make the house look a little bit more modern in comparison to the others haha.

Moved stuff around, there’s much fewer crops now because I loved farming too close to the sun and made a few TOO many bells. I don’t wanna be bezos, it’s fun to have a reason to care. Anyway, there it is! ^___^
I used the word hire because I didn’t know how else to ask, I’m just wanting to know if there’s a site or community where I can request help with some of my design. I’m not sure if someone can physically do it for me, or there’s an alternative? I’m fine with what ever honestly!
I am a newer player, and I have been trying to begin designing my island (only the entry bit and the walk way too resident services) but I cannot do it for the life of me, I’ve spend days trying to even lay one path down but every time I try it turns out terrible. I just needed some help with these two parts then I will eventually do the rest of the island myself.

How did you add whimsy to your island? I’m looking for inspiration to add a little whimsy to my new island while building on someone of the ideas I had of my first island.
I love my Spooky Island so much. A lot of work went into it and I wanted to share it with you all
i’m only a few months into playing acnh for the first time and it’s taken me an age to finish even one part of my island to my liking! this is the first area ive completed, a little survivor style beach entrance with some lil details but nothing that restricts movement too much bc i always be running into stuff or picking it up on accident

I just finished Keaton's beach front cafe and condo...unfortunately I couldn't really give him a beach location since they were all taken, but the boardwalk location is cute.
