Hey friends! It’s been a little while!

As promised, I’m here to let you all know that we’ve officially reached 20 chapters, and we’ve actually been fully disconnected from the original storyline for quite some time now.

Villains revealed. Changing mindsets. New encounters...
Things are moving fast!

Context:
For those who just got here, I’m Brendon G, and I’m rewriting Part 2 as a fanfic while aiming to make it feel as close to a Light Novel as possible (structure, storytelling, and soon, illustrations too). You can check out my art here, as well as some of the CSM stuff I’ve already made here.

I’m also the editor behind that alternative Chapter 232 that came out a few days before the original and got kinda popular for a while (even though I made it mostly as a ship joke haha), and I’m a writer in my spare time.

After all, I’m basically just another member of the community, but I genuinely want to pour my love into creating something that leaves both me and whoever reads it with the memory of a warm and interesting alternate story.

I’m not trying to “fix” or “improve” the ending or anything like that, mainly because I think Fujimoto knew exactly what he was doing, and well, he’s the author. My goal is more about giving people some of the things I personally wanted to see as a fan, but never got to - Asaden, Power, Kishibe, Reze, Primals, and so on.

So ever since the final chapter released, I’ve been writing and posting new chapters every 1–2 days for my fanfic rewrite of Part 2, which I named Chainsaw Man R, or Part 2 Reimagined.

Lost Brother and Sister. Seriously, am I the only one who sees similarities between Shinji and Asa? Judge for yourself.

We all remember what happened in the end: one was hurt by Angel, the other left, the third became GIANT NAKED. Only Asuka remained. In Asa's case: there's Yuko, her only friend, probably her entire life, and Asa doesn't even know about her fate, and a very complicated relationship with Denji, permeated by their shared schizophrenia.

But driven into a fugue state, he abandoned his instrumentality when he was properly talked to. I like the analogy of someone who's been systematically driven to suicide, then given a gun, and pulls the trigger. Then they blame that person for their own suicide. Gendo is a bastard, I'd like to rip his balls off.

One difference: Asa is almost universally loved (deservedly, but not enough; everyone needs to love her), while Shinji... Everyone hates Shinji because he's a "whiner, a gooner," and God knows what else.

Damn, now I want a fanfic where Shinji is Asa's cousin and lives with her before the events of Evangelion. Like in the manga, where he lived with his aunt and uncle.

Whoever writes about the hospital scene will have to do 20 push-ups
