While we’re grieving for Denji, people on dandadanfolk are watching their goat getting absolutely bodied by a seal 🥀🥀🥀

Bro, I didn't expect how much emotional damage that simple phrase would cause some people HAHA sorry bros.
Algumas obras sao feitas para os fãs (ou seja, o criador respeita mais o material, pq ele tem reverencia por esse material, e quer contar essa historia em outra midia, com seu olhar sobre o drama, ação e etc em termos de cinema/musica/encenação) e;
In the old style, by me :3 ❤️
My heart and love togedah ❤️❤️❤️
My daughter colored a little pochita that I drew haha

Bro what a hell of allat of work. im gonna need ma woman to pamper me for a whole week to recover when its all over
Oh gosh its been a month and i cant stop thinking what they could have been 🥀🥀🥀
Hello friends, some of you may have seen this work in other subs.
Not with the intention of correcting anything, and without any pretension, but only the desire to reimagine the story oriented towards things that I, as a fan, would have liked to see (such as Denji and Asa maturing and winning once in their lives, Death being a truly impactful villain, an arc exploring hell, the return of Reze, Kobeni and others, and more and more) I embraced the idea of rewriting the entire Part 2 as a Light Novel.
This is currently a fanfic. It's important to point out that sometimes I call it a light novel because that better conveys my ultimate intention, which is to physically bind it in A5 size, with one or two manga-style illustrations per chapter. You can see how I work trying to capture CSM's style here: https://x.com/AuthorBrendonG/status/2037519298705449047?s=20
For convenience and comfort, I am posting it on AO3, but I intend to release it in the future, when one of the 3 main arcs is complete (we are on the first - Fakesaw Man!), to release it in book format. Organized, formatted, in A5 and etc., which, according to my recent tests, is already showing approximately 150 pages!
To give you an idea, the next two chapters already put us on Aquarium Date! So the story is progressing quickly (approximately 15 pages per chapter, equivalent to two manga chapters).
I want to thank my friends who have been supporting me so far, and you who are paying attention, and I hope you enjoy my version of the story.
>I need to emphasize that it is VERY IMPORTANT that you read the Preface if you want to follow this fanfic. I know that some more intense fans might look at this and think I'm trying to correct the original in some way, as if I could compare myself to Fujimoto, but that's the wrong impression of what I'm doing. The Preface has a very clear explanation about this, about the intention of the project, my respect for Fuji-sensei, and how special CSM is to me. So if you think this is some kind of pretension, you clearly ignored the literal first page of the project (that is, you didn't even open it. You only read the title and judged it based on that).
I am a small writer in Brazil, and I am working as professionally as I can in my free time on this fic, so the preface not only clarifies some possible questions that may arise, but also gives greater clarity to the objective of this huge project! Pls, do NOT ignore it.
Thank you friends! :)
I think it's a good idea for us to move away from this conversation of "But look, trauma does x and y things to a person, so it's normal that z things happen to them, etc." And talk about this from a scriptwriting perspective. After all, this isn't a documentary. Fujimoto didn't do these things with Denji "to document the precise reaction of an addicted person." He was guiding the story in some direction.
So let's be direct: From a scriptwriting perspective, Fujimoto clearly builds Denji up to the Church arc, making him confront the desire to be Chainsaw Man against a normal life. When everything results in Nayuta's death and Denji's breakdown, it becomes clear that what he's doing, scriptwritingly, is punishing the character so he can progress. He's saying to the character, "You're still undecided even now, at the crucial moment, and now, look what your immaturity has caused. Do you still want this? Do you want this to happen again?"
This is a fairly common moment in the scope of heroes who refuse the call, quite common in the Hero's Journey itself, which is almost an addiction in Western cinema.
After that, in the Aging arc, we see Denji catching his breath to continue. He connects a little more with Asa, finds his own way out of the pit ("if you take my family away, I can always have another") and start over.
When this moment is finally overcome and Denji is alone with Yoru for some time, we see that, even though he has caught his breath, he is still destroyed inside, to the point of crying because "there is still someone in the world who likes him".
Up to this point, we don't have regression. We have progress. Denji is going through a process of self-analysis and reworking of what he sees for his own destiny, based on all the consequences he has had.
Just like in real life, after being a reckless young person many times, and finally doing something that crosses the line, or simply failing to prevent it, makes us self-analyze and rethink in order to improve. (Famous movie trope. The reckless boy who makes countless mistakes, but one day, when he starts to connect with someone, love or mentor, and begins to think about the right things, he ends up participating in an event that causes irreversible harm, and it wasn't even intentional, but nobody expects better from him and he himself feels guilty for not only not having prevented it, but for not having been a better person up to that point. So, near the end of the film, he has a self-analytical arc, which usually leads him to want to sacrifice himself. We see something similar in Scent of a Woman, with Charlie Simms. Despite Charlie being a sweet, calm boy, he still firmly believes in covering for the boys who are plotting against him, simply because he doesn't want to be the one who rats people out).
That's precisely why, and to prove Fujimoto's point and intention, the Fire Devil appears EXACTLY at that moment, serving as a "Secret Cave," presenting Denji with choices and showing that there's still time to resolve everything.
It is HERE that things strangely change.
Instead of having the realization of Denji's self-analysis and his desire to do something, whether it's conquering his life or the right to be the Chainsaw Man now (Selfish Path), or trying to stop Yoru once and for all and resolve all the chaos, even if it results in his death, since he no longer has anyone he loves (like Powy) (Altruistic Path), what we have is Yoshida's death at the moment Denji is going through his choice (Lil'D or Yoru).
Yoshida's death causes Denji's transformation into a pochita, and I can't say why. Denji becomes a pochita when his pact is broken. When he accepts that he can't have the life he wants, the normal life the pact promises, and to prevent Denji's death as retaliation for the pact (I suppose), Pochita breaks through and takes control.
My assumption is that it wasn't Yoshida who caused this, but Barem, there representing the evil that "will always come back to destroy your life." Barem there represents Makima's phrase about "If one day you have a normal life, and even a wife and children, I will take them away from you." So Barem, present there, represents for Denji, incarnate, the message that "you can't have a normal life." That's why he transforms and kills Barem.
Obviously, this is the strange point, because we don't have an active response from Denji, even after such a DEEP arc of emotional breakdowns, self-analysis and analysis of his own life, and now, a new final breakdown.
What is expected (and consistent here) is that Asa finds Denji, in the subconscious, in the same state that Powy found him: Distressed, in total resignation, even with a certain satisfaction. "I've already done everything I had to do. I have nothing good left to have, and I don't even deserve it anymore. And even if I continue, you won't be there."
But no.
What we have is Denji... okay? I would say, calm, with Pochita in control of the situation. We manage to ignore some of Denji's apathy because, soon after, FINALLY the payment for the entire arc of self-analysis happens: Denji understands what he wants to do. He understands that he suffered, understands what is his fault and what is not, and above all, that he wants to continue living. And he wants Asa to continue living as well.
Here, we have the peak of Denji's reflection arc, and it's even well illustrated, with Asa being swallowed by the light that takes over the place when she and Denji hold hands, with him promising "to assassinate Yoru so that she can be free in the new world that he and Pochita will create, where they can finally have a truly normal life."
Up to this point, all the falls, subversions, exchanges, etc., are justifiable. Everything leads to this maturity being born in Denji.
Unlike what many say, Pochita and Denji merging as Denjiman IS NOT A NEGATIVE THING. IT IS NOT DENJI GIVING IN TO HIS ADDICTION.
Denji at this moment is fully aligned in his thoughts with Pochita. Let's remember that Pochita's desire was "to devour devils to make the world a better place." That's what he did. And where help had been sought, he emerged as a fury and punishment, the Hero of Hell.
Denji and Pochita here are perfectly aligned in their desire to eliminate the greatest devils in their path and create a better world once and for all, for themselves and for Asa.
THAT'S WHY they merge. Both are in sync in being "The Hero of Hell" here.
THIS IS PRECISELY THE POINT WHERE EVERYTHING REVERSES.
For some reason I can't explain, and I have assumptions, Fujimoto chooses, at this moment, what he does in chapter 229.
Delivering a plot twist to the readers, at the climax of the fight, at the moment where Yoru lost and it's the moment of the final decision that will either save what can still be saved of the world, or ruin everything completely, Denji, contradicting all the evolution he had up to that point, and his promise, chooses to revive Yoru so he can have sex.
And thanks to this and his insistence on it, Pochita ends up sacrificing himself and resetting the world.
My assumption is that the idea here was to apply the Big Lebowski effect. That is, the "movie" ending abruptly, with the character still being the "jerk" he is. The evolution is there, we saw him change and understand new things, but in the end, he's still him, and the story ends abruptly.
And that's what happens here. Denji evolved, learned, etc., but in the end, he's still him, and he continues to be a jerk at the end, and this causes an abrupt ending.
But since this is a manga and not a movie, it can't just end on a black screen. So, Fujimoto leaves us with a prologue to a new reality, where Denji and Asa can finally have a new life, with pros and cons, but free from the world's spotlight.
Having said all this, the conclusion I reach is: YES, Denji regressed. But this regression only happened AT THE VERY LAST MOMENT OF THE STORY. Throughout Part 2, it showed quite consistent development. But, for personal reasons of Fujimoto's that we'll never know, he chose to end the work as The Big Lebowski, and not as Vanilla Sky, unfortunately.
Thanks to my friend from sub for suggesting I make Himeno and Angel compete for Aki. It was really funny lol
