MacBook stuck on startup screen.

Hello
I installed bootcamp onto my MacBook a couple weeks ago, and everything seemed fine.
Last night, the MacBook restarted due to some error, and now it won’t stop trying to startup. The fans are on full blast now too.
I know very little about computers and I’m scared that I may have done something so severe that I need a new laptop. Please help.
Thank you.

Hello, I'm planning on installing Windows 10 using Bootcamp to an external drive that my Late 2015 iMac patched with OCLP to MacOS Sequoia is currently booting on. Not sure how to, though.

I have a Late 2015 5K Display iMac (info that had a failed SSD, so I boot it on an external SSD (a 500 gigabyte Samsung 870 EVO in an enclosure) plugged in through one of the USB ports, and a few months ago I patched it with OCLP to run Sequoia, and it has appeared to run fine.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to use Bootcamp to partition the drive, install Bootcamp, and when all is done I can boot up onto the drive and switch between Windows or MacOS. This is the only computer I have available, and I do not plan on replacing the internal drive before looking at what other options I have before buying a new drive. Thank you for reading, I hope someone can help me here.

Valorant says TPM 2.0 is missing, but Device Manager shows TPM 2.0 (2019 MacBook Pro Boot Camp)

Hi everyone,

I'm using a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro (MacBookPro16,1) running Windows 10 Pro 22H2 through Boot Camp.

A few days ago, I was playing Valorant normally. In the middle of playing, I suddenly got kicked out of the game and started receiving the VAN: RESTRICTION error saying my system doesn't meet the required security requirements, specifically TPM 2.0.

I never changed any BIOS settings or hardware. The issue just appeared out of nowhere while I was playing.

Since then I've tried almost everything:

  • Reinstalled Windows 10.
  • Reinstalled Boot Camp drivers.
  • Reinstalled Riot Vanguard.
  • Enabled UEFI.
  • Enabled Secure Boot.
  • Updated Windows completely.

My current system configuration is:

  • Windows 10 Pro 22H2
  • BIOS Mode: UEFI
  • Secure Boot: ON

The confusing part is the TPM.

In Device Manager, I can see:
Trusted Platform Module 2.0

and Windows says:
"This device is working properly."

But when I open tpm.msc, I get:
"Compatible TPM cannot be found."

And PowerShell returns:

Get-Tpm

Output:

TpmPresent : False
TpmReady : False
TpmEnabled : False

So Device Manager says TPM 2.0 exists, but Windows itself says there is no compatible TPM, which causes Valorant/Vanguard to fail the security check.

I'm trying to figure out:

  • Has anyone with an Intel MacBook Pro running Boot Camp managed to get TPM working correctly?
  • Has anyone recently started getting the same Valorant TPM issue even though the game worked before?
  • Is this a Boot Camp limitation, a Windows issue, or something Riot changed in Vanguard?

If anyone has experienced this or found a solution, I'd really appreciate any advice. At this point, I'm trying to determine whether this is something that can actually be fixed or if Boot Camp simply no longer satisfies Valorant's TPM requirement.

Thanks!

I MADE THIS OPEN SOURCE APP FOR INTEL MAC USERS USING WINDOWS

For a while I couldn't find a good free option to control fan speeds on my intel Mac on windows, so I wrote my own, and I'm sharing it in case it's useful to anyone in the same situation.

It's called RPMac. It talks to the Mac's SMC directly to read fan speeds and temperatures, and lets you set each fan to Automatic, Maximum, a fixed RPM, or a temperature curve (ramp the RPM between a min and max temperature on a sensor you pick). It also has an optional on-screen overlay for RPM/temps, light/dark themes, and a small command-line tool if you'd rather script it.

Honest limitations: I've only been able to verify it on a couple of Mac Pros, so I'd really appreciate reports from other models (whether it works or not both are useful). Macs with the T2 chip (2018–2020) aren't supported yet; the T2 changes how the SMC is reached and I'm still working on that.

Source and downloads are here: https://github.com/golirt1/RPMAC/tree/main

Not selling anything just hoping it helps someone and that the feedback makes it more reliable across different Macs. Happy to answer questions.

Wiping macOS and replacing it with linux

My machine is a 15" MacBook Pro mid-2015, it currently has macOS Sequoia (with OCLP) and windows 11 installed via bootcamp.

Since now I have a new Mac, I want to wipe all macOS and replace it with a linux distribution (Ideally ubuntu or mint), preserving my bootcamp Windows 11, so I could have a native windows + linux machine.

What is the correct procedure to do it? I have installed linux before on windows machines, I'm familiar with deleting and creating partitions for dual booting.

Is it a regular procedure, or do bootcamp and OCLP add extra steps?

MacBook Pro 2019 16 - Running Windows 11 Bootcamp

macOS Tahoe 26 ran so badly on my MacBook, that I was almost going to upgrade my perfectly fine machine.

Decided that this was a great excuse to try Bootcamp out for the first time, and with a few days of setting it up and optimizing the temperatures/undervolting, it has genuinely breathed fresh life onto this thing.

Take this as a bit of an appreciation post, but please let me know of any questions that you may have! I'll be happy to answer.

Bluetooth issues 2015 Macbook Pro running Windows 10

Hi everyone,

I’m using a 2015 Intel-based 15-inch MacBook Pro running Windows 10 through Boot Camp. Overall, the machine still performs very well given its age, but I’ve been running into a Bluetooth issue with my keyboard.

The keyboard is Bluetooth, and the only way I can get it to recognize properly in Windows is by fully shutting down the machine and turning it back on several times. After a few shutdowns and restarts, the keyboard will eventually connect and work normally. This does not seem to happen on the macOS side, so I’m wondering if it may be related to a Windows power-management setting, Bluetooth driver, or Boot Camp driver issue.

Has anyone else experienced this with Bluetooth devices on Boot Camp, especially on older Intel MacBook Pros? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Running windows on 2019 IMac

Here’s what’s going on, the internal drive is so so so SOOO slow. (It is currently running windows 10) I was wondering if I could get a king spec NVME and get a ugreen 40gbs thunderbolt adapter and use that to run windows 10. Is that possible? If so how do I do it? Can I clone the drive in there right now to the NVME? Thoughts?
