Would you try and restore this 1989 Ford Bronco Metropolitan?

She is ROUGH!
But… this is my family’s Ford Bronco Metropolitan that my dad originally bought in 1994. I grew up driving this and we went on countless vacations. My dad sold it when I graduated high school. 20 years later, I found her and bought her back. I want to restore her. Several people have told me to walk away, “she is too far gone”. What do you think? I’m going to try and find another Metropolitan to merge the two, but I know that might be difficult…

Update: Test Drove Bronco, I'm absolute IN LOVE... (and shocked)

Folks, I've posted the last couple of days initially comparing Wrangler vs Bronco, and comparing whether a Bronco even makes sense given my commute. I test drove a Wrangler, and liked it a lot.

Test drove a Bronco today, holy shit. It's the first time ive ever smiled the entire time test driving a car. I've changed cars 4 times in the last 5 years lol (bad habit), and this is the first time I was in love.

The ride height was incredible fun, I was ripping the 4 cylinder and it was really fun to drive even if not insanely fast, being able to go over curbs if I want and crush snow, and it drove like a cloud (am I crazy for saying that?). I am in LOVE.

I am now planning on leasing one. I seem to be getting a good deal, 2.99 APR, 1250 of free accessories (using on mats and a step bars), they're taking an additional 900 off, but also giving me 2k more than any other dealership on my trade lol.

It's the 2026 Bronco Big Bend, with the hard top. Residual is 58% and lease payments are absurdly low for what it is.

Anyone have any objections on the deal, or anything? I only drove it a few minutes, gonna test drive again on monday on highway since that say commute, but man am I in awe.

Finally took my top off and I love it

I’ve owned a few classic broncos and never wanted to mess with or ruin the seals on the tops by taking it off, but with the recent heat wave it seemed like a good idea. So I finally pulled the trigger and I don’t think I’ll be putting it back on again until it snows! It was also a lot easier than I anticipated, not only in removing the hardware but the top was a lot lighter than I expected.

Looking for badge replacement/overlay

Hey all, my wife wants to swap out the blue ford oval on the tailgate for one that is avalanche/black coloured. We are in Canada and I have not had much luck searching, they all seem to just be two tone black overlays. If anybody has good recommendations let me know 😁

Gobi Stealth Roof Rack

Finally got my Gobi Stealth Roof Rack and installed it on my '22 Black Diamond and wanted to share a quick review.

Overall, absolutely love the product.

Pros:

●Very well built/high quality with the exception of the hardware.

●Sturdy and very secure and to the frame.

●10/10 aesthetic.

●Ample weight capacity. I'm using an iKamper SkyCamp 4.0 RTT with my partner and 4 dogs, zero issues.

●Purchased the quick release for the soft top. Takes a few minutes to go through the removal process, but would be way worse without it. I opted for this rack primarily for this feature with the softop.

Cons:

●Gobi customer service is notoriously bad. I can confirm, it was less than pleasant.

●Turnaround time, again as reputation precedes, is super slow. Took an additional month to their 6-8 week advertised lead time.

●Install took about 8 hours, mainly because the instructions were ass and I had to shear 3 bolts off to go back a few steps (and the accompanying run to Autozone and Lowe's for replacement hardware).

●Wind noise on the highway is pretty extreme on the softop. Looking into some wind deflection for now.

How much would a fair price be if I sold this 1990 Metropolitan as is? It was a running 351w 4x4

I made a small off-road trail in Northern VT for my Bronco

I bought some land in northern VT that came with a severely overgrown logging trail. Over the past month, I've been back there with chainsaw and brush trimmer cleaning it up and finally cleared enough to drive on. This is my first time taking the car off roading aside from the class 3 dirt roads here. I'm gonna keep clearing and when all is said and done should have about 2 mi of trail, in-and-out.

37 inch tires on my 22’ Bronco Sasquatch big bend

Just wondering if anyone else had done this and if they had rubbing from the 37s. I haven’t had any issues so far but installed 1 inch spacers on it prior so maybe that helped. The sas package had a 2 inch lift and crash bars removed so it was easy putting them on. Love the look so far!

Took the rear top off for the first time.

Got a lift for Father’s Day and was able to take the top off by myself. Ordered a Bimini top from Bronco Bikini which should get here in a week or so. Had the windows tinted a week ago. Done with mods for the year. Last year put thousands into the stereo as I hated the stock stereo.
