Fiat 124 Spider Abarth 2020 (Carvana)

***Update***

Greetings from Los Angeles!

Carvana delivered Fiat 124 Spider Abarth 2020 yesterday. It was an exchange from Fiat 124 Spider Abarth 2018.

The delivery guy told me they were surprised about the damage infront. Looks like damage from tow hook (I dont know how).

Carvana already approved to take care of the damage thru Silver Rock (Insurance) free pf charge within 60 days.

Drive the car and super love it! However I am very worried about the damage may have cause something in the engine system.

When I checked the engine the hose needs to be replaced.

Can Anyone tell me what this hose for?

Can anyone tell me what’s happening? (BRAKE!)

It’s not consistent, but sometimes when I accelerate progressively that brake light will come on and then go away after a few. I do have a video of it, but it will not let me post it for some reason and I can assure you, my parking brake is not engaged.

Brake Feel [1979]

Despite having my car for almost 3 months now, I've yet to be able to take it on the road due to required repairs and whatnot.

However, I was driving it up and down my driveway a few minutes ago so its not just sitting in one spot and I was having a very hard time feeling much of any stopping power from the brakes.
I'm a new manual driver as well I should mention, so maybe there's just things I haven't learned yet, but do these cars come with drums on all the wheels or is it front disc rear drum?

I got a bit nervous and ended up stalling once or twice just because I didn't feel that the car was really stopping. I'm also worried I'm burning up the clutch, which is probably true because I had been holding it like halfway it so I didn't fly into the road or my garage door, but I know I shouldn't be doing that regularly.

I probably just need to learn better clutch control and also take the wheels off just to check the brake condition.

Clutch question

So I had a weird thing happen today and I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I pushed down on the clutch pedal and it stuck there. Lifted my foot off of it and it stayed depressed. I had to lift it up with my hand and it sprang back to normal.

Looking for Owner Testimonials Fiat vs Abarth vs MX5

Hi Guys,

I am currently looking for a new car and I found the 124 Spider / Abarth and absolutely fell in love with the look and also the Story behind it. Specifically the Abarth tickles my fancy alot.
I am considering buying one, but don't want it to be an impulse buy, so I am looking for some testimonails of Owners and the likes.

Having a quick look around the internet, the 2016/17 Fiat124er go for like 17.000 - 20.000€ in my region (DACH) with ~50.000km.
The Abarth's are about 25.000€ also ~50.000km and from 2016/17.

While the price range is fine for me, one could get a "new" (below 2000km driven) 2026 MX5 for 30.000€ in my region. While I do like the elongated look of the Abarth alot more than the short stubbed MX5, the financial responsible part of my brain struggles to justify paying "only" 5.000€ less for a 10 year old (similar) car.

So what would you say are the benefits of the Abarth / Fiat compared to getting a new MX5 ?

Sanity check before buying

Hey guys,

Would really appreciate some input before I spend the cash as it’d be my first 124.

It’s a 2017 Classica, 43,740 miles in great shape (garage kept) with some tasteful mods (wing, skirt, blow-off valve, bonnet wrap, etc.) for private sale at $15,500. KBB is suggesting $10k-ish but looking at actual CarGurus listings it seems like an ‘okay’ deal.

Seller really doesn’t want to negotiate but I love the car and assuming a pre purchase inspection shows it in excellent shape, would that price be crazy?

I’ve had Miatas before and was looking to get back into one but this popped up and it looks like exactly what I loved about those plus the performance and tunability I was missing with them.

Update: I'm getting it! I would normally love to get an Abarth instead but A. mods don't really increase the value but the ones it has ARE the ones I'd be looking to do, so I'm saving there and B. it's really in fabulous shape and low mileage, so I rather slowly upgrade over time with this as a base. Coming from a GTI, $1500 + labor to install a limited slip sounds like a bargain haha.
