Seam on the same face... how?

Any idea how to make something like this? Haven't found any videos that show this kind of technique. Thanks in advance!

Leather hotdog

Just finished this leather hotdog, pretty simple design but needed a pencil case!

Falco Tannery Goatskin at .8mm in tan and dark green

Alran Chevre Capri for lining at .6mm.
Really love the shimmer, hard to capture with a phone camera

0.4mm SHC reinforcement

Used 1mm leather cord for piping

Size 8 brass zipper, I love a chunkier zipper in general

Hand stitched at 4mm diamond irons with vinymo 5 in white for outers and 5mm spacing with navy thread on the inside.

Dimensions about 200mm long, 60mm
wide and tall. About 130g

Process pics towards the end

Dragon Minimalist Bifold with custom Lime Green scales

This commission was for a dragon scale Minimalist Bifold but I used some leftover Lime Green I had mixed for a Joker themed order. It's made from natural veg tan leather and dyed with a purple edge fade. Hand stitched with yellow ritza thread. The customer wanted the initials FITFO added.

These hold up to 6 cards and 15 bills while folding to fit in a front pocket.

Latest little work bag

Earlier this year I posted a bag made of chevre goatskin but wasn’t completely happy with how it came out (last picture). I used salpa for reinforcement and it altered the hand feel of the bag. Didn’t love the size 3 riri zipper either, too small for my taste and use.

Changed the pattern a bit and used microfiber this time, pretty happy with how it turned out!

Chevre at .9mm
Microfiber at .4mm
Calfskin lining at .7mm
Raccagni zipper size 8, love a good chunky zipper
Ritza white .6mm for outer stitching and vinymo 5 for inner
Fenice edge paint throughout
3mm leather cord

Oval/bean shaped bag was about 200g, this new rectangle bag is about 260g. Dimensions are; 8.5 inches long, 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide

My first belt.

Here is the first belt i made because my belt was falling apart, accidentally made it thin by like 1 mm or so so the thread doesn’t slant at the back side (I did hammer the stitches) It have been reinforced using a layer of nylon cloth tape.
What’s your thoughts on this belt.

The hidden details you don't usually see - the traditional way of stitching in a keeper.

In this shot, you can just see the end of the keeper, captured by the stitchline down the one side of this buckle turn, skived down to nothing to reduce bulk. An easier and more common way nowadays (second photo, I have rotated the keeper, as it's not actually 'attached', to show the join) is to make your keeper a full loop, stitching or stapling the two ends together. This keeps the full thickness of the keeper the whole way around, adding to a bulky mess at this section of the belt. With the full loop method the turn over is then often secured either side of the keeper with just a couple of whip stitches around the edge of the belt, unlike a traditional stitched keeper that has a full stitch run the whole length of the turn down both sides. A much stronger solution.

You can also see the twist of the linen thread where I go from one side of the turn to the other, this keeps the thread tight and tidy, and is done so the stitch lines down either side of the turn is done with one continuous piece of thread.

It's a bit more work and quite a fiddly process, but I think it makes a big difference to the final outcome.

Do you think it's worth the extra to do it this way?

Next project advice

I have finished a passport project.

Now I do not know what is next. Do I repeat it in order to master the skills? Do I move on and try to make a wall?

In terms of skill, what is next?

Literally, I am paralyzed by analysis and need an outside point of view.

Thanks for your time

Looking for some insight into making a pattern

My cousin has this late 19th/early 20th century silver purse (clasp?), that she wants me to turn into a purse. I was wondering if anyone here had done something similar and had any insight or tips on shaping/creating a pattern for. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
