Oh hey interlopers, can you believe it, the AI's got us a job! So we went down to this infested rock to stomp some worms. First we found a bug though, gorgeous specimen, and she went straight in the collection. I had to stop Riggs from chasing the big one round the whole planet, he'd have a go if he could! Then we got to work... Enjoy the pics, Ronch out.
GRAH!
Hi Guys,
I didn’t get much of a response in the other main group, so I thought I’d show her to you instead. Not because I simply want people to say, “Wow, she looks great!”, but because this group might better appreciate the amount of work—and slightly obsessive madness—that went into building her.
What am I talking about? My pirate corvette: SHIN GAMERA.
(As many of you probably know, Gamera is one of Japan’s classic giant kaiju: an enormous fire-breathing turtle. The Japanese were truly ahead of their time!)
My ship was inspired by him. The basic idea is that the entire corvette was constructed around Gamera’s skull, as though I were giving the creature a new mechanical life.
Now, whether or not you like the lore and the aesthetics, I mainly wanted to explain how I built her...
First, a little context: I teach mechanical design at secondary-school level, and I’m very comfortable with 3D modelling, especially CAD. However, as a matter of “principle”, I decided not to use Blender; You may ask: “What principle?”
No particular principle, really—apart from challenging myself to understand how everything works.
So how did I create Shin Gamera?... Simple: I deliberately chose the most complicated, tortuous, but also most entertaining route possible:
I manually edited the JSON file.
And I had an absurd amount of fun doing it, because it also turned into a proper technical investigation! For example, I had to identify the correct ObjectIDs for Corvette parts and base-building components... I loved every minute of it 🔥
I’m also obsessed with symmetry, so I manually edited every mirrored component to make sure its X, Y and Z coordinates matched perfectly on both sides... Yes, I probably need to be locked away somewhere 😂
If you’re still reading, thank you... 💯
I’ve attached a series of images showing the Corvette and some of her optional equipment:
This is Shin Gamera.
Thank you.
GRAH!!!
Their happiness went up, but their production immediately went down. Apparently, they're not that much different from us. And I suspect the bartender is peddling Nipnip buds on the downlow, but I'm not doing anything about it unless he embarrasses us by getting caught. Until then, I'm just going to redefine my role from "Overseer" to "Overlooker." Besides: they work hard. They deserve some fun too, don't they?
And you ought to see them get all tanked up and do The Hustle. It's comedy gold.
But don't dare to let them see you laughing at them.
Travelers Inn 4.0 is now open in Sudzerbal.
Here at Travelers Inn we take care of your vacation needs. We have our signature 16 room hotel with a restaurant, pool bar, and nip nip bar and lounge.
At the beach we have a beach bar, snack shack, and nip nip dispensary. And a short walk from the beach is the hot tub and deck.
This is my 1st Travelers Inn on my new save, the other 3 are on my old save. This is the 1st base where I used stabilized reality glitches and they fit in quite well in the nip nip lounge.
Stop by if you're in the galaxy. Neighbors welcome (and encouraged)
If you see my Tour Bus in the anomaly, jump on and I'll take you there.
This is in Calypso (Thanks for the 2nd set of eyes u/absurdivore !). I expect gravity could be very challenging here, but I didn't land to check it out yet.
If I go to Options -> Network and turn on Multi-player, can I find other Travelers (ie you guys)? Or do I have to pay that stupid monthly fee? I've been playing solo this whole time, and I'd like to visit some of you and be visited by you. (And hopefully give away a lot of stuff I've hoarded "just in case", lol!)
Not so much a collision as a questionable flirtation.
👥👀

Where can I find the biggest giant long-neck dinosaur-like creatures in NMS?
I keep seeing them as decorative “statues” in the game, but apart from some much smaller cobra-like versions, I’ve never actually found the huge original creature in the wild.
Do these massive long-neck creatures actually exist as discoverable fauna? And if so, is there any particular type of planet, biome, or galaxy where I’d have a better chance of finding one?
Thanks, Travellers! 🦕🌌
I spent a fair amount of time working on my cookbook recipes and have an abundance of goodies to give away. I’m hanging out at the Anomaly, throwing pies, donuts and random other food stuffs into travelers backpacks. Everyone needs road snacks!
Oh hey interlopers, so we warped into a wealthy little Korvax system today, and the Squadron guys had been on the Grah Grah, so you know what that meant. Pirating time!
It all started out well, then those little sentinal buggers turned up so we gave them a thrashing just in time for their big buddy to turn up. Laughter and battle hymns that would have made Hirk proud rang through the comms as we fought like warrior poets, or drunk Vy'keen, and made short work of the robots battleship.
How about a weekly event where we post pics and members vote (with upvotes) on the weekly winner?
Any interest? Would we want to award the winner a special user flair or some such thing? Just spitballing here. Feel free to disagree, add an insight or observation, or suggest new content for engagement.
How awesome is Riggs! That's all I got.
(Just curious, what is everyone's favorite exocraft?)
Hey guys, so I posted up some pics of my little ground crew and got a really positive response so I wanted to say thanks to everyone for that. But one thing that bugged me was that a few interlopers said I needed a different pet. My first thought was "what's wrong with Ajax? He's the goodest boy!" But then I remembered I'd mentioned my bug collection and I figured you guys wanted to see it maybe? So Lollipops and I set out to do a little folio for guys. Hope y'all like it.
Hey guys, so I love chucking on some music while chilling and playing NMS and find I have a different "soundtrack" depending on what I'm doing. For example when I'm just building or mining or doing something where I'm fairly static I'll put on some old school rock, the Beatles, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles even some Chuck Berry or Little Richard (old school, my parents influence). When I'm exploring or jumping around a planet with Riggs (my minotaur) I'll put on some AC/DC, Van Halen, Black Sabbath maybe some Guns and Roses or Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Then when we go out looking for a fight with sentinels or nasty bugs or Pirating I'll put on something that gets me going, Disturbed, Korn, Slipknot some System of a Down etc.
So I was just wondering, do others have a personal "soundtrack" and what do you listen too while getting out into the universe. Or do you prefer the games soundtrack, or perhaps you turn music off all together? Just curious.
I am hyped
Alright Interlopers, Riggs and I were out for a stroll getting ready to do some scappin when we came across this guy. By Hirk he's a Dino that looks like a Dino, I know it's rare right! Be warned they got a nasty temper.
Hey? What was that? (quiet rustling) So I was told to tell you all it's an SSB if that makes sense to you.
Grah, also interlopers, if you head down here you can pick up this little horned guy, his stats are rubbish apparently but I thought there might be some explorers into dinos, more of a bug guy myself.
Lastly, there's a bunch of these interceptors lying around, me and the crew scrapped a few and moved on but if you're interested I slapped the glyphs at the bottom.
Ronch out!
Serious contender for the smallest cutest SSSS in the universe. Barely the size of my foot. Yes that is an adult. Common underground with good caves so not hard to find.
