SATLUJ removed from ZEE5
The much-awaited film has been removed from ZEE5 after 2 days of release. I was gonna watch it today. This sucks. What could be the reason?

Ardaas felt deeply patriarchal to me because the film keeps framing respect for elders as more important than doing what is morally right. What bothered me most was how the husband stayed silent even in the hospital, when a simple boundary could have protected his wife from his mother’s interference. Instead of challenging the control and coercion in the family, the story treats that silence as normalwhich makes the tragedy feel both avoidable and unfair. That silence is one of the most frustrating parts of the story. The husband had the social position to draw a boundary, but the film has him stay passive, which makes the tragedy feel avoidable and also makes him complicit. That choice says a lot about the film’s worldview: it treats male hesitation as understandable and female suffering as inevitable. Instead of holding the husband accountable for not protecting his wife, it funnels the emotional burden back onto family duty, respect and fate.
I think that they all Three were Very Beautiful Movies.
I have seen Carry on jatta more times than i have seen its sequels combined. I watxhed it in my office in 2012 and everyone asked me what i m watchung and suddenly people from Rsjastha, Orrisa, west bengal,Jammu etc were watching it.
I watched it again 2 days ago and want to write on how different it is from sequels and why i liked it
Simple setting: Entire movie was set in Jalandhat and barely had about 5 sets. Surrounding felt real compared to more elaborste settings in sequels
Dialogues: diolagues in the sequels are way too loud compared to original. No one is really shouting. It feels like real conversation even at the end. Even Karamjit Anmol who played caricaturish role in the sequels was playing role of normal person
No slap stick: there is no physical comedy. Its all situation and script driven.
Technically a Punjabi movie, and Pakistani production
That cleared up let's get the conversation going...
I finally watched The Legend of Maula Jatt — and I’m of the opinion Noori is the real hero of the film. Not Maula.
Yep, I said it. Hear me out:
Noori’s moral line
He saves his sister from being buried alive. That’s not villain behaviour; that’s someone who refuses to tolerate injustice, even within his own clan.
His loyalty is absolute
He loves Daaro fiercely and unconditionally. She’s not just “family” to him; she’s the person he trusts most.
He wants an opponent worthy of him
Yes, he’s arrogant. But he’s also driven by honour. He’s looking for someone he can respect, not just someone he can crush.
He feels shame when his father fights dishonourably
When his father attacks Maula from behind, Noori’s disgust is instant. That shame leads him to kill his own father — a brutal act, but one rooted in his code of honour.
He’s arguably the film’s strongest feminist ally
After his father’s death, he makes Daaro the head of the clan. He doesn’t just “respect” her; he elevates her.
Even at the end, he fights with honour
Even when he believes Maula killed his sister, he still faces him head‑on. Yes, he kidnaps half the village — but narratively, he stays consistent with his code: confront your enemy directly.
So yeah… controversial take, but Noori isn’t the villain. He’s a tragic hero with a rigid moral compass, deep loyalty, and more emotional complexity than Maula himself.
Based on the trailer, there are little to no cuts. Jaswant Singh Ji’s name is still in the movie, there are references to Panjab within the film, etc…

movie truly showed how brutally Punjab suffered during that dark period. Watching how our own people were forced to turn against each other was heartbreaking. There seemed to be no humanity, no justice, no human rights only fear and unimaginable pain.
It feels like an open wound that has never really healed. It makes you think about everything
Punjab went through, about an entire generation that was almost wiped out, and about the countless mothers who never got to see their sons return home. God only knows how many families were left shattered forever.
The first two hours were emotional, but the last 40 minutes completely broke me. I couldn’t hold back my tears. Watching Kuljeet speak the truth, despite everything, was one of the most powerful and heartbreaking parts of the film.
The director deserves immense credit for having the courage to bring such a painful chapter of history to the screen. And Diljit, as always, disappeared into his character. His performance felt so genuine and heartfelt that you could feel every emotion with him.
I also really admired Arjun Rampal’s performance. He carried his role with strength and conviction, portraying the CBI officer with such honesty and determination to bring the truth before the courts. Jagdeep Sandhu was equally outstanding as Kuljeet. His performance was deeply moving and stayed with me long after the film
this is a film that makes you feel, reflect, and ask difficult questions. It left a heavy weight on my heart.
All these are bought reviews
i saw tones of 10/10 reviews
This movie is such garbage. It feels like even the filmmakers know it’s a joke, but it still sells, so they keep churning out the same crap. They should’ve stopped after two. Gippy Grewal should stop making movies, and his kid can’t act for shit.
I still got some giggles outta this shi. So it’s alr.
I just watched rabb da radio 3, for free thankfully, and it is horrible. The storyline is trash, acting is subpar, and direction is overall sloppy. I think punjabi cinema needs to move on from old school pind vibes and beating this sequel trend. A sequel is continuing a story not just using the same set. Pollywood is a joke since Gippy took over anyways.
The makers thought ki jaswinder bhalla bhawein heart attack naal margya, par audience nu ta assi bhor bhorke hi maar dena. Review mangonge te comment ch likhdu, but at this point tan gippy nu enne paise naal retire hoke kitte vass jana chahida filma chhadke, because what was this absolute horse shit. Enne paise ehi ji bekaar film bnaun te laun naalo adhe paise oui ghuggi, dhillon ura ch vand de. Aapde v paise bachau te punjabi audience di v mental sanity. Je ticket krwa ee lyi ae ta mixed popcorn lai leyo, ohna naal mada mota jee lagju. Nhi je hje v marzi naal dekhn challe o tan baba bhalli kare bai.
I honestly think Shareek has one of the most original storylines in Punjabi cinema. Instead of the usual comedy or romance, it explores family rivalry, greed, inheritance, and betrayal in a gripping way.
The acting is outstanding across the cast, especially Jimmy Sheirgill, Mukul Dev. The intense drama, emotional depth, and realistic characters make the film memorable even years later.
For me, Shareek is an underrated gem that deserves much more appreciation
So now we can't trust on reviews? & Whats with the name?
For people who've watched the movie any reviews?? I'm expecting it to be pretty bad but still would love to know if I should watch it or not?
It was teased at the end of it, 'To Be Continued'. I liked it.
Honestly after this Ipl I found her literally irritating because whenever she wants fame she changes her support. During ipl she wanted fame so went to support rcb, now she wants money, now she started supporting punjab/punjabi things. Honestly I don't have any issue regarding her supporting Rcb, the main problem is that she was desperate to see Punjab loose and was reacting childish and crying whenever Punjab was hitting a six. I will just watch her movie because of Jay Randhawa.
When everyone is hooting fot Sarbiya I think zanjeerain is not a love story it's a story of people desires remain unaccomplished.Lets start with
1.Sarbuland wanted to persue his education in America and then wanted to come back for marriage with bano and again wanted to settle in America but sudden murders of his brother and a promise from him that if anything happens to sherdil he will be the new ruler fastened him then his friend Mudassir murder and now Bano has not only given him sudden traumas but also huge responsibilities of ruling his tribal area and to look after his friend's Mudassir's widow Rabiya.
2.Rabiya was an enthusiastic entrepreneur who ran her small dhaba with her brother and uncle and dreamt of having her own restaurant but bound to marry Mudassir because of Torsam's fear and when she was finally happy with Mudassir ,her husband was killed by Torsam.
3.Bano wanted to marry Sarbuland but not only found out his brother' true colors but also got killed by her brother accidentally.
4.Sohrab wants to rule tribal area but nepotism did not only made him just a follower of his cousins but rage in his blood made him a murderer of his cousin, cousin's wife and now also accidentally his sister Bano.
5.Torsam wants the status of acceptance as Sherdil,Sarbuland and Sohrab's are having but firstly (that's is not his fault at all) being a step son and brother made him felt left out as his step mom never accepted him then he became a rebel (as we say villians are not born they are made by the society) he became a criminal by exploitation of his uncle Zafran khan against his paternal family that when Rabia refused to marry him he couldn't take another rejection and killed Mudassir(that is entirely his fault).
5.Shireen wants to marry Sohrab and for that she is doing anything possible from poisoning Sherdil to help Sohrab in his crimes.
6.Adnan Siddiqui as Zafran Khan wants to kill each and every member of Hayat khan's family not only for enemosity but he wants the control of the tribal area ruling by Sarbuland now.
Long story short every character is layered and wants to live their lives on their own terms but are restricted by people, circumstances and responsibilities.Thats why it's zanjeerain not taqdeerein(destinies)
It's a story of void, compulsion and trauma not how destiny is working to make two people who even don't have feelings for each other comes together and live happily ever after.
(Sorry it's my first time writing a review...please spare my English)
Guri is really exceptional n so are tru makers, at least to me.
They've worked for LOVER too, if everything goes right with the script I can bet it'll be a masterpiece
EDIT : WHAT DO Y'ALL EXPECT FROM THEM
