Is it just me, or are heaps of young Sydneysiders are starting to sound like they're in Fat Pizza?

I’m in my youth and I’ve been noticing this a lot lately across Sydney, more specifically any suburb that goes pass west of Ashfield station. A whole bunch of people around my age, born and raised here, are speaking with really distinct Fat Pizza accents.

It’s not even restricted to specific ethnicities like Mediterranean or Middle Eastern anymore; I'm hearing it across different ethnicities and social classes all over the Inner West and Western Sydney. It's very common to come across a second generation Chinese, Korean, or Indian who went to Kings School or Trinity Grammar to sound like Spanian despite having upper middle class parents. It’s no big deal since we all understand each other fine, but I remember someone telling me that this wasn't the case 30 years ago.

Is anyone else noticing this shift, or is it just a coincidence with the groups I've bumped into recently?

Johnny Young performing ‘Cara-Lyn’ (prerecorded) on the ATV-0 music program Uptight. Broadcast on 19 October 1968

‘Cara-Lyn’, as a double A-side alongside ‘Step Back’, went to number one on the Go-Set charts in 1966, and became one of the best-selling Australian singles of the 1960s. The host introducing Young at the beginning, Ross D. Wyllie, would in late 1969 put out ‘The Star’, which was written by Young and also went to number one on the Go-Set charts; Herman’s Hermits would later also go on to cover that track.

Burger Broz in Mt Druitt is leaving threatening messages to people who post bad reviews

I had a bad experience here and left a review last night. Since then I’ve had the owner of the business track me down on Facebook and send me messages like ‘you don’t know who you’re fucking with’ and a screenshot of my family he got off my profile saying ‘your family is cute’. Just a heads up in case you plan to sus this place out with the amount of TikTok promo this guy is paying for.
