What do I do??

I don’t really have a picture but I got what was advertised as a common goldfish a few years ago and I’m now realizing he’s definitely a comet goldfish. They told me he was gonna stay small, he’s 4 inches long, my uncle has a pond but he’s only got koi in it, would that be ok? I genuinely don’t know what to do, I’m 15, my mom bought him for me without doing any research into how big he gets, I feel horrible knowing I’ve kept a fish that’s in a tank way too small for it. Any ideas? I’m definitely not releasing him into the wild, that would be stupid, but I’m so confused because we definitely don’t have the space for a fish that gets like a foot long.

Advice for new stand

I'm planning on upgrading my tank stand very soon from my janky metal one that has an open bottom and has been causing me anxiety for months to one that is wooden and should be sturdier plus has a full top- my tank is a rimmed 20 gallon. Should I get a leveling mat for it? Some sites say yes and others say no

Deceptively stressful aquarium? Or true stressful aquarium?

Only part of the tank that overhangs the bookshelf is the bowfront itself, and the bookshelf is metal and has taken my entire weight thrown at it without tipping over.

Tank is a 13.5 gallon, and to the side is a 5 gallon!

I also have a tiny 3 gallon cube wedged in one of the shelves, you can barely see its light in the bottom of the first pic

Stressful?

This stand is for a 120L (~30 gallon) tank. I put two 20L (~5 gallon) tanks in the back corners since the back and side panels offer the most structural support there. What are your thoughts?

Well that could have been worse. Time to wall off the tank lol

Everyone is okay. Please dont lecture me. I have kids and they never even did that lol. He's 5 months old. Not my 1st dobie, but this one is extra adventurous haha.

jimmy jumped :(

i came home today to find my sweet boy jimmy mcgill dehydrated on the ground beneath his tank. i have only had him for a couple weeks at this point so i cannot say he had a great life, but i hope he at least enjoyed some of his time with me. i am new to fish keeping as i took him in from a student at my college who was moving and did not really know what i was getting into, but i am thankful to him for introducing me to a great hobby and community. i do in part feel i am to blame for his death as i was attempting to cycle the tank while he was in it. i had to completely redo his tank as the previous owner did not have a great setup from what i had researched, and he came to me in a small container. i tried my best to do right by him and was going to get him some plants today so he had more hidey holes and places to rest. i know i could have done more to make his home better, and before i even think about another fish i’m going to do way more research and fully cycle the tank. rest in piece jimmy mcgill.

questions:
- his tank has a lid on it but there are small gaps for the filter to sit. should i get another lid/tank set up in the future to prevent jumping?
- i checked his water perimeters yesterday and everything looked good, though there seems to be a slight film on the water. what can i do to improve next time to make sure this doesn’t happen/was it something i did that made him jump?

Disgusting

Was scrolling on Instagram and saw this despicable goldfish presentation. There must be 100 of them in a half an inch Maison jar. Water isn’t even filled up all the way! Please take action on this Instagram page immediately and don’t let them do this to our beloved goldfish anymore. Why is this even a thing!
