Biggest impacts on Build Time?

Hello,

I'm playing the most recent version of DIP great game, although my question applies more generally to the game as well. What modules/ship characteristics have you noticed have the biggest impact on build time of a ship? I'm currently trying to rebuild my fleet in a war against Britain (before they rebuild theirs), but I can't quite figure out exactly what impacts this stat the most.

Thanks for any insights!

Tribal-class Lightcruiser (1920)

My first modern CL, the Tirbal-class CL! Meant to hunt enemy DDs and lead my DDs on torpedo runs. 15 of them will be built.

TIL you can ram ships

I thought ram damage was disabled. Apparently in a low armored ship it does damage.
I was out of torpedos in my torpedo boat fight and the enemy was crippled but not sinking. So I rammed him and it worked.

Penetration values massively increased?

Just a quick one asking if anyone else has suddenly seen penetration values go up MASSIVELY. Did a fresh reinstall due to windows but luckily DIP remained installed and the 15 inch MK4 went from about 20/30 inches of pen at close range to the extreme values seen here?

Is this a bug or a result of the windows reinstall partially breaking the mod? the 15 inch gun surely shouldn't have the penetration of an 18 inch.

1930 Treaty Cruisers

first off is the Fonza class CL.. She's the fuck off little dudes cruiser. her guns fire at a rate of almost 5 RPM. and its pretty damn good.

second is Fable class CA.. she's got armor of a Battleship (her belt comes out to 15.3 inches woo and her 8 inches pen 10.6 inches)

Why do my battleships fire HE(HCHE) at battleships but AP(capped) at destroyers. 15in 20% barrel and super heavy shells

Don’t get me wrong, the HE shells are absolutely wrecking battleships but, my own will almost never fire AP, even at distances under 15km

While the AP, is flooding the destroyers. I just find it super odd and wonder if there’s an explanation.

To DIP or not to DIP

I have never used DIP. For those who have, I'm going to guess it's generally considered an improvement based on how often I see it... Are there any reasons I shouldn't jump on the mod-train since the base game is never getting another update? (As the flair states, this is for UA Dreadnought).

Village-class Destroyer

Finally unlocked this hull. BOI! I had no idea that DIP is super harsh with those DD swarms! Though I like it! Anyways! The Village-class DD! Named after the villages from several provincial municipalities~!

Turret armour important ?

Usually I get to armour last, and after inputting belt and deck I don't have displacement to upgraden turret armour, so is it important ? Havent had any catastrophic disasemblies so far...

I cant with this f'ing game anymore

I cant with this silly game anymore, tried rushing France as China in 1900, despite a better fleet, they keep sending their spam boats and multiple invasion squadrons, when I send over my battle fleets, the AI somehow manages to position filler fleets always by their invasion squadrons so my battle fleets always get damaged by their stupid filler squadrons so the AI camps the area. On top of that the stupid AI always parks near the closest port to repair, and since you cant change ship status in repair mode, as soon as its done repping the AI farms your shit. WTF.

Worth buying in 2026?

Saw the game was “dead” on steam but is there enough content to warrant a purchase? I loved warship gunner 2 on PS2 and PTOIV and ultimate admiral looks like it would scratch the itch

Edit: apparently there’s multiple games I think I mean UAD

sometimes I hate this game

I spend forever increasing tension, because for some reason it can just be ignored (I bet Ukraine wishes they had known that), then when I finally get the war I've been trying to get, ai peaces out the very next fucking turn.

Standard-type pocket dreadnought

Lightly armored and armed, I built fifty of these from 1904-1910. I refit them from 1910-1911, and they will continue serving my fleet until they sink.

I funded this through war with spain and fucking around South America with 50 heavy cruisers from 1901-1905

Feline Class Battlecruiser and Aegis Class Battleship

Secondaries Anonymous

So I may have a problem with secondary armament (that I can't fit more) on my battleships. I cannot get enough of them, I squeeze them anywhere I can that doesn't give them a terrible firing angle, and it's just getting worse as I get bigger and bigger hulls. Is this excessive? Am I alone? (Is it caused by my brand new battleships getting swarmed by enemy DDs) Especially when I compare them to historical designs, it's almost laughable how many I have. Does anyone else do this? And if not, why?

Józef Piłsudski Class Fast Battleship

Don't mind the Netherland Flags and imagine it's Polish

Some History: The Józef Piłsudski Class was envisioned as a new generation of Capital Warships for Poland at the end of second world war however instead of deciding for more grand design like most the Polish Navy ordered a Lightly armed Fast Battleship but with immense speed in mind which was planned as 40 knots.

This order was originally comprised of 4 warships of this class but later on 2 of them were cancelled and only ORP Józef Piłsudski and ORP Roman Dmowski were completed in later months of 1946 and claiming the title of fastest Capital warships till modern day.

Ultimately the two Battleships were fit into doctrine as Hunters for Cruisers and anything smaller as combat against actuall enemy battleships would be a bad choice and end in disaster. However due to long time of peace the two Battleships were decommisioned in 1965 with ORP Józef Piłsudski becoming a Museum ship and ORP Roman Dmowski operating as a CApital Trainer and Parade vessel often used during national events and for training of new Polish Sailors.

In modern day outside of already said roles, ORP Roman Dmowski also was modernized many times to fill it's training role as best as it could but also a debate has begun if the Warships were fast Battleships or Battlecruisers with arguments for their small armament and speed with counterpoints marking thick armour and tonnage with official stance of Polish Navy on fast battleship classification.
