How to be menachem avel over the phone?
The person sitting shiva is my mother which weirdly feels more awkward than if it were someone less close!
I don't know how to start. Like if I can't even say "hi," what can I even say when she picks up?

I'm a busy mom in a community of other busy moms. I want to socialize, but the moms all socialize with small talk in the streets (watching their kids playing) and as an introvert, I really don't do well with small talk.
Tried to put together a board game group but no one was interested. I think it's just too time demanding and everyone is busy.
So, I thought maybe I could try to host a "mini-party" that isn't too demanding of people's time, like 30 minutes. Like a hot cocoa party (when it's a little cooler). To prevent it being just another small talk session, I think I need to plan a simple activity, but what type of activity could work?
From the instructions that came with my game:
"A double run of four (5, 6, 7, 8, 8) pegs 10: 8 for the double run plus 2 for the pair of 8s. A triple run, like 4,4,4,5,6 scores 3 runs of three and 3 pairs, pegging 15; a quadruple run, like 6,6,7,7,8, scores 4 runs of three plus 2 pairs, pegging 16."
The instructions on the Bicycle website however mention this: "Example 1: If the cards are played as 8, 7, 7, 6, the dealer cannot peg for a run because the extra 7 is a foreign card. "
Why is this Bicycle example not a run if runs are allowed with duplicated cards? I don't understand the difference.
Also, in the examples above from my game instructions, is it saying that you get to double dip? So let's say it's 4,4,5,6 where you played the second 4 and the 6, you initially got 2 points for the pair, and now after playing the 6 you get ANOTHER 2 points for the pair in addition to 6 points for the two runs? And in that first example, you'll get a full 10 points after putting the final 8 in 5,6,7,8,8 even though you already got 3 points for the 5,6,7?
Really could use some help understanding this.
Our filter kept getting pressured to the red within an hour of turning it on. We thought it might be just the filter getting full frequently as we were still in the process of cleaning out the dead algae from a previously deep green pool, but then our motor died, and when we replaced it we suddenly stopped having the high pressure issues. It seems counterintuitive; shouldn't a weak motor result in low pressure, not high pressure?
Curious if anyone who has an idea of what might have been going on can chime in with an ELI5.
I was reading about how kids who are told they are smart tend to get a fixed mindset where smartness becomes their identity and they end up avoiding challenges and growth opportunities in life because if they fail it would challenge their self identity. Having been the "smart kid" I can really relate to this and it might explain a lot of my struggles/laziness/inflexibility and inability to put in the effort to gain skills that I am interested in gaining.
My question is, has any smart person out there struggled with this and been able to change and really become adaptable and embrace challenges? If so what steps did you take to change your subconscious identity like that?
Facial emojis, and some non-face emojis (such as hearts), are a good way to communicate tone/emotion. But non-emotion object emojis like foods or animals or whatever don't communicate anything that words can't. They are actually inconsiderate because they make the message harder for the reader to interpret, as the reader has to stop their flow of reading to figure out what the image is showing and what it means, and what the person might be trying to say by showing the image (which often seems to be nothing at all??). If two people, or a larger group, are intentionally engaging in these emojis because they view them as a fun puzzle, and it's understood between/among them, that's fine, but if not I think it's inconsiderate to use them.
I'm very sedentary, want to get started on something simple. When I search for basic routines they just list various exercises and say "Google any of these if unsure how to do them" or maybe have separate links to each exercise (and I generally don't know any of these exercises). The problem is I don't have super convenient Internet access and I am somewhat of a digital minimalist, so I want to just find a routine and quickly print the whole thing out to reference later, not something where I have to click through one by one to a bunch of separate pages and print each of those. Has anyone seen anything that fits the bill?
I tend to enjoy these types of games! Some examples:
*Codenames
*Just One
*Things in Rings
*When I Dream
*Insider
What others do you know?
I often enjoy writing on the more "silly" side (always loved Shel Silverstein) and there's evidence of that in this poem, but ultimately it's a sad poem. I like the tone, but I'm curious what other readers think of it. Do you find it odd? Do I sound like an angsty teenager? (I'm an adult.)
Rhinoceros
I am a rhinoceros
A wild and lovely sight
Armed and armored, yet somehow
As if a docile dairy cow
I know not how to fight
I'm an unassuming beast
Though fearsome to behold
My beautiful and striking blade
that's so enchantingly displayed
Is worth its weight in gold
Yes! I'm a rhinoceros!
I'm treasured and I'm prized!
But he who treasures only cares
To snag me in his hidden snare,
His powers exercised.
My sword is quickly overcome
And taken from my frame
My armor an illusion; it
Protects me not, and here I sit,
Rhinoceros, but maimed.
I have several card games that come in cheap tuck boxes that easily rip and are just annoying when you're trying to shove cards in (especially when it's two layers of cards!), and I want lidded cardboard boxes instead. Has anyone found an easy way to get hold of such boxes?
The ones I'm seeing on Amazon (like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DFPFD1SY) are all just another type of tuck box, and though they are better quality and are also not as fussy as your classic playing card tuck box, they are still fussier than I would like. I want the ones with separate lids! Has anyone ever seen small lidded boxes for sale anywhere?
I did once purchase an unrelated product on Amazon that came in a small lidded cardboard box, so I used the box to replace the tuck box a couple of my card games came in and was very pleased with the result. I think this might potentially be the best way, but I don't buy tons of products and I'm not going to go ordering random products I don't need or want just to get the boxes.
Any ideas?
