I...think I got judged for being a Jax fan IRL... 😳

I have a water bottle covered in TADC stickers and a customer at work commented on it and said they liked my stickers. I was super excited to run into another fan in the wild! They asked me who my favorite character was and I told them it was Jax and just started gushing about the show a little bit…and I could be totally wrong, I don’t know this person and I have no idea what their baseline personality is like…but, I noticed they kind of seemed to get quieter? 🤔 It just felt like there was kind of a shift in the energy. I asked who their favorite character was and they said Ragatha…but, I felt like there was a little stiffness in the way they said it. 🤔 I dunno, it just felt like they got a little defensive when I told them who my favorite character was, lol. Did I just get secretly Jax shamed in person?? 😂😂😂

Listen man, I’m just a girl who likes her villains and antiheroes, okay? ✋😂🤚

How seriously do doctors take CDS?

I recently discovered CDS and it’s like everything clicked into place. For years, I thought I might have ADHD, even though some things didn’t quite align. But, CDS…that’s it. That’s the thing I have. I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life. And it’s been such a relief to have a name for whatever the fuck has always been wrong with me. But, I’ve also read that it’s not in the DSM and isn’t an “official” condition.

Do doctors take it seriously when you present them with this? Do they just brush it off?

I miss the dueling game from Mugglenet Interactive.

I miss everything about MNI, actually. But I really wish I could play that little dueling game again! 🥲

Shout out to the random guy who took a secret portrait of me during a Naku show!

For anyone unfamiliar, Naku is a pianist and Twitch streamer who performs several times a week. I’ve really been enjoying his shows and try to catch as many as I can.

As I was watching one of his performances, some random person came up to me, threw this print in front of me, and left. 🥲 And it looks so nice!! This is definitely the best photo I have of my avatar now, I love it. Look at iiit!

Thank you, kind stranger!

(I was also on Quest and didn’t realize I had sticks and bandaids on my face and chains hanging out of my mouth. 😂)

Do you guys know about the hole in the ozone layer?

I’m 37f and I was just musing about this today. And I just wondered how many kids of today know about the hole in the ozone layer. I guess it started in the 70s, was identified in the 80s, and I learned about it as a kid in the 90s. And even back then, it was pretty crazy to think that we, like…broke the sky. 🙃 And then somehow fixed it??

But yeah, is it still general knowledge that dumbass humans literally tore a giant hole in the sky once? 😂

(Quick update — apparently we haven’t truly fixed it and it reopens over Antarctica every year and may not fully recover until 2066. 😬)

What are your thoughts on “emo”?

I’m 37f and I remember back in the day, being called “emo” was an insult, especially coming from the numetal kids. “Emo” meant “emotional” and they were basically thought of as the crybabies of rock. 😂 I always thought it was weird how the term became so widely embraced and became a title people were proud to be associated with. It’s also annoying that these days, what used to be considered numetal aesthetic gets lumped in with “emo culture” now. I know a lot of people don’t mind due to the gradual adoption of the term, but I still feel repelled whenever anyone mistakenly calls me “emo”.

Does anyone else feel that way? Or am I just an asshole? 😂

A sad Jax moment

I couldn’t decide if “fanart” or “cosplay” was best for this, lol. It’s neither really, but this is me in VRChat, which I guess is kind of like wearing a costume, lol. I was world hopping in a Jax avatar and stumbled upon a world someone made of the bench and lamp post in the finale.

I already wasn’t in the best mood that night. I was depressed, not actually interacting with anyone, and felt pretty alone. Instead of enjoying the world as a pretty art piece, I instead stood where he stood for a while and had a quiet, introspective moment to myself, looking at the stars and thinking about all the shit going on in my life.

Then I thought it might make for a nice photo. 🤷‍♀️ So, here you go. Me having a Jax moment.

I used ChatGPT to search and analyze 20+ years of my listening history.

Disclaimer: To be 100,000% clear, I have extremely mixed feelings about AI, leaning towards negative. I hate what it’s doing to music, art, and the humanities as a whole and I fully realize that it’s doing irreparable damage to, well, everything. 😑

That being said, I do believe that there’s also a flip side and that it’s capable of doing some pretty cool things when it’s utilized as a tool. And this might be my favorite use that I’ve discovered so far!

—— Skip this part if you don’t care lol ——
The thing that triggered this was me ruminating about how much happier I used to be in the past during certain times of my life. I’m in a pretty low period of my life right now and it’s a constant struggle to find that inner peace and happiness I used to have. And I was thinking about the music I used to listen to back then and all the feelings they evoked in me. I had the idea to search my old scrobbles and to make a playlist of the best “positive vibe” songs from a specific couple years. But with almost 800 pages of scrobbles and all types of music mixed together, it was a daunting task.
——————

Then it occurred to me that maybe ChatGPT could go through my listening history for me. But again, 800 pages was too much for that, too. So, I exported a csv spreadsheet file of my entire listening history and uploaded it. And it’s working great as an interactive database! It’s been so fun searching through my scrobbles, being able to ask specific and abstract questions and prompts about my listening history, and creating playlists based on specific years, moods, and events. I’m rediscovering songs and bands that I completely forgot about.

It’s just too cool not to share. So for anyone else with overwhelmingly large scrobble histories, you might want to try it, too!

(Edit: Also try a prompt like this: “Referencing my csv file, give me a list of ideas that I could prompt you to do with it.” Tons of cool ideas!)
