Guy on the bike got up and was within 8 feet of this elk. this was over by center road and the Greenway path. of course other people started going over by the elk after he did it. A ranger pulled over on center road and they all scattered. so obviously they know they should not approach wildlife.
Seeing storms roll thru the canyon is breathtaking. I've been here quite a few times, but I always missed the storms til this time.
Been using Turo for 8 years and haven't really had any issues til this weekend. Booked an SUV to take on a vacation for 2 Weeks starting this weekend. Made the booking back in May. I was supposed to pick the vehicle up at 5 pm yesterday. Trip got cancelled at 1140 am because of 'safety issue' with the vehicle. I reached out to the host and he said the previous renter had damaged the windshield and he was unable to rent it out. Turo automatically tried to book another vehicle ( aTesla 3) without my permission. I ended up in an argument with turo customer service because they thought I booked the car.
So now I'm scrambling to book another rental and the amount of SUVs available is next to nothing because it's last minute. Ended up booking another vehicle but I'm stressed because the cargo room is way less, the price is way more and it isn't what I wanted in the first place.
I'm just going to stick to the corporate places from here on out. I know some of them suck too, but I'll take that chance. As a renter who planned my trip far in advance I should at least be compensated for the price difference, especially since my rental is a downgrade from before

Just curious as to what the opinions are to those who have logging activity in your area national Forest or public land? These abandoned earth mover tires have been sitting in this same spot for over 18 months now. There was a logging trailer parked next to them for several months which is finally gone after they decimated one of our camping spots. I understand logging to thin the forest, but there needs to be some common ground and responsible clean up.
I've scheduled 3 different appointments for the local post office. All three appointments were canceled the day of the appointment by the post office due to "staffing issues". I want to get this done, but it's been a struggle so far and I've lost faith in the process. Any recommendations for getting this done? In Phoenix Arizona. Are there any walk-in type places?
I purchased my 2002 Tahoe just over a year ago. I had this issue briefly a my month after my purchase. But it went away and I sort of forgot about it until now. The truck will sometimes be difficult to start. When it does start it will die almost immediately. I'll start again and same thing. Then there were two instances where the engine cut out while driving and I had to pull over and let it sit for a few minutes before getting it started again.

The problem started to reoccur last week while we were on vacation and came back from a hike. Took 5 attempts to get the Tahoe started. The next morning it started completely fine like nothing had happened.

The one thing I noticed is it seems to happen in warmer or hot weather. It's 106 here today. Could be a complete coincidence, or maybe not. Had absolutely no issues with the vehicle the entire fall winter and spring.

Truck has 180k. 4.8 engine. Newer ngk iridium plugs and ngk wires. New fuel filter about 9k miles ago. I almost exclusively use Shell fuel, so no cheap gasoline. No idea how old the pump is but going to check pressure when it cools off later.

Also noticed my voltmeter jumps randomly the first minute after I do get it to start after this happens. Not sure if this is just a symptom or another problem.

If I check fuel pressure what am I looking for PSI wise? Or should I be looking at something else as the issue?
This will be our first time visiting Chiricaua. Haven't decided on whether we want to camp inside the developed campsite in the park or nearby(dispersed outside park). We plan to go for about 3 days total . I know it will be warm so planning on bringing lots of water. Way more than we should need. We are no strangers to dispersed camping. So we are aware of the risks such as wildlife etc. Hoping to get some hiking in as well.
Not sure what else I can really grow thru summer but my zinnias are coming up now too.
Took my vehicle in for an oil leak a few weeks back. Turned out it was a rear main seal. They also wanted to replace the oil pan gasket and the oil pan itself. Staying there was damage to the oil pan and it would not seat properly. I agreed to the work and they had the car from Monday and finished it on a Thursday. Paid the estimate and drove home. Ended up going underneath the vehicle the following day (Friday) and notice my bell housing has a pretty big crack which was not there when I dropped off the vehicle. ( Photo 1&2)Had to wait thru the weekend and went in on Monday morning. The owner had the vehicle towed at shops expense. Got a call yesterday ( Thursday) said it was ready. Drove home. Looks like the bell housing was replaced with a used one.
Parked in the driveway. Woke up to a stain that was about a foot long and 6 inches wide. (Photo 3) Definitely transmission fluid. Called the shop this time. Owner said bring it in again and he would check it. He thinks it is the yoke leaking from weephole.
I am reluctant to go back to that shop. Corporate called me today since I left message with them. Saying if I took it someplace else it would "void my warranty." I have a shop I have used before which is definitely not cheap, but they do solid work. I was going to take it there. So far I have paid about $1500 for repairs from that shop and I have a vehicle I cannot drive. I also have had to pay for Lyft get a ride to the shop to pick up the vehicle now twice. Also have a decent size gash in my transmission pan. (Photo 5)This definitely wasn't there before. I can live with it if it's only cosmetic, but still not too happy about it.
Anyone who owns or works at a shop what course of action would you recommend going forward? This is my daily driver. I call BS on the warranty being void for having a shop look at it. A second opinion shouldn't void a warranty and I think that might be illegal. Thinking of contacting a lawyer if it comes down to that. But hopefully it won't.
Not going to name the shop since I have not yet tried to have them make this right. But long story short. Had a leaking rear main seal on a Tahoe I purchased last year. Got an estimate and agreed to the work. Shop called later that day and said they would do work following day. I got a call the following day. They said oil pan was damaged from a previous install possibly. Who knows. He send over pics of the damage and I agreed to pan and gasket being replaced. Picked up Tahoe last night and drove home. Got a check engine code on the way home. For bank 2 downstream o2 sensor. Ok could be conincidence.
I have no idea what oil they use, so my first instinct is to remove that oil and the cheap filter they use. Went underneath to look. Noticed my bell housing is cracked. Not just a little, but noticably. Also Noticed my bell housing inspection plate on the starter side is also missing. I know for a fact that inspection plate was not missing. So not in a good fucking mood at all. Shop is closed since it's the weekend. Taking my wife with me so I don't lose my shit with them.
