Banana pancakes
Jonah would not have asked his mother for banana pancakes in season 7. It is established in season 1 that he is fructose intolerant. That is all.

Wondering if anyone would be willing to connect or share their experience with surrogacy as someone who doesn't have a huge amount of savings. My partner and I live comfortably ($110k combined in a very low cost of living area), and ideally we'd like to wait to save more, but my parents had me in their 40s so we'd like to get started soon while they're still healthy. Wondering if anyone has any advice for an affordable path. Thanks y'all!
I’m one of those silly American Jews who learned to decode fluently, but hardly understands a word.
I’m teaching a third grade Hebrew decoding class this year, hoping for your advice on everyday Israeli vocab to incorporate.
Some everyday words/phrases to use would be:
—“here/present” for roll call
—“may I use the bathroom” (the shorter the better for phrases)
—“may I get a drink”
—“I’m done” (finished with an assignment)
— recess, snack, apple juice, grape juice, chocolate milk, Hershey’s kisses
—the variety of responses to
"מה נשמע” “מה קורה” “מה הולך”
— how Israelis would casually say “nice job” (Mazel? Mazel Tov? Tov Meod?) and conversely, “incorrect”
—any fun (age-appropriate for 9 year olds) slang they would have fun with?
— basically, if a kid goes to Israel for a week (or a lifetime!), what are some phrases that would help them get by & feel at home.
Thanks so much!!!
Heading from Durham 🐂 toward little Washington this weekend.
Any recommendations for places to see near
(1) Washington
(2) Duplin County (ikik but we’ll be in the area) or
(3) New Bern (besides downtown which we love!)
Thanks, y’all!
Hello experts! Beginner here.
What is this device called, and can anyone advise on how it is supposed to be used? Is it worth getting one for home (young male; goal is size & strength).
Thank you!
Tough one. Shoutout to our four 8/10 responders who offered their username:

Thinking about words that are coincidentally similar in sound and meaning, but have different sources. The best I could do is the semitic *kitser* and germanic *kirts*, both meaning short/brief. A bit more of a stretch is the semitic *gazlones* and slavic *grabyozh* for theft. Any other examples?
Assuming the klezmer tune style “khosidl/חסידל” is *Dos* (I’ve heard Dos & Der and get the sense that native speakers aren’t too fussed about gender anyway), would a Khosidl from Boston be titled “באסטאנער חסידל” or “באסטאנע חסידל”? Does it depend on whether the tune (neut) is being described as from Boston vs the dancing chasid (masc) being described as from Boston? What if the phrase is prefaced with דאָס? Or prefaced with the indefinite article?
Also, I don’t have a clear idea whether chasids see this tune name as fine, pejorative, or just don’t encounter it.
Gut vokh & a dank.
Edit: final nun typos
In future, I will try to always include a Bonus Picture Round (i.e., flags).
Also, in future, no quiz questions will be reused. But I only just found out about the emancipation of the sub, so here is HELLO INTERNET RELISTEN QUIZ EPISODE ONE!!!
