Which hotel near the City Center ?

I will be arriving with my dad in September as my classes at Newcastle Uni starts from the 21st. He plans to stay there for almost 12 nights to help me settle in, explore a bit and then fly back.

I was wondering which areas/hotels would be good for him, without paying extortionate prices while still being close to the Royal Victoria Infirmary as my uni accom is there.

How is the Cairn Hotel Newcastle Jesmond? Any other recommendations/personal experiences would help massively.

TIA.

I saw this randomly on the efootball points web shop on my Japanese region mobile account.

I couldn’t redeem it as the page was bugging out and couldn’t “take the load”.

Are Konami going to be that generous?

Accomodation comparison between 3 options

Hi everyone. I’m an international student and will be arriving in the upcoming September session.

My main study site will be at Newcastle University business school. I had some accommodation options in mind from the available ones on the uni’s website.

Those are Park View, Park Terrace and Kensington Terrace.

I saw minimal reviews online and would appreciate personal experiences and insights, to understand the whole picture.

I was thinking about 3 aspects;

  1. How’s the reception and internet performance in those 3 accommodations? (Saw that Park View is made with steel blocks and thus poor reception)

  2. Do the rooms get really stuffy and hot during summer?

  3. Will those 3 accommodations be too far away from the Business school? Are there any public transport (such as buses) close around which I could use? (If so then how much can the be the cost?)

Thanks.

Rant about UM’s incomplete disclosure of information and fairness.

I recently got my “conditional” offer letter for Bachelor in Accounting where they are stating that they don’t accept IELTS UKVI academic and I will need to submit a standard IELTS academic result.

I have an overall 8.5 in UKVI IELTS. I had applied and had everything ready for UK but for some unforeseen circumstances I had to consider Malaysia.

My issue and complaint is if they had properly mentioned the exceptions about IELTS and what they accept and do not accept in the course information page, which I have attached above, then I probably wouldn’t have applied and pay 300MYR in the first place.

They only mentioned such a policy in the “FAQS & INFO” page, under the “ENGLISH LANGUAGE EXEMPTION” section. They cannot really expect me to read through all the nitty gritty of their website which doesn’t function properly.

Am I wrong to feel hard done? (Considering UKVI and Non-UKVI are fundamentally the same exam)

What should I do? I really do not want to pay for another IELTS exam.

Amazed to see how the home ground advantage evaporated in minutes.

You got it Forest on Thursday, do the other 13 justice.
