Is there a reason *not* to use solar on my food truck?

Is there a reason *not* to use solar on my food truck?

I'm putting together a food truck (or rather, food trailer) that will operate in a climate with lots of sun (Cyprus).

Some lightning exterior will be needed for the concession area and the signage. For this purpose, I'm very tempted to employ something like this (not using motion sensors): https://tecknet.com/products/tecknet-4200lm-416-led-solar-lights-outdoor-waterproof

Alternatively, something where I put a panel on the (flat) roof and then let hook up some lamps -- although that would mean more points of failure.

However, if this is so obvious, why isn't everyone doing it? Is there a downside I'm unaware of?

Gene Simmons helped out Wendy O. Williams with her first solo album. What nice thing did *your* least favorite musician do?

What is the perfect nut/bolt combination for this tricky spot?

I have a trailer where I took out the old nuts and bolts to hold up the shelves, because they looked horrible.

I need something that will look good from the outside (I'm thinking of domed nuts?) and will be easy to reach from the inside. Here is an illustration: https://imgur.com/a/dIkup9X

I have time to order online, and it doesn't have to be the cheapest possible option.

What do you recommend?

I need an ultra simple app to scan receipts and OCR them, then give me a PDF

What I want is an app where I can take a photo of a receipt and get this PDF output:

https://preview.redd.it/97cwvuszztgh1.png?width=386&format=png&auto=webp&s=cafd6467cfa058cd381dfb5463064ce260ec9f0d

I don't need an expense report, stats, categories ... Just the info from the receipt in a format that's easy to read.

I see that some apps (Expensify, Smart Receipts) will do this, but they are expensive and really overkill for my needs.

Is it time to become a vibe coder, or does this exist?

Cooling down things in a small trailer?

I got a small trailer, and I'm in a hot climate. It seems electrical outlets will not always be available.

The food to be sold will be in a freezer at my home, so currently I'm considering simply bringing frozen food each day, and then let it thaw in a battery-driven fridge -- as it seems having a freezer on 24/7 in the trailer will be very inconvenient. But obviously, it would be best to have a freezer in the trailer!

Has anyone here faced similar issues? Tips and ideas are welcome!

What's a good payment solution for me?

I plan to start a small business. Here's what I think could be relevant:

  • Transactions will only happen at the physical place
  • Mostly small transactions
  • Most customers will be tourists (I think)
  • Revolut should probably be supported
  • I have one of the dinosaur banks (BoC)

Can someone recommend relatively cheap and easy way to get around this?

Difficulties getting a street vendor license?

Kalimera,

I am looking to apply for one of those, and some people online (yes, I know) says it's a hassle. Would someone here know what to be wary of? It looks fairly straightforward ...

My thoughts on "King Diamond at home" ...

  • Not bad at all, doesn't sound like a handful of senior citizens trying to be hip
  • Very, very close to KD in some places
  • ... Which brings me to next observation: Were some of these songs written initially written for KD?
  • "Gypsy Tears" is the standout track for now, but maybe that will change after I have listened more
  • Andy is such an amazing musician. He's had a great career, but I would have loved to hear him do MORE (and not even metal specifically)

In short, no reason to avoid this one ...

Music Mysteries that should have stayed mysterious?

The identity of the person depicted Black Sabbath's self titled debut album (I'm sure everyone here knows it) was unknown for 50 years. This was so perfect for speculation. Was it a witch? A ghost? No, it was a model named Louisa Livingstone, who was just there for the job. In her own words:

>Black Sabbath is just not my kind of music. I feel awful for saying it, because it’s probably not what people want to hear, but it isn’t particularly my kind of music. When I got the album, I gave it a listen and moved on.

All respect to Louisa, but it's all a little disappointing.

What else should have stayed a mystery?
