Were student parking permits always this expensive? 😭

I swear the parking permits in the last year were not more than $30, or were they? This fall semester they’re $50 😀

Friends neighbor is being threatened to get evicted because she has been caring for kittens (Ktown Los Angeles, CA)

Hi all! I’m trying to help a friends neighbor who has been caring for a mama cat and her kittens.

About 2 months ago, the neighbor found a pregnant cat and took her in so she could safely gave birth. Since then, she has been caring for 3 kittens. Mama cat still comes and goes around the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, the landlord is now threatening to evict the neighbor because pets aren’t allowed. She is elderly and can’t drive, so I offered to transport the cats to a shelter or potential adopter/foster. As much as I would like to take the kittens in I cannot as I am caring for a community cat and actively foster underage kittens.

They are about 2 months old, no microchips, no vaccines and pretty friendly. I contacted LA Animal Services but have not been able to get a hold of them. I’ve also contacted the Labelle foundation and two rescue groups on Facebook. I plan to try contacting the shelter I foster through but they are unfortunately closed intake so there are pretty low chances of them getting taken in. Im hoping to find placement by Sunday to prevent any additional issues with the landlord. What could I do?

Confused by aftercare instructions

So I got my first tattoo today and I’m confused…

The two things I got are aquaphor advanced therapy healing ointment and dial antibacterial fragrance free soap.
My tattoo artist put a second skin on me and told me to remove the wrap after 1-2 days, but also to keep the wrap on for a maximum of 3 hours. So which one should it be? It’s been 2 hours now

Once I remove the second skin, I wash it with the soap and the pat dry with a paper towel, then I add a very thin layer of ointment, right? And I would do this 3-4 times a day? And I will have to do this for 2 weeks right?

I just want to make sure I’m doing everything correctly. I would greatly appreciate everyone’s advice!!

How to get back into learning Korean?

So I took 3 years of Korean from 7th grade-9th grade. I remember really basic words, the alphabet, SOME numbers, and have a 3/10 pronunciation. I cannot at all have a conversation with people. I remember really struggling with grammar and which letter goes where. For example, Samantha. I would oftentimes write it like 삼 안 다 if I didn't have a keyboard that adjusted it for me.

I was wondering what resources would be good to use at this level? Would textbook be most effective? What are some of your study techniques? Thanks in advance !! ❤️

How to support mom who’s getting a hysterectomy plus removing ovaries and tubes

My mom is having a laparoscopic hysterectomy plus removing ovaries and tubes in a week and I would like to hear from those who went through this experience and what they most needed. I want to be able to support her as much through this process. She’s currently pretty anxious as this is her first surgery ever so I’ve been researching more on the topic but I think it’d be nicer to hear from those who lived through it or had friends/family members who did.

Any advice, experiences, or words that you can share would be greatly appreciated!! 💗

Volunteering at a non profit event hosted at Paramount Studios, is networking appropriate?

Hi everyone!

I’m volunteering this week at an event held for Paramount Studios staff (through a non profit org).

I’m currently a college student and I’m interested in working in the entertainment industry. In terms of career interest, I’m still exploring but I’m drawn to a few areas:
1 event coordination
2 production roles (or any creative hands on roles)

Since I’ll be there, I was wondering if it would be appropriate to network or mention career interests to the staff there? Of course I won’t be pulling up my resume and be annoying and pushy. I just want to step my foot in the door.

What’s the best way to go about it in a respectful way?
