Triplets! Whitetail deer
I haven't seen Triplets in quite awhile!
I haven't seen Triplets in quite awhile!
From a walk in the Laurel Mountains of PA.
I saw this on a hike near the Shenandoah River. I thought the white was mold, but its not. There was quite a bit of it near all the moss in that area. Any idea what it is?
I found this in a stream bed near Mt Rainier. I cut the tip off and polished it. The host rock is what makes it seem so dark as it is rather clear except for the marshmallow center.
Lots of crystalline structures inside. It was fun to polish.
I found this in a stream near Mt Rainier. I hand polished it with a variable speed grinder.
These were found in WA and OR. I'm not sure if I want to cut into them so they are keeping the plants company.
Found this in Washington. I used a variable speed grinder and diamond polishing pads to polish it.
Saw quite a few Lady Slippers on the Appalachian Trail today. Always a treat!
A favorite combination: lichen and ferns. Add some moss for the trifecta!
