My flight from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid on Iberia Airlines lands at 1035 am. My flight from Madrid to Chicago on American Airlines leaves at 1:35 pm. Because they were purchased separately, it's my understanding that I have to deboard the plane, collect my bags, and then go through security again and recheck the bags with American before the 60 minute limit to guarantee they get on the flight to Chicago.

Do I have enough time to get this done? Or should I see about getting an earlier flight out of Santiago. Google said it's a tight time limit. This would be on a Tuesday, if that matters. Thank you in advance.
