Garage door won't shut

Update - paid 450 bucks to watch someone reset the garage door by following a YouTube tutorial... stupidity is getting more expensive 🥲

Am I right in thinking my B&D Panel Max garage door has opened too far? It won't close but tries to keep opening (no noise when close button pressed but engine whined when the open was pressed). It now won't close manually either as it looks like the emergency release is stuck?? I'm so lost and it's 9pm where I am. I live in a bad area too so we will absolutely be targeted if we leave our garage door open. Any advice? Or should i start moving stuff inside?

Staff, thoughts on recent events?

With Jessica Vanderlelie still hiding on "leave" as well as a number of other upper management, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how Deakin executives have been conducting themselves?

I, personally, found the vague email reminding us not to name and shame people (clearly a result of a brave lecturer calling out Jessica Vanderlelie for being a danger to Australian Universities) to be in very poor taste. There is no need for a University wide email because of one statement from one person, it was actually a little uncomfortable. In a professional setting, situations like that should be addressed one-to-one and not put in blast.

There is such a thick air of tension and with every notice of someone being on leave or quitting it just gets worse. While their apology was nice, this tension clearly isn't getting any better. I think we all know that getting rid of Jessica Vanderlelie would make things a lot better... but I'm worried there's a deeper issue with our executive leadership team.

Thoughts?

Australian's please help!

Hi all! I'm an aerialist based in Melbourne Australia and I'm currently saving up for my own portable rig. My problem is that there are so many options with a wild price range (I've found rigs that look the same but one is 500 and the other is 5k). I've realised that I have no clue what I'm looking for... I'm hoping for a rig that:

- can be put up and down by one person (a person who often does 2 man tasks alone lol)

- can be used for silks and lyra (would love if the company also sold Silks, as I'm buying this at the same time as my rig, but not necessary)

- has a pulley system in case I need to be lowered... unless people don't think this is necessary?

- is a trusted and safe brand, I'm not here to put my life at risk!

- can be delivered to Melbourne Australia (or is made and can be picked up in Melbourne)

I'm not sure how tall I want it, but I do want to be able to do some drops on it one day. I'm only 5 foot tall though, so probably won't need anything super tall.

If anyone has ANY advice, whether it's specific rig recommendations or just general information, I'm so keen to hear it all!!!! Especially height recommendations and safety tips.

Please note, I'm a safety nut. I'll be buying a crash mat and I will be regularly checking my equipment for faults. I don't want the cheap options!!! I want the safest, most trusted and reliable rig. I've already had two massive head injuries, so I'm not trying to get another haha.

I've been searching for 25 years - YA Novel about weird experiment?

SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED the book was running out of time by margaret peterson haddix, thanks dough_eating_squid

As the title says, I've been trying to find this book for about 25 years! It was read to me by my teacher in the early 2000s, when I would have been about 7ish, she covered the book title so we couldn't prejudge the book (it was some lesson about judgement lol), but this now means I only remember the plot! It goes it like:

A young girl is living in a world with no electricity or modern technology, and no means of contacting anyone outside of their town.

This girl discovers a secret passage way and on the other side she finds the modern world! Turns out she was living in an experiment (I think? Or it might have been a weird live museum thing? I can't remember) and everyone in her town was being monitored 24/7. I'm pretty sure it was some kind of experiment because I remember that all the adults knew but were lying to the kids to keep them from being impacted by the modern world.

I never got to finish the book so I have no idea how it ends!!! I last remember the girl was trying to rescue her friends but got caught? My memory is very foggy now, so some details may be incorrect... does this ring a bell for anyone? I believe it was a YA novel, it was probably aimed towards teens as my teacher always read us books that were for older kids.

Status Migrainosous

So I tend to get Status Migrainous 🙃 essentially, if I cant get my migraine under control within 48 hours, it'll turn into Status Migrainous. Which is overall a horrible experience, and the pain is no joke but I find the change in mental state to be the worst experience!!! I'm on the verge of it right now and I can just feel my mind starting to slip, which for me is when I start to deny that I have a migraine and start rubbing my face raw trying to find the muscle that hurts or clear my sinus, I get confused and forget I have a migraine and so will suddenly think "oh my God, what is this pain?!", I'll want to hide away and lie about why (this irks me soooo much, why won't I just tell my partner that I have a migraine?!).

I've tried prevention meds but they give me the same foggy thoughts as the migrainous itself! Though not quite as bad, I can't stand it. I've tried strong pain meds which worked for years until I got stomach ulcers. And now, I have found my (usually) golden duo! Two advil and a sugary coffee (probably 2 if I'm honest, maybe 3...). I'd never have believed you if you told me that advil would work... but man, it works! Except for this time lol, I've capped out an advil and I'm on my 4th coffee, which is my maximum. Let's hope it fades today or I'm in for a hospital trip 🙄

My current collection

I am now living in Australia, but I do intend to get rid of my American citizenship before I get my Australian citizenship.

Before finding this page, I hadn't met anyone else with more than two citizenships! What do you all say when someone asks "where are you from?" , I have no clue how to answer that question without giving someone a full run down of my immigration journey and genetic lineage 🤣

Horizon Patients

ETA I got the temporary increase in limit approved! And Rays are working on getting it released. 10/10 service from the Horizon doctor (reception is always a hurdle lol) and Rays team ☺️

Has anyone ever had any luck with getting a repeat filled a little early? I've hit my cap for the month (60g) so cant reorder until the 1st, have any of you gotten permission to reorder a few days early? Or is their 60g per month cut off super strict?
